Rapid and fingerprinted monitoring of pesticide methyl parathion on the surface of fruits/leaves as well as in surface water enabled by gold nanorods based casting-and-sensing SERS platform
摘要: An effective, simple and portable gold nanorod (Au NR) based casting-and-sensing surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) platform was developed for rapid and fingerprinted detection of pesticide methyl parathion. Monodispersed Au NRs with an average length of 60 nm and an aspect ratio of ca. 3 were synthesized through a seed mediated method and then systematically characterized. After a proof-of-concept detection for methyl parathion in DI water and on solid surface, the sensing platform was further applied to real samples (lake water, orange, apple and plant leave) contaminated with methyl parathion. The results show that the sensitivity of the SERS sensor for methyl parathion was satisfactory for real application, with detection limits of 1 μM in spiked lake water and 110-440 ng/cm2 on the surface of various fruits and plant leaves. This study indicates that the developed casting-and-sensing SERS sensor shows great promise to secure agricultural, food and environmental safety.

Weighted-Fusion-Based Representation Classifiers for Hyperspectral Imagery
摘要: Spatial texture features have been demonstrated to be very useful for the recently-proposed representation-based classifiers, such as the sparse representation-based classifier (SRC) and nearest regularized subspace (NRS). In this work, a weighted residual-fusion-based strategy with multiple features is proposed for these classifiers. Multiple features include local binary patterns (LBP), Gabor features, and the original spectral signatures. In the proposed classification framework, representation residuals for a testing pixel from using each type of features are weighted to generate the final representation residual, and then the label of the testing pixel is determined according to the class yielding the minimum final residual. The motivation of this work is that different features represent pixels from different perspectives and their fusion in the residual domain can enhance the discriminative ability. Experimental results of several real hyperspectral image datasets demonstrate that the proposed residual-based fusion outperforms the original NRS, SRC, support vector machine (SVM) with LBP, and SVM with Gabor features, even in small-sample-size (SSS) situations.

Au@Ag Corea??Shell Nanorods Support Plasmonic Fano Resonances
摘要: In this work, we investigated experimentally and theoretically the plasmonic Fano resonances (FRs) exhibited by core–shell nanorods composed of a gold core and a silver shell (Au@Ag NRs). The colloidal synthesis of these Au@Ag NRs produces nanostructures with rich plasmonic features, of which two different FRs are particularly interesting. The FR with spectral location at higher energies (3.7 eV) originates from the interaction between a plasmonic mode of the nanoparticle and the interband transitions of Au. In contrast, the tunable FR at lower energies (2.92–2.75 eV) is ascribed to the interaction between the dominant transversal LSPR mode of the Ag shell and the transversal plasmon mode of the Au@Ag nanostructure. The unique symmetrical morphology and FRs of these Au@Ag NRs make them promising candidates for plasmonic sensors and metamaterials components.

Self-powered, all-solution processed, trilayer heterojunction perovskite-based photodetectors
摘要: Heterostructures composed of nano-/micro-junctions, combining the excellent photon harvesting properties of nano-system and ultrafast carrier transfer of micro-system, have shown promising role in high-performance photodetectors. Here, in this paper a highly-sensitive trilayer in which the CdS nanorods (NRs) layer is sandwiched between ZnO/CsPbBr3 interface to reduce self-powered perovskite-based photodetector ITO/ZnO(70nm)/CdS(150nm)/CsPbBr3(200nm)/Au, ratio of 106 with a responsivity of 86 mA/W and a specific detectivity of 6.2×1011 Jones was obtained at zero bias under 85 μW/cm2 405 nm illumination, and its rise/decay time at zero bias is to the strong built-in potential and the internal driving electric-field, an ultra-high On/Off current 0.3/0.25 s. Therefore, the enhanced device performance strongly suggest the great potential of such the interfacial charge carriers’ recombination and the charge transport resistance, is presented. Due a kind of trilayer heterojunction devices for high-performance perovskite photodetectors.

ZnO nanorods array as light absorption antenna for high-gain UV photodetectors
摘要: Hydrothermal method provides the advantages of simple, low-temperature growth conditions, low cost and large surface areas for the samples. Also, exciton dissociation can be enhanced by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) due to the plasmonic absorption enhancement of incident light. In this paper, high-gain ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors based on vertically aligned ZnO nanorods (ZnO-NRs) array as light absorption antenna were presented, in which ZnO-NRs array was prepared by hydrothermal method. Our experimental data showed that the device performance of the UV photodetector Au/ZnO(ZnO-NRs:Au-NPs)/Au can be further enhanced after the gaps of ZnO-NRs array were filled with Au nanoparticles (Au-NPs). The photo-to-dark current ratio and the specific detectivity of the UV photodetector Au/ZnO(ZnO-NRs:Au-NPs)/Au reached to 1×105 and 1.84×1013 Jones at 2 V under 100 μW/cm2 365 nm illumination, respectively. The physical mechanism for the enhanced performance of the UV photodetectors is discussed.

Nitroxide-radicals–modified gold nanorods for in vivo CT/MRI-guided photothermal cancer therapy
摘要: This article presents a report of the synthesis, characterization, and biomedical application of nitroxide-radicals–modified gold nanorods (Au-TEMPO NRs) for imaging-guided photothermal cancer therapy. Patients and methods: Au nanorods were synthesized through seed-mediated growth method, 4-Amino-TEMPO was added and the reaction proceeded under magnetic stirring. Results: With a mean length of 39.2 nm and an average aspect ratio of approximately 3.85, Au-TEMPO NRs showed good photothermal ability when they were irradiated by 808-nm laser. Au-TEMPO NRs could be stored in PBS for more than 1 month, showed no cytotoxicity against both tumor and normal cells at a concentration of up to 3 mg/mL, and functioned as a dual-mode contrast agent for CT/magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in vitro and in vivo, due to their high X-ray attenuation of Au and good r1 relaxivity of nitroxide radicals. Further, they had a long retention time (~4 hours) in the main organs, which enabled a long CT/MR imaging time window for diagnosis. Bio-distribution results revealed that these Au-TEMPO NRs passively aggregated in the liver and spleen. After irradiation by 808-nm laser, Au-TEMPO NRs could ablate the solid tumor in 4T1 tumor-bearing mice, which implied they were a potential theranostic agent for dual-mode imaging and photothermal cancer therapy. Conclusion: This type of Au-TEMPO NRs with the abilities of CT/MR imaging and photothermal therapy, can play an active role in imaging-guided photothermal cancer therapy.
