    摘要: This paper studies the optimization problem of topological active net (TAN), which is often seen in image segmentation and shape modeling. A TAN is a topological structure containing many nodes, whose positions must be optimized while a prede?ned topology needs to be maintained. TAN optimization is often time-consuming and even constructing a single solution is hard to do. Such a problem is usually approached by a “best improvement local search” (BILS) algorithm based on deterministic search (DS), which is inef?cient because it spends too much efforts in nonpromising probing. In this paper, we propose the use of micro-differential evolution (DE) to replace DS in BILS for improved directional guidance. The resultant algorithm is termed deBILS. Its micro-population ef?ciently utilizes historical information for potentially promising search directions and hence improves ef?ciency in probing. Results show that deBILS can probe promising neighborhoods for each node of a TAN. Experimental tests verify that deBILS offers substantially higher search speed and solution quality not only than ordinary BILS, but also the genetic algorithm and scatter search algorithm.

    摘要: Modular multilevel converter (MMC) topology is discussed intensively as a crucial part of future dc grids, especially to integrate offshore wind power. While generalized voltage-source converter models are usually utilized for multiterminal investigations, conclusions on transient dc grid behavior and on ac–dc interactions during distorted ac grid conditions are hard to draw or are limited in their signi?cance. In this paper, a MMC-based dc grid framework with a tripartite focus on an internal converter as well as dc and ac grid control is presented. Besides, an evaluation of the implemented MMC model that incorporates the available arm sum voltage, a decoupled ac and dc current system control concept that is suitable to handle unbalanced voltage conditions is derived for HVDC applications. Combined with wind farm arrays, this collocation allows a meaningful examination of hybrid ACDC structures and the implemented dc grid control methodologies. To provide proof of the universal applicability of this framework, simulations are carried out on a ?ve-terminal system.

    摘要: This paper presents a novel energy-management method for a microgrid that includes renewable energy, diesel generators, battery storage, and various loads. We assume that the microgrid takes part in a pool market and responds actively to the electricity price to maximize its pro?t by scheduling its controllable resources. To address various uncertainties, a risk-constrained scenario-based stochastic programming framework is proposed using the conditional value at risk method. The designed model is solved by two levels of stochastic optimization methods. One level of optimization is to submit optimal hourly bids to the day-ahead market under the forecast data. The other level of optimization is to determine the optimal scheduling using the scenario-based stochastic data of the uncertain resources. The proposed energy management system is not only bene?cial for the microgrid and customers, but also applies the microgrid aggregator and virtual power plant. The results are shown to prove the validity of the proposed framework.

  • Self-Organized Conductive Gratings of Au Nanostripe Dimers Enable Tunable Plasmonic Activity

    摘要: Plasmonic metasurfaces based on quasi-one-dimensional (1D) nanostripe arrays are homogeneously prepared over large-area substrates (cm2), exploiting a novel self-organized nanofabrication method. Glass templates are nanopatterned by ion beam-induced anisotropic nanoscale wrinkling, enabling the maskless con?nement of quasi-1D arrays of out-of-plane tilted gold nanostripes, behaving as transparent wire-grid polarizer nanoelectrodes. These templates enable the dichroic excitation of localized surface plasmon resonances, easily tunable over a broadband spectrum from the visible to the near- and mid-infrared, by tailoring the nanostripes’ shape and/or changing the illumination conditions. The controlled self-organized method allows the engineering of the nanoantennas’ morphology in the form of Au-SiO2-Au nanostripe dimers, which show hybridized plasmonic resonances with enhanced tunability. Under this condition, superior near-?eld ampli?cation is achievable for the excitation of the hybridized magnetic dipole mode, as pointed out by numerical simulations. The high e?ciency of these plasmonic nanoantennas, combined with the controlled tuning of the resonant response, opens a variety of applications for these cost-e?ective templates, ranging from biosensing and optical spectroscopies to high-resolution molecular imaging and nonlinear optics.

  • Performance analysis of the Single-Phase Grid-Connected Inverter of a photovoltaic system in water and wind applications

    摘要: Single-phase grid connected inverters are nowadays broadly developed and tested in various types of applications especially in photovoltaic systems. The main aim of the inverter control strategy is to extract the maximum energy from the PV system which corresponds to the maximum power at certain conditions. However, the MPPT methods are also important in other renewable energy conversion systems. This paper analyses the performance of a commercially available photovoltaic inverter in water and wind systems. Presented models are implemented in a laboratory test bench in the form of torque characteristics realised by an induction motor fed by the inverter with vector control. The parameters are scaled into relative variables to provide a proper performance comparison. Presented tests include step response to assess the performance of a system dynamic. The dynamic tests showed a fast response of the investigated systems. The MPPT tracking accuracy tested under realistic profiles is similar for both cases: 98% and 96% respectively for the wind and water systems. These results prove the satisfactory performance of the MPPT of the PV microinverter in these applications.

  • D-band waveguide-to-microstrip transition implemented in eWLB packaging technology

    摘要: In this paper, based on fractional calculus, the arbitrary-order fractor is proposed to implement the analog circuit realization of the arbitrary-order Fractional Hop?eld Neural Networks (FHNNs) and the fractor-based FHNNs are ?rst proposed to apply to the hardware security of defense against chip cloning attacks. Since the fractor is the most important circuit component needed to implement the FHNNs, the hardware achievement of the arbitrary-order fractor is the primary task and crux for the state-of-the-art application of the FHNNs to defense against chip cloning attacks. Motivated by this need, based on fractional calculus, the arbitrary-order fractor is proposed to implement the analog circuit realization of the arbitrary-order FHNNs and the fractor-based FHNNs are proposed to apply to defense against chip cloning attacks. The ?rst step is the proposal for the analog circuit realization of an arbitrary-order FHNN. In particular, the hardware achievement of the arbitrary-order net-grid-type capacitive scaling fractor of the arbitrary-order FHNNs is chie?y analyzed in detail. The circuit con?guration of the arbitrary-order net-grid-type scaling fractor can be achieved more convenient than any other discovered approximate implementation of the arbitrary-order fractor. Finally, the approximation performance of the arbitrary-order fractor of the FHNNs is analyzed, the arbitrary-order FHNNs are achieved by analog circuit realization, and its ability of defense against chip cloning attacks is illustrated in detail experimentally. The main contribution of this paper is the proposal for the ?rst preliminary attempt of a feasible hardware implementation of the arbitrary-order FHNNs for defense against chip cloning attacks. Different order FHNNs can be achieved and distributed for different users, respectively. Thus, in a similar way to frequency band, order band can also be allocated ef?ciently that is another emerging promising electronic resource.

    摘要: The solar power penetration in distribution grids is growing fast during the last years, particularly at the low-voltage (LV) level, which introduces new challenges when operating distribution grids. Across the world, distribution system operators (DSO) are developing the smart grid concept, and one key tool for this new paradigm is solar power forecasting. This paper presents a new spatial–temporal forecasting method based on the vector autoregression framework, which combines observations of solar generation collected by smart meters and distribution transformer controllers. The scope is 6-h-ahead forecasts at the residential solar photovoltaic and medium-voltage (MV)/LV substation levels. This framework has been tested in the smart grid pilot of évora, Portugal, and using data from 44 microgeneration units and 10 MV/LV substations. A benchmark comparison was made with the autoregressive forecasting model (AR—univariate model) leading to an improvement on average between 8% and 10%.

    摘要: This paper presents a signi?cant change in current electric power grid response and recovery schemes by developing a framework for proactive recovery of electric power assets with the primary objective of resiliency enhancement. Within the proposed framework, which can potentially present the next generation decision-making tool for proactive recovery, several coordinated models will be developed including: 1) the outage models to indicate the impact of hurricanes on power system components; 2) a stochastic pre-hurricane crew mobilization model for managing resources before the event; and 3) a deterministic post-hurricane recovery model for managing resources after the event. Proposed models will be extended to ensure applicability to a variety of electric power grids with different technologies and regulatory issues. The theoretical and practical implications of the developed models will push the research frontier of proactive response and recovery schemes in electric power grids, while its ?exibility will support application to a variety of infrastructures, in response to a wide range of extreme weather events and natural disasters.
