  • Influence of Technological Parameters of Direct Laser Deposition Process on the Structure and Properties of Deposited Products from Alloy Ti-6Al-4V

    摘要: The technology of direct laser deposition is the most promising for using in various industries. One of the most interesting areas for using this technology is an aviation industry. Due to their unique properties, titanium alloys are widely used in the aircraft industry for gas turbine engine components. In this paper, the effect of DLD process parameters on defect formation and structure is considered. The influence of energy density on the mechanical properties of parts is determined.

  • The influence of heat treatment on the microstructure of products manufactured by direct laser deposition using titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V

    摘要: The titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is an important alloy in the aerospace industry. The Direct Laser Deposition (DLD) allows manufacturing products of complex geometric shapes from this alloy, which are not inferior in quality to traditional methods. As a result of previous studies, it was found that the product structure does not match the specified requirements for the Ti-6Al-4V alloy and heat treatment is required. In this research, annealing of samples was carried out in different modes, where the time and annealing temperature varied. The microstructure of the products was studied. As a result of the work, it was found that at an annealing temperature of 600–650 °C, the microstructure is heterogeneous: individual grains of the b-phase are preserved. With an increase of the annealing temperature (750 °C–900 °C), the prior b-grains become less distinguishable. It was found that the length decreases with increasing plate thickness of the metastable a0-phase with increasing temperature. With an increase in the propagation time of grain boundaries, the structure becomes homogeneous. The microhardness of the samples after heat treatment decreases slightly, remains in the range of 300–400 HV0,5.

  • The influence of a protective environment during direct laser deposition on the formation of structure and properties of steel F690W (09CrNi2MoCu)

    摘要: The article presents the study of the direct laser deposition (DLD) process of cold-resistant steel 09CrNi2MoCu (F690W). As a result, many bainite transformation products are produced. The formation of a bainitic structure in the process of deposition is still little studied; in the process of the growth of the deposited wall, the microstructure undergoes a phase transformation. The work details the equipment for direct laser deposition, describes the main technological parameters of the regime, and studies the surface of the steel powder. Mechanical tests for impact toughness were carried out at a temperature of (cid:1)40 (cid:1)C, with different laser emission powers. The results are given using the initial powder, as well as used powder with a different mixing ratio, and the results are analyzed. As a result of the study, it was established that the fractional composition of the F620W alloy powder has a signi?cant effect on the mechanical characteristics of samples obtained by direct laser deposition. The effect of recycled powder on the mechanical properties of the samples obtained is given.

  • Macro defects in direct laser deposition process

    摘要: Currently, direct laser deposition technology is used to create products with complex geometry in various industries, such as: aircraft engine building, shipbuilding, and the energy industry. This technology allows made workpieces with minimal subsequent machining. Parts manufactured for these areas should have the required performance characteristics. The mechanical properties of products obtained using direct laser deposition technology are affected by internal and surface defects: pores, non-fusion, cracks, and roughness, since they are the main stress concentrators. This article describes such internal defects as pores and non-fusion in different situations, identi?es the causes of their occurrence and considers their elimination methods.

  • Laser processing as a high-throughput method to investigate microstructure-processing-property relationships in multiprincipal element alloys

    摘要: A direct laser deposition processing method was applied to construct compositional and microstructural libraries of AlxCoCrFeNi in an efficient and high-throughput manner. Among the compositions (x ? 0.51 e1.25) and quench rates (26e6400 K/s) studied, most of the laser deposited alloys exhibit a cellular microstructure, similar to the cast materials. The microstructural feature sizes were found to follow a power law relationship with the quench rate. The dependence of the microhardness on microstructural length scale was also investigated and observed to follow a Hall-Petch relationship. This study indicates that laser processing is an effective method for rapidly and efficiently evaluating multiprincipal element alloys and their microstructures.

  • Structure and Phase Composition of Ti-6Al-4V Samples Produced by Direct Laser Deposition

    摘要: In this article had been carried out X-ray phase analysis of the samples obtained using direct laser deposition. Two groups of samples were studied: the first one was obtained with oscillation of laser radiation, the second one – without. The investigations have shown that in the process of direct laser deposition, the α+β phase is formed from a Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy with oscillation of laser radiation.

  • Influence of Powder Condition on Surface Properties of Cold-Resistant High-Strength Steel Produced by Direct Laser Deposition Method

    摘要: Direct laser deposition (DLD) allows creating parts of complex shapes and configurations in a single process step without using of additional equipment. Such technologies are required in the shipbuilding industry, aircrafts, gas turbines, mechanical engineering etc., where it is necessary to manufacture large-sized and complex products that have a long technological cycle for production using classical technologies. DLD makes it possible to produce parts of various alloys with mechanical characteristics at the level of the wrought alloys. The publication is described direct laser deposition of high-strength cold-resistant steels results. Besides mechanical properties of material, the exploitation properties of the structure are also significantly important. Results of corrosion, abrasive-corrosion and tribotechnical tests are shown.

  • Comparison of Titanium Powders and Products Manufactured by the Direct Laser Deposition Method

    摘要: Ti-6Al-4V powders from two different vendors and two different fraction were compared with respect to their microstructures, size-distributions, chemistries, surface appearances. In addition, the influence of these powders on the structure and properties of products manufactured by an additive direct laser deposition method were established. The main parameters that have a significant impact on the structure and properties of Ti-6Al-4V deposited parts were established.

  • The effect of different scanning strategies on microstructural evolution to 24CrNiMo alloy steel during direct laser deposition

    摘要: 24CrNiMo alloy steel is a low-alloy high strength steel and was used to fabricate engine components and brake discs. In the current study, Direct Laser Deposition (DLD) was used to additively manufacture 24CrNiMo alloy steel samples with high strength and ductility. The microstructural evolution, texture and mechanical properties of deposited samples can be affected by changing inter-layer time intervals and scanning strategy between deposited layers. The granular bainite (GB) and lath martensite (LM) inside deposited samples were obtained by inter-layer successive deposition and 2-minute intervals deposition, respectively, because of the different cooling rates of different inter-layer time intervals. The occurrence of 2-minute intervals between cladding layers leads to higher cooling rates, resulting in finer grain size. In addition, the relatively strong textures could be transformed into the weak ones since the columnar dendrites were fragmented by the different heat transfer directions resulting from a scanning strategy of 90°-rotation between cladding layers. Less inclusions and un-melted powders inside deposited samples were obtained when a scanning strategy of 90°-rotation between deposited layers was applied. The experimental results indicate that a deposited sample with excellent tensile properties and microhardness was fabricated by an optimized laser scanning strategy. The optimized scanning strategy mainly include inter-layer 2-minute intervals and 90°-rotation between deposited layers. Deposited samples fabricated by the optimized scanning strategy have comparable tensile strength and ductility to those of other forged low-alloy high strength steel. Therefore, this optimized laser scanning strategy can be applied to manufacture low-alloy steel with high tensile properties.
