Comparative analysis of capacity oriented Integrated AMI modulation technique for the deployment of radio over fiber system
摘要: To improve the spectral efficiency and to reduce non-linear distortion in the optical system, various advanced modulation techniques have been investigated for radio over fiber (RoF) system. The investigation indicates the high data rate distortion less transmission for long-haul RoF system still further investigation is required to improve spectral efficiency and to get the reduction in signal degradation. In this paper, an advanced modulation technique referred as integrated alternate mark inversion modulation technique based upon external modulation (electro-absorption modulator) has been designed and simulated. The results show better performance in terms of performance metrics i.e. Q-factor (25.15) and BER (4e-140) and also enhance the data transmission capabilities up to 100 Gbps covering the long distance of 250 km resulting a reasonable reduction in signal degradation particularly chromatic dispersion effects for long-haul transmissions.

Measurement of ROS in Caenorhabditis elegans Using a Reduced Form of Fluorescein
摘要: Oxidative stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. Oxidative stress is a result of a disruption of the equilibrium between antioxidants and oxidants, in favor of oxidants. Since mitochondria are major sites of production and reduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS), measurement of ROS levels can help us determine if mitochondrial functional integrity has been compromised. In this protocol, we describe a method to measure the level of ROS in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, using chloromethyl-2,7’-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (CM-H2DCFDA).

Performance Signature of Optical Fiber Communications Dispersion Compensation Techniques for the Control of Dispersion Management
摘要: This paper has deeply simulated the different configurations of pre, post, and symmetric dispersion compensation-based dispersion compensated fiber (DCF), Gaussian optic filter (GOF), and fiber Bragg grating. Output power, signal quality factor, and signal gain are the performance parameters in this study for the complete comparison for the proposed techniques for dispersion compensation. It is observed that FBG has presented the best performance parameters optimization in compared to other compensation techniques for different configurations of compensation. The FBG dispersion compensation technique is the key solution for dispersion compensation in compared with other compensation techniques that are comparatively as in previous section. It is observed that the FBG is the best dispersion compensation technique and change its location, and length, apodization, and chirp functions, to obtain the best performance of FBG and give the best quality factor, output power, and gain, FBG can be employed in different categories such as post compensation, pre compensation, and symmetric compensation with different FBG lengths, apodization, and chirp functions.

Enhancement of Signals Characteristics with Least Effect of Optical Communication Losses for Dense Optical Communication Systems
摘要: In this paper, the major aim is to enhance the bandwidth and therefore increase the capacity of the optical fibre communication system by reducing the dispersion in the fibre. Dispersion compensation is necessary to reduce losses and cost of the system. In this paper, we are basically focusing on reducing or decreasing chromatic dispersion. Chromatic dispersion is a type of dispersion in which pulse broadening occurs due to delay in different spectral components. We here make use of dispersion compensated fibre (DCF) for reducing the dispersion in the WDM system. Here, we basically use three dispersion compensated techniques (pre-compensation, post-compensation and mix compensation). The comparison in the three models of dispersion compensated technique is made in terms of transmission power vs. Q factor and also transmission power vs. Bit Error Rate.

摘要: Chromatic dispersion becomes non-negligible in high bitrate and long-haul optical transmission that is necessary to compensate to maintain the system performance. One of the most effective and practical ways to compensate the chromatic dispersion is through Dispersion-Compensating Fiber (DCF) implementation for its negative dispersion to reduce the positive one in optical transmission. This paper presents the DCF implementation in DWDM transmission with bitrate and optical launch power variation. The DWDM model using 16 channels with channel spacing of 200 GHz, 300 km optical transmission length, and Erbium Doped Fiber Ampli?er (EDFA) was implemented in OptiSystem. The system performance comparison was observed with bit error rate (BER), Q-factor, and received power for variation of the optical power launch -4, -2, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 dBm at bitrate 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps. Based on the results, all of the 16 channels using DCF at bitrate 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps completely reduced the dispersion. The optical power launch remarkably affected the system performance in high bitrate.
