Improved stability in <scp>P3HT</scp> : <scp>PCBM</scp> photovoltaics by incorporation of <scp>wella??designed</scp> polythiophene/graphene compositions
摘要: Morphological and photovoltaic stabilities of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) solar cells were investigated in pristine and modified states. To this end, the four types of patterned/assembled nanostructures, such as reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-g-poly(3-dodecylthiophene) (PDDT)/P3HT patched-like pattern, rGO-polythiophene (GPTh)/P3HT/PC71BM nanofiber, rGO-g-P3HT/P3HT cake-like pattern and supra(polyaniline (PANI)-g-rGO/P3HT) were designed on the basis of rGO and different conjugated polymers. Intermediately covered rGO nanosheets by the P3HT crystals (supra(PANI-g-rGO/P3HT)) acted better than rarely (patched-like pattern) and fully (cake-like pattern) covered ones in P3HT:PC71BM solar systems. Supra(PANI-g-rGO/P3HT) nano-hybrids largely phase separated in active layers (root mean square = 0.88 nm) and also reflected the highest performance (PCE = 5.74%). The photovoltaic characteristics demonstrated the plummeting trends during the air aging for all sorts of devices, but with distinct slopes. The steepest decreasing plots were obtained for the unmodified P3HT:PC71BM devices (from 1.77 to 0.28%). The two last supramolecules with the most ordered structures, i.e., cake-like pattern (10.12 mA/cm2, 51%, 0.58 V, 2.2 × 10–6 cm2/V.s, 4.3 × 10–5 cm2/V.s, 0.69 nm and 2.99%) and supra(PANI-g-rGO/P3HT) (12.51 mA/cm2, 57%, 0.63 V, 1.2 × 10–5 cm2/V.s, 3.4 × 10–4 cm2/V.s, 0.82 nm and 4.49%), highly retained the morphological and photovoltaic stabilities in P3HT:PC71BM devices after 1 month air aging. According to the morphological, optical, photovoltaic and electrochemical results, the supra(PANI-g-rGO/P3HT) nano-hybrids were the best candidates for stabilizing the P3HT:PC71BM solar cells.

Thulium Laser Vapoenucleation of the Prostate (ThuVEP) in Men at High Cardiovascular Risk and on Antithrombotic Therapy: A Single-Center Experience
摘要: Bleeding is the most common complication of transurethral resection of the prostate and simple open prostatectomy, especially in men on antiplatelet/anticoagulant therapy. The present study aimed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of thulium laser vapoenucleation of the prostate (ThuVEP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia in patients on chronic antithrombotic medications. Between January 2015 and December 2019, 88 men underwent the procedure under antithrombotic agents in our center. The mean age was 74.7 ± 6.1 years. Median prostate volume was 66.5 mL. Patients on oral anticoagulants were bridged to low-molecular-weight heparin (n = 35). Aspirin (n = 39), clopidogrel (n = 10), and ticlopidine (n = 4) were maintained. Of the patients, 69.3% had an American Society of Anesthesiologists score ≥ 3. Blood loss at 24 h was comparable in all groups. Median catheterization length and postoperative stays were 2 and 3 days respectively. Acute cardiovascular events occurred in 2 patients (2.3%). Of the patients, 4 required prolonged bladder irrigation, 2 required blood transfusions, 1 required a cystoscopy for bleeding control, and 1 required a suprapubic cystostomy for blood clot evacuation. No patients died within 30 days of being discharged. Late complications occurred in 3 (3.8%) patients (1 optical urethrotomy and 1 bladder neck incision for stenosis; 1 acute myocardial infarction). All follow-up visits (1, 6, and 12-month) showed a significant improvement in all urinary parameters compared to baseline. ThuVEP appears to be a feasible surgical option in high-risk patients on antithrombotic regimens, with acceptable postoperative morbidity, good functional outcome, and low incidence of medium-term reoperation rate.

摘要: This paper presents a physics-based compact modeling approach that incorporates the impact of total ionizing dose (TID) and stress-induced defects into simulations of metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) devices and integrated circuits (ICs). This approach utilizes calculations of surface potential (ψs) to capture the charge contribution from oxide trapped charge and interface traps and to describe their impact on MOS electrostatics and device operating characteristics as a function of ionizing radiation exposure and aging effects. The modeling approach is demonstrated for bulk and silicon-on-insulator (SOI) MOS device. The formulation is verified using TCAD simulations and through the comparison of model calculations and experimental I-V characteristics from irradiated devices. The modeling approach is suitable for simulating TID and aging effects in advanced MOS devices and ICs, and is compatible with modern MOSFET compact modeling techniques. A circuit-level demonstration is given for TID and aging effects in SRAM cells.

Development of laser speckle blood flowmeter for evaluating the physiological function of skin
摘要: Objective: We developed and demonstrated laser speckle ?owgraphy (LSFG) for two-dimensional (2D) skin blood ?ow (SBF) measurements to facilitate the noninvasive comparisons of SBF between individuals. Approach: By using morphing technology with a face mesh to compare SBF spatial distributions among individuals, we examined the practicability of SBF measurement with LSFG. Main results: (1) The uniformity of SBF measurement was demonstrated by examinations at different distances and angles for healthy subjects. (2) Mean blur rate (MBR)—a blood ?ow index of LSFG—exhibited signi?cant correlation with the thermal diffusion method (TDM)—an established blood ?ow measurement method—suggesting that MBR is an effective index of SBF. (3) Blowout time, the half-width duration/duration of one cardiac cycle, exhibited signi?cant negative correlation with age and positive correlation with stratum corneum hydration. Signi?cance: These results suggest that LSFG is useful for evaluating SBF-related skin properties, and it has signi?cant potential in medicine and cosmetology.

Clinical improvement of photoaging-associated facial hyperpigmentation in Korean skin with a picosecond 1064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser
摘要: Traditional attempts at alleviating photoaging-associated facial pigmentation conditions such as melasma, mottled hyperpigmentation, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation have yielded disfiguring cosmetic results. Laser toning using a low-fluence Q-switched 1064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser has been more commonly applied to date. However, the treatment efficacy and safety of this approach have not been widely reported. This study therefore evaluated the efficacy and safety of picosecond 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser application for photoaging-associated facial pigmentation treatment in Korean subjects. Forty-seven Korean subjects with photoaging-associated facial pigmentation underwent picosecond 1064-nm laser application. The clinical improvement of 17 patients was assessed by objective measurements such as melanin and erythema indices. All subjects received six biweekly treatments with the laser in a three-pass fashion delivering approximately 2000 to 2500 shots using a zoom handpiece with a spot size of 7 mm, fluence ranging from 0.4 to 0.7 J/cm2, and a repetition rate of 10 Hz. Clinicians evaluated the improvement of pigmentation using the pigmentation area and severity index (PSI), and subjects reported their satisfaction level on a four-point scale. Statistical analyses were performed using the SPSS version 19.0 for Windows software program (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Forty-seven subjects (45 females and two males) completed this study with a 12-week follow-up period. The average decrease in PSI value at 12 weeks after treatment was 6.85 ± 6.35 points (p < 0.001). The average decreases in the values of the erythema and melanin indices were 19.41 ± 64.64 points (p = 0.234) and 28.88 ± 32.89 points (p = 0.002). An analysis of 32 subjects’ reports (68.1%) suggested good or excellent improvement. No serious adverse effects were observed during treatment or the follow-up period. Picosecond 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser application appears to be safe and effective in improving various photoaging-associated facial pigmentation conditions in Korean skin.

摘要: Biometric template aging is defined as an increase in recognition error rate with increased time since enrollment. It is believed that template aging does not occur for iris recognition. Several research groups, however, have recently reported experimental results showing that iris template aging does occur. This template aging effect manifests as a shift in the authentic distribution, resulting in an increased false non-match rate. Analyzing results from a three-year time-lapse data set, we find ~ 150% increase in the false non-match rate at a decision threshold representing a one in two million false match rate. We summarize several known elements of eye aging that could contribute to template aging, including age-related change in pupil dilation. Finally, we discuss various steps that can control the template aging effect in typical identity verification applications.

On the Stability of Precursor Solution for Perovskite Solar Cell: Mixture (FAI + PbI2) versus Synthetic FAPbI3 Crystal
摘要: We report here on the stability of precursor solution for perovskite solar cells. Solution is aged at ambient condition for 4 weeks, where two different precursor solutions are prepared by dissolving FAI and PbI2 in DMSO/DMF solvent (precursor mixture solution) and the synthesized single crystalline α-FAPbI3 in the same solvent (single crystal solution). Perovskite films are prepared by depositing fresh or aged solutions at weekly intervals. Photovoltaic parameters are hardly altered by aging the single crystal solution, while power conversion efficiency (PCE) is gradually decreased with aging time for the precursor mixture solution mainly due to the decreased photocurrent density and fill factor. Solution pH is changed from basic to acidic due to HI formed by aging the precursor mixture solution, which prevents the formation of α phase of FAPbI3, while, for the single crystal solution, basic condition remains unchanged by aging. In addition, the presence of δ phase in the annealed perovskite films is found to have ill influence on the long-term stability. It is thus important to keep pH of the precursor solution to avoid aging effect and remove δ phase in the annealed film for device stability.

Effects of dust, soiling, aging, and weather conditions on photovoltaic system performances in a Saharan environmenta??Case study in Algeria
摘要: Solar photovoltaic (PV) power represents one of the most promising future sources of energy in the world. Considered the cleanest form of energy, extensive research is being undertaken to widen its use. Notably, mega projects are being considered for installation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region because of its high solar potential, with hopes of eventually feeding Europe from the PV electricity generated in this region and transported through high voltage direct current (DC) lines. However, current implementation of PV systems has shown that their reliability and efficiency depend upon surrounding environmental factors, such as the ambient temperature, wind, and rainfall, as well as soiling, pollution, and aging. The aim of this study was to investigate, through experimental tests, the effects of such factors on the power output of a grid connected PV station. The results showed that the output power and efficiency are deeply affected by various environmental factors, which are weather dependent. These findings may help us develop appropriate solutions to overcome these drawbacks.

Development of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer/graphene oxide nanocomposites for crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules
摘要: Renewable sources of energy, such as solar cells, stand out as promising sustainable alternatives, given the growing world energy demand. The crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules are the most used in the conversion of solar energy into electricity. These modules are subject to weather conditions that may cause degradation of the ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) encapsulant (cross-linked EVA copolymer), affecting the efficiency, stability and service life of the PV conversion. In this work, the development of an encapsulant was performed, based on the addition of graphene oxide (GO) to EVA encapsulant forming the nanocomposite (EVA/GO), in order to improve the stabilization against photodegradation. Nanocomposites with GO concentrations wt. %: 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.0% and 2.0% were characterized by: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy by attenuated total reflectance (ATR-FTIR) thermogravimetry (TG), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), before and after they underwent accelerated aging processes in Weather-Ometer and UVB rays chambers. In general, the addition of GO minimized EVA encapsulant degradation. Only the encapsulant with GO concentration of 0.25 wt% was shown as promising for photovoltaic modules, since the transparency of the films with higher concentrations was impaired.

Effect of colloid aggregation characteristic on ZnO interface layer and photovoltaic performance of polymer solar cells
摘要: ZnO as a classical n-type semiconductor oxide is widely used as the electron transport layer for high-efficiency polymer solar cells by using solution processing. To study the effect of ZnO colloid aggregation size on the morphology of ZnO interface layer and photovoltaic performance of polymer solar cells. The ZnO colloid aggregation size was adjusted by aging time, and the PTB7-Th:PC71BM solar cells with various ZnO interface layers were fabricated. The results showed that morphology, structure and property of ZnO interface layer were depended on the ZnO colloid particle size, and then determined the photoelectric performance of the PTB7-Th:PC71BM solar cell. The best performance of PTB7-Th:PC71BM solar cell with 10.21% was obtained when the ZnO precursor solution was set at 2 h aging. The ZnO interface layer with good morphology and appropriate energy level improved the mobility and lifetime of charge carrier. Moreover, it also attributed good interface contact between the ZnO layer and the PTB7-Th:PC71BM active layer, which enhanced the electron transfer and reduced the charge recombination at the interface.
