System Design for High-Capacity Unrepeatered Optical Transmission
摘要: By basing the figure of merit on the joint evaluation of signal BER and OSNR, the design of single-carrier 400G unrepeatered optical systems using remote optically-pumped amplifiers (ROPAs) with dedicated delivery fiber is discussed and analyzed in this work. Simulation results show very good agreement with experimental measurements, proving the effectiveness of the proposed approach in critical transmission situations.

Circularly Polarized SIW DRA Fed by Ridge Gap Waveguide for 60??GHz Communications
摘要: A compact planar dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed based on the sub-strate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology for 60? GHz communications. The pro-posed? antenna is constructed from a multilayered dielectric substrate separated by metallic sheets. A dog-bone shaped DRA is formed by perforating the upper dielectric sub-strate?with air holes surrounding the dog-bone structure. The DRA?is surrounded by metal-lic vies connecting two metal sheets above and below the substrate containing the?DRA. The DRA is fed through a slot coupled microstrip?transmission line?printed below the slot. The ridge-gap waveguide technology?(RGW) is used in the feeding layer to suppress the surface wave?surrounding the microstrip transmission line and improve the peak gain. The RGW?unit-cell structure has stop-band of 46–95?GHz. The SIW DRA introduces imped-ance bandwidth from 59.4 to 60.4?GHz (1.67% referenced to 60 GHz)?with peak gain of 6.78 dBi. The circular polarization (CP) is achieved by the rotation of the dog-bone shaped DRA by 45°?with respect to the feeding slot. It produces left-hand CP with a bandwidth of 0.22?GHz?(0.36%). A 2 × 1 SIW-DRA elements are designed with sequential rotation and phases for CP bandwidth enhancement. The peak gain increases to 9.1?dBi, and a broad-band AR of 4.8?GHz (8%) is achieved. 2 × 2 SIW-DRA elements with 90° orientation rota-tion angle and phases of 0, 90°, 180°, and 270° are designed. An improvement in the peak gain of 11?dBi is produced with wide AR bandwidth of 10.8?GHz?(18% from 54.2 GHz to 65?GHz) for 60?GHz communications.

摘要: A simple compact novel hemispherical DRA (HDRA) for isolation improvement with rectangular shaped slot Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is proposed. Length of the slot on the ground plane plays a vital role to enhance the isolation. An optimized length of the slot of b=4.5cm on PEC ground plane offers an isolation of -30dB and impedance bandwidth (S11< - 10dB) of 15.6% with return loss -42.5dB at 2.412GHz and - 23.3dB isolation with -18dB return loss at 4.216GHz. The proposed geometry resonates at two bands, primarily at ISM band and it is best suitable for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WiMax, WLAN and Satellite and radar applications in S-band.

Triple-Band Dual-Sense Circularly Polarized Hybrid Dielectric Resonator Antenna
摘要: In this paper, a triple-band dual-sense circularly polarized (CP) hybrid dielectric resonator antenna is proposed. A modified hexagonal dielectric resonator (DR) is top-loaded with a square microstrip ring (SMR). A vertical-tapered-strip connected to a 50-? microstrip line is used to excite the proposed antenna. It is found that the lower and central CP bands correspond to left-handed circular polarization and are produced by the TM11 and TE111 modes of the SMR and modified hexagonal DR, respectively. The upper CP band is formed by the combination of the quasi-TM21 mode of the SMR and quasi-TE111 mode of the DR that exhibits right-handed circular polarization. The measurement results of the fabricated prototype show triple-band response for |S11| < ?10 dB with impedance bandwidths (IBWs) of 17.4% (1.75–2.03 GHz), 28.13% (2.23–2.96 GHz), and 2.97% (3.65–3.76 GHz) in the lower, central, and upper bands, respectively. The measured 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths lying within ?10 dB IBWs are 3.69% (1.86–1.93 GHz), 5.46% (2.67–2.82 GHz), and 2.15% (3.68–3.76 GHz) along with the peak gains of 5 dBic, 5.28 dBic, and 2.36 dBic in the lower, central, and upper bands, respectively.
