    摘要: In this paper, a solution to the double curl equation with generalized Coulomb gauge is proposed based on the vectorial representation of the magnetic vector potential. Traditional Coulomb gauge is applied to remove the null space of the curl operator and hence the uniqueness of the solution is guaranteed. However, as the divergence operator cannot act on edge elements (curl-conforming) directly, the magnetic vector potential is represented by nodal elements, which is too restrictive, since both the tangential continuity and the normal continuity are required. Inspired by the mapping of Whitney forms by mathematical operators and Hodge (star) operators, the divergence of the magnetic vector potential, as a whole, can be approximated by Whitney elements. Hence, the magnetic vector potential can be expanded by the edge elements, where its vectorial nature is retained and only the tangential continuity is required. Finally, the original equation can be rewritten in a generalized form and solved in a more natural and accurate way using finite-element method.

    摘要: During high intense laser target interaction a strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is generated which can potentially disturb the well performing of the experiment. The electromagnetic interference (EMI) due to the EMP not only affects devices present in the vacuum chamber but also in the target area where it may compromise the performance or operation of electronics and device controllers. In this work we report the measurements of EMP inside the laser target area at Centro de Laseres Pulsados (CLPU) during high intense laser-target interaction experiments. The experimental results show how the amplitude and spectrum of the EMP in the target area is different from the one inside the target chamber (TC). At last Finite element method (FEM) simulation results are shown and compared with experimental results.

  • Efficient Finite Element Analysis of Axially Symmetrical Waveguides and Waveguide Discontinuities

    摘要: A combination of the body-of-revolution and finite element methods is adopted for full-wave analysis of waveguides and waveguide discontinuities involving angular field variation. Such an approach is highly efficient and much more flexible than analytical techniques. The method is performed in two different cases: utilizing a generalized impedance matrix to determine the scattering parameters of a single waveguide section and utilizing periodic boundary conditions without sources. In order to confirm the validity and efficiency of both approaches, a few examples of axially symmetrical structures have been analyzed. The obtained results are compared to those obtained from commercial software and available in the literature.

  • Residual stress and welding distortion of Al/steel butt joint by arc-assisted laser welding-brazing

    摘要: The thermo-elastic?plastic finite element method (FEM) is used to simulate the thermo-mechanical behavior of Al/steel tungsten inert gas (TIG) arc-assisted laser welding-brazing (A-LWB) butt joint. The influence of material nonlinearity, geometrical nonlinearity and work hardening on the welding process is studied, and the differences in the welding temperature field, residual stress and welding distortion by A-LWB and by single laser welding-brazing (SLWB) are analyzed. The results show that the thermal cycle, residual stress distribution and welding distortion by the numerical simulation are in good agreement with the measured data by experiments, which verifies the effectiveness of FEM. Compared with the SLWB, A-LWB can make the high-temperature distribution zone of weld in width direction wider, decrease the transverse tensile stress in the weld and reduce the distribution range of longitudinal tensile stress. And the welding deformation also decreases to some extent.

  • Accurate and efficient analysis of the upward heat flow in InGaP/GaAs HBTs through an automated FEM-based tool and Design of Experiments

    摘要: This paper presents an extensive analysis aimed at quantifying the impact of all the key technology parameters on the upward heat flow in state‐of‐the‐art InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs) for various emitter areas and shapes. Extremely accurate thermal simulations are conducted in a relatively short time with a tool relying on a commercial 3‐D finite‐element method (FEM) solver and an in‐house routine for automated geometry construction, optimized mesh generation, sequential solution, and data storing/processing. Design of Experiments is used to define a thermal resistance model as a function of the aforementioned parameters on the basis of a few FEM data.

    摘要: In our day to day life differential pressure sensor can be used in much application. This type of pressure sensors are used for measuring the difference between two different pressure levels. Mostly bulk micro machined fabrication tool is used for fabrication process. Hence these type sensors have low cost and reliable than normal conventional sensor. This sensor is designed mainly to compare both the pressure below and above the liquid and flow rates and measures changes in pressure across restriction. The output differential pressure sensor varies with respect to the change in pressure level at up (or) down cantilever beam. When the pressure value at bottom side is high, when the membrane deflect towards forward direction (i.e.) moves upward. when the pressure value at which the bottom side is lower than the membrane deflects to backward direction (moves downward). This design is mainly used in domestic and industrial application.
