[Lecture Notes in Computer Science] Hybrid Metaheuristics Volume 11299 (11th International Workshop, HM 2019, Concepción, Chile, January 16–18, 2019, Proceedings) || Optimization of the Velocity Profile of a Solar Car Used in the Atacama Desert
摘要: Global energy demand has undergone a substantial increase in past decades because of the rapid increase of the global population and the energetic consumption of new production technologies. As a result, a change is necessary in the global energy generating matrix, in which the sources originate primarily from renewable energy sources. The main renewable energy source may be solar energy, and one of its applications is solar mobility. A world-class solar racing car exists that requires a rational use of velocity and energy to minimize the time spent in a race. A total of three search metaheuristics were tested to achieve an efficient velocity profile for this car in the Atacama 2018 Solar Race: Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing and Iterated Local Search. The three methods provided similar results, with Simulated Annealing being the one that provided better solutions.

摘要: Sharing schemes are emerging in residential and business sectors to reduce the purchase and operation cost of individuals. This paper proposes a framework to support the operational management of a shared EV fleet. An optimization algorithm is developed to coordinate the charging and reservation assignment using mixed integer programming. The integration with local PV production and battery storage is taken into account. A booking algorithm is also developed to determine whether a reservation can be accepted or not. Monte Carlo simulation is performed in the case study to demonstrate an application of the proposed framework with the Swedish travel patterns. The result provides an overview about the utilization rate of the fleet with different number of EVs, which can support the investment decision of an EV sharing community. The result also shows that the EVs and battery are effectively coordinated to minimize the total cost, satisfy the reservations and comply with grid limits.

摘要: This paper presents a universal power converter building block (PCBB) with isolation transformer which can perform various functionalities such as charging (G2V), vehicle to grid (V2G) regenerative capability, and vehicle to load (V2L) feature. This converter can output different types of voltage, such as AC or DC, high voltage or low voltage, single-phase or three-phase. With different combinations of modularized PCBB, various voltage and power rating can also be achieved. The control algorithms for each operation mode are explained, including G2V, V2G, and V2L. Simulation results are accompanied to validate its capability. To achieve high power density, SiC MOSFET power module with high frequency switching is adopted along with the isolation transformer of nanocrystalline core. Overall, this paper extends a promising circuit topology of multiple practical and essential features for vehicle electrification.

Dynamic Tariff-Subsidy Method for PV and V2G Congestion Management in Distribution Networks
摘要: This paper proposes a dynamic tariff-subsidy (DTS) method for congestion management in distribution networks with high penetration of photovoltaics (PV), heat pumps (HPs) and electric vehicles (EVs) with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) function. The DTS method is an extension of the dynamic tariff method proposed in the previous study. With the DTS, the regulation prices can be positive (tariff) or negative (subsidy). The study shows that the negative regulation price is necessary and very effective to solve congestion due to feed-in power flows, such as PVs and EVs in the V2G mode. In the study, dual decomposition of a convex quadratic model is proposed in addition to a conventional method for the DTS calculation. The case studies on the Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) demonstrate the efficacy of the DTS method for congestion management in distribution networks.

摘要: In-motion wireless power transfer (WPT) has the capability to drastically increase a cruising distance of electric vehicles (EVs). A vehicle detection technique is important for a road facility to reduce standby power consumption and to prevent an unnecessary magnetic ?eld leakage. A sensorless vehicle detection method using voltage pulses has been proposed and fundamental experiments have been demonstrated with small-scale equipment. In this paper, a full-scale in-motion WPT system is implemented and a test vehicle is developed with the second generation wireless in-wheel motor (W-IWM2). The sensorless vehicle detection method is applied to the implemented in-motion WPT system and the feasibility of the proposed system is veri?ed by the driving experiment with the test vehicle.

Optimal location identification for aggregated charging of electric vehicles in solar photovoltaic powered microgrids with reduced distribution losses
摘要: The battery-powered electric vehicle finds an alternative for fossil fuel-based vehicles in the transportation sector. The charge-discharge power profiles of the battery storage systems (BSS) contribute toward distribution losses, which can be minimized by proper scheduling. Such scheduling gives better results if the charging stations are optimally placed in the solar photovoltaic (PV) powered microgrid. This paper proposes a methodology to identify the optimal location to charge the electric vehicle in the microgrid. The proposed methodology has been developed using particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based optimal power flow (OPF) with an integrated power management (IPM) algorithm. The novelty of the IPM algorithm is the coordinated charging-discharging of the multiple numbers of aBSS of the EVs to reduce the overall distribution losses of the microgrid. The proposed methodology is tested in a standard solar PV powered microgrid network, where the optimal locations to charge the electric vehicles are identified. The daily distribution loss of the network is computed for all possible charging locations of the electric vehicle in the microgrid, and it is found that the distribution loss is minimum for the identified optimal locations. Also, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, the distribution loss analysis is carried out for three test cases; i) un-optimized power flow, ii) PSO based-OPF, and iii) PSO-based OPF with IPM. The case study shows that the PSO-based OPF gives 84% reduction in daily distribution loss compared to the conventional un-optimized power flow test case. The daily distribution loss is further reduced by 8% by incorporating the IPM algorithm in the PSO-based OPF. The utility can thereby encourage the electric vehicle (EV) owners to park their EVs at the optimal locations to reduce the distribution losses.

摘要: This paper studies the electric vehicle (EV) charging scheduling problem to match the stochastic wind power. Besides considering the optimality of the expected charging cost, the proposed model innovatively incorporates the matching degree between wind power and EV charging load into the objective function. Fully taking into account the uncertainty and dynamics in wind energy supply and EV charging demand, this stochastic and multistage matching is formulated as a Markov decision process. In order to enhance the computational efficiency, the effort is made in two aspects. Firstly, the problem size is reduced by aggregating EVs according to their remaining parking time. The charging scheduling is carried out on the level of aggregators and the optimality of the original problem is proved to be preserved. Secondly, the simulation-based policy improvement method is developed to obtain an improved charging policy from the base policy. The validation of the proposed model, scalability, and computational efficiency of the proposed methods are systematically investigated via numerical experiments.

摘要: In Autumn 2018, reductive control of photovoltaic surplus energy was performed in Kyushu, Japan. This was a lost opportunity to utilize renewable energy, which could have been otherwise stored in rechargeable batteries. In this study, we simulated the absorption of the photovoltaic energy surplus by charging battery systems of a working electric vehicle considering the energy efficiency of lithium-ion battery systems to reduce the operation cost. This study clarified the quantitative effects of a real-time energy efficiency diagnosis of lithium-ion battery systems. From the simulation results, we discovered that the improvements of the charge–discharge energy loss and the economic gain of the photovoltaic energy surplus absorption depended on the input–output power of the bidirectional vehicle- to-grid charger and the amount of surplus energy. When the input–output power is sufficiently high and the ratio of surplus energy to total capacity of the battery systems is sufficiently low, is the reasonable. The real-time degradation diagnosis of the battery systems and selection considering charge–discharge energy efficiency is necessary to improve the profit from surplus energy absorption.

摘要: We introduce a new type of electric transit bus (ETB) system that uses the innovative wireless power transfer technology developed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Technology (KAIST), which is called on-line electric vehicle (OLEV). In the ETB system, the wireless-charging infrastructure installed under the road charges the fleet of electric buses that are operative over that road. The technology is innovative in that the battery in the bus is charged while it is moving over the charging infrastructure. Unlike conventional electric vehicles, the OLEV-based ETB system is a road–vehicle integrated system. Since charging occurs while the vehicle is operational, the performance of the operation depends on the system integration of the vehicle and the road in which the charging infrastructure is embedded. In this paper, we qualitatively analyze the benefits of the OLEV-based ETB system from the energy logistics perspective. We then present two analytical economic design optimization models. The first model is for an ETB system operating in a “closed environment” with no traffic and no heavy vehicle interactions. The OLEV-based shuttle bus currently operating on the KAIST campus constitutes such a case. The second model is the “open environment model” and considers an ETB system operating in normal traffic conditions. We also present the result of numerical case studies for the optimization models. The goal of this paper is to present an innovative ETB system and a logical design framework for commercializing and deploying that system.

Implementation of Dual-Circuit System for Additional Power Supply Based on Photovoltaic Converters for Electric Vehicles
摘要: The article presents a process of designing the photovoltaic (PHV) converters system for an electric vehicle, shows the scheme of photovoltaic converters usage, the results of electric vehicle motion modeling with photovoltaic converters, and the results of road tests of an electric vehicle with an additional power source based on photovoltaic converters. The photovoltaic converters system and low-voltage system of an electric vehicle have a shared low-voltage battery, which allows the implementation of two schemes of electric vehicle power supply. Initially, the aggregate base was selected, then, taking into account the e?ciency of each device included in the design of the new electric vehicle, mathematical modeling was carried out and showed good e?ciency results of the photovoltaic converters system. Then, the prototype was manufactured and tested. The aggregate base included the battery of photovoltaic converters assembled in a certain way on the vehicle roof, the MPPT (maximum power point tracking) controller, the bu?er storage device in the form of a 12 V battery, and the DC (direct current) converter that allows transmitting electricity from the bu?er battery to the high-voltage system. Modeling of the electric vehicle motion considered typical operating modes, including energy costs for the operation of assistant systems of the electric vehicle, as well as including the consumption of low-voltage components. The tests were carried out according to the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). As a result, implementation of photovoltaic converters with 21% e?ciency allowed for the power reserve of the electric vehicle to be increased by up to 9%.
