Dielectric properties of porous SiC/Si3N4 ceramics by polysilazane immersion-pyrolysis
摘要: The SiC nanotubes were synthesized on porous Si3N4 matrix by polysilazane immersion-pyrolysis. The β-SiC and free C contents increased with the increasing dipping times, which cause some clear vibration and loss peaks of the dielectric constant patterns emerged at around 12.9 GHz and 14.7 GHz in the samples of 20 wt% and 30 wt% benzoic acid, respectively. The re?ectivity of the obtained ceramics were ?7dB ~ ?10dB from the frequency of 8 GHz–18 GHz, which means that the amount of 80%–90% electromagnetic wave could be attenuated. The ceramics containing 40 wt% benzoic acid showed the high loss, low re?ectivity and a wide absorbing band, indicating the high absorbing e?ciency and good dielectric properties.

Platinum counter electrodes for dye-sensitized solar cells prepared by one-step dipping process
摘要: When designing counter electrodes (CEs) to enhance the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), facile routes are important features. Platinum (Pt) metal is one of the most-promising CE designs for DSSCs. Herein, we developed a simple, and cost-effective one-step dipping process for preparing Pt CEs in DSSCs. The Pt CEs were prepared by dipping fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) in a 3-mercaptopropyl triethoxysilane (MTS)-Pt suspension. We tested and compared MTS-1-Pt, MTS-10-Pt, and sputtered-Pt as CEs in DSSCs. MTS-1-Pt and MTS-10-Pt refer to samples prepared with 1 and 10 ml of MTS, respectively. DSSCs with MTS-1-Pt CEs exhibited power conversion efficiency (PCE) values as high as 8.28%, which was superior to the DSSCs using MTS-10-Pt as the CEs (1.61%). Additionally, the DSSCs with MTS-1-Pt CE showed mostly similar PCEs compared to those with sputtered-Pt (8.55%) because of the same catalytic activity with iodide. Thus, this modified Pt CE facile process can be used to further enhance the performance of DSSCs.

[IEEE 2019 26th International Workshop on Active-Matrix Flatpanel Displays and Devices (AM-FPD) - Kyoto, Japan (2019.7.2-2019.7.5)] 2019 26th International Workshop on Active-Matrix Flatpanel Displays and Devices (AM-FPD) - PEDOT:PSS Transparent Electrode for ITO-Free Polymer:Fullerene Bulk-Heterojunction Organic Solar Cells
摘要: Conducting poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) films have high potential as flexible transparent conductive electrodes in various devices. In this study, two simple robust methanol-based treatment methods, namely, dipping process (DP) and solvent vapor annealing (SVA), were used to improve the electrical conductivity of PEDOT:PSS films in order to make them suitable as electrodes in organic solar cells (OSCs). Then, the characteristics of the methanol-treated PEDOT:PSS films were investigated. After the methanol treatments, the sheet resistance of the PEDOT:PSS films (ca. 100 ?/Sq) were improved by more than 200 times, and the work function (~5.0 eV) was nearly unchanged in both methods. Two completely different possible origins of the improved conductivity of the methanol-treated PEDOT:PSS films were addressed for DP and SVA approaches. Both methods were suitable for preparing methanol-treated PEDOT:PSS films that can be used as anodes for polymer–fullerene-based OSCs. The photovoltaic performance of the modified PEDOT:PSS-based devices was comparable to that of indium tin oxide (ITO)-based devices, thus demonstrating their practicality. The methanol-treated PEDOT:PSS films show great potential as flexible transparent conductive electrodes for ITO-free and metal-free devices.

Effect of titanium (IV) isopropoxide molarity on the crystallinity and photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide thin film deposited via green sol–gel route
摘要: In this paper, the effect of titanium (IV) isopropoxide TTIP molarity on the crystallinity and TiO2 thin film properties deposited via green sol–gel route was reported. The green sol–gel route is a pioneering approach for eco-friendly coating where solvent is not utilized in the sol formulation. This is in contrast to the common TiO2 sol formulation where solvent is used despite the long term harmful the environment. TiO2 solution with different TTIP molarity of 0.2 M, 0.3 M, 0.4 M and 0.5 M were utilized during coating deposition. Deposition were conducted for ten times using dip coating and treated at 500 ?C (1-h). The crystalline phases and phase content were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and reference intensity ratio (RIR) equation. Crystallites size was obtained by Scherrer’s equation while coating morphologies was analyzed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The photocatalytic activity was conducted by the degradation of methylene blue (MB) towards UV-light and visible light. At higher TTIP molarity (0.5 M), higher crystallinity of mixed anatase (~17 nm) and rutile (~29 nm) phases were obtained along with homogeneous coating (cracking and visible pore). Also, higher MB degradation were obtained at UV-light (95%) and visible-light (86%) irradiation. In conclusion, higher TTIP molarity produced TiO2 film with higher crystallinity, small crystallite size, cracking morphology thus contribute good performance in photocatalytic activity. Findings in this work shown that TiO2 thin film deposition is possible conducted without the use of solvent through optimized formulation of only precursor, acid and water. This is beneficial for the environment sustainability.
