  • Graphene Fabrication by Using Femtosecond Pulsed Laser and Its Application on Passively Q-Switched Solid-State Laser as Saturable Absorber

    摘要: This paper presents an independent operation of the rotor-side converter (RSC) and grid-side converter (GSC) for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy conversion system under unbalanced grid voltage conditions. In this paper, the RSC is controlled to achieve four different control targets, including balanced stator current, sinusoidal rotor current, smooth stator active and reactive powers, and constant DFIG electromagnetic torque. The GSC is commanded to keep the dc voltage at a constant value. Additional feedback compensators using resonant regulators for the RSC are employed, and the decompositions of the positive and negative sequence components and calculations of the rotor negative current references can be avoided. Another similar compensator is used in the GSC to suppress the dc voltage ?uctuates and remove the GSC reactive power oscillations without the stator or rotor power information. The proposed method can make the RSC and GSC available to an independent operation with a simple implementation for higher reliability. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy for both the RSC and GSC under unbalanced grid voltage conditions.

  • An Omnidirectional Radial Parallel-Plate Waveguide Antenna Using Wideband Mode Converters

    摘要: In this paper, a nonlinear controller with a current-limiting property is proposed to guarantee accurate dc output voltage regulation and unity power factor operation for single-phase pulse-width-modulating rectifiers without the need of a phase-locked-loop (PLL). The proposed current-limiting controller is fully independent of the system parameters and can guarantee asymptotic stability and convergence to a unique solution for the closed-loop system using nonlinear control theory. Without requiring the instantaneous measurement of the grid voltage, a PLL, an external limiter, or a saturation unit, the proposed strategy guarantees that the input current of the rectifier will always remain below a given value. An analytic framework for selecting the controller parameters is also presented to provide a complete controller design procedure and it is also proved that the current-limiting property is maintained even when the grid voltage drops. Extensive experimental results are presented to verify the proposed controller when the load changes, the reference dc output voltage changes, and the grid voltage drops.

    摘要: In this paper, based on fractional calculus, the arbitrary-order fractor is proposed to implement the analog circuit realization of the arbitrary-order Fractional Hop?eld Neural Networks (FHNNs) and the fractor-based FHNNs are ?rst proposed to apply to the hardware security of defense against chip cloning attacks. Since the fractor is the most important circuit component needed to implement the FHNNs, the hardware achievement of the arbitrary-order fractor is the primary task and crux for the state-of-the-art application of the FHNNs to defense against chip cloning attacks. Motivated by this need, based on fractional calculus, the arbitrary-order fractor is proposed to implement the analog circuit realization of the arbitrary-order FHNNs and the fractor-based FHNNs are proposed to apply to defense against chip cloning attacks. The ?rst step is the proposal for the analog circuit realization of an arbitrary-order FHNN. In particular, the hardware achievement of the arbitrary-order net-grid-type capacitive scaling fractor of the arbitrary-order FHNNs is chie?y analyzed in detail. The circuit con?guration of the arbitrary-order net-grid-type scaling fractor can be achieved more convenient than any other discovered approximate implementation of the arbitrary-order fractor. Finally, the approximation performance of the arbitrary-order fractor of the FHNNs is analyzed, the arbitrary-order FHNNs are achieved by analog circuit realization, and its ability of defense against chip cloning attacks is illustrated in detail experimentally. The main contribution of this paper is the proposal for the ?rst preliminary attempt of a feasible hardware implementation of the arbitrary-order FHNNs for defense against chip cloning attacks. Different order FHNNs can be achieved and distributed for different users, respectively. Thus, in a similar way to frequency band, order band can also be allocated ef?ciently that is another emerging promising electronic resource.

    摘要: The design and real-time hardware-in-the-loop implementation of a hybrid synchrophasors and GOOSE-based automatic synchronization algorithm are presented in this paper. Automatic synchronization is performed by utilizing the synchrophasor measurements from two commercial phasor measurement units (PMUs), while the coordinated control commands to automatic voltage regulator and/or turbine governor control and trip command to the circuit breaker are issued using IEC 61850-8-1 GOOSE messages. The algorithm is deployed inside the PMU using the protection logic equations, and direct communication between the PMUs is established to minimize the communication latencies. In addition, the algorithm is tested using a standard protection relay test-set, and automatic test sequences are executed to validate its performance. It is concluded that the hybrid synchrophasor and GOOSE-based automatic synchronization scheme ensures minimum communication latencies, reduces equipment cost, facilitates interoperability, and performs automatic reconnection adequately.

    摘要: We describe the general concept and practical feasibility of a dc-based open energy system (OES) that proposes an alternative way of exchanging intermittent energy between houses in a local community. Each house is equipped with a dc nanogrid, including photovoltaic panels and batteries. We extend these nanogrids with a bidirectional dc–dc converter and a network controller so that power can be exchanged between houses over an external dc power bus. In this way, demand-response ?uctuations are absorbed not only by the local battery, but can be spread over all batteries in the system. By using a combination of voltage and current controlled units, we implemented a higher-level control software independent from the physical process. A further software layer for autonomous control handles power exchange based on a distributed multiagent system, using a peer-to-peer like architecture. In parallel to the software, we made a physical model of a four-node OES on which different power exchange strategies can be simulated and compared. First results show an improved solar replacement ratio, and thus a reduction of ac grid consumption thanks to power interchange. The concept’s feasibility has been demonstrated on the ?rst three houses of a full-scale OES platform in Okinawa.

  • Experimental performance assessment of a 2.25 kWp Rooftop PV system installed in the desert environment: a case study of Ghardaia, Algeria

    摘要: The outcomes of an experimental study performed on a single grid-connected photovoltaic plant on the roof of parking are disclosed in the present paper. The PV system is located in southern Algeria (Latitude 32.26 N°, and longitude 03.46E°) at the Renewable Energy Applied Research Unit (URAER), Ghardaia, Algeria. This location is a desert and with a semi-arid climate. The performance results had been monitored for one year 2018. The present study aims to investigate the effect of seasonal variation on output parameters of PV systems. The results of some index parameters such as performance ratio (PR), array losses, system losses and yields (reference yield, array yields and system yields) are presented and discussed. Experimental results show that an essential variation in performance parameters has been seen for different seasons. The results show the maximum energy generated, reference yield, array yield, final yield, capacitor factor, capture and system losses in summer were 307,11 kW h/kWp, 5,35 kW h/kWp/day, 5,01 kW h/kWp/day, 4,74 kW h/kWp/day, 20,17%, 0,34 h/day and 0,27 h/day, respectively, while the maximum value of performance ratio (PR) was observed in winter (93, 06%). The grid is fed with a power of 3327, 15 kWh along the year.

    摘要: The paper presents a modularized control strategy of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) system, including the grid-side converter (GSC) and rotor-side converter (RSC), under unbalanced and harmonic grid voltage. The sequence decomposition process and complicated control reference calculation can be avoided in the proposed control strategy. From the perspective of power grid friendly operation, the control targets of DFIG system in this paper are chosen as: 1) smooth active and reactive power injected into the power grid; 2) balanced and sinusoidal current injected into the power grid. The RSC and GSC can work as two independent modules and the communication between RSC and GSC can be removed. Furthermore, the third harmonic current component, dc-link voltage fluctuation, and electromagnetic torque pulsation under the different control targets are theoretically analyzed. Finally, the availability of the proposed modularized control strategy of DFIG system under unbalanced and distorted grid voltage is verified by experiment results.

    摘要: In this paper, we approach the problem of forecasting a time series (TS) of an electrical load measured on the Azienda Comunale Energia e Ambiente (ACEA) power grid, the company managing the electricity distribution in Rome, Italy, with an echo state network (ESN) considering two different leading times of 10 min and 1 day. We use a standard approach for predicting the load in the next 10 min, while, for a forecast horizon of one day, we represent the data with a high-dimensional multi-variate TS, where the number of variables is equivalent to the quantity of measurements registered in a day. Through the orthogonal transformation returned by PCA decomposition, we reduce the dimensionality of the TS to a lower number k of distinct variables; this allows us to cast the original prediction problem in k different one-step ahead predictions. The overall forecast can be effectively managed by k distinct prediction models, whose outputs are combined together to obtain the final result. We employ a genetic algorithm for tuning the parameters of the ESN and compare its prediction accuracy with a standard autoregressive integrated moving average model.

  • Techno-economic investigation of a grid-connected photovoltaic-biomass hybrid system for shaping the sustainable electrification in Ayeyarwady delta of Myanmar

    摘要: This article presents the techno-economic investigation of the Grid-connected Hybrid system by harnessing the abundant potentials of Renewables in Ayeyarwady Delta of Myanmar. The focused village in this study, Ma Yan Chaung, is geographically situated at latitude 16°35'7"N and longitude 94°54'7"E. Its annual average Solar GHI (Global Horizontal Irradiation) is 5.08 kWh per m2 per day. It is included in the electrified (Grid arrived) village tract of Moke Soe Kwin and located in the Myaungmya Township. Site survey to that village was conducted in May, 2019. According to the collected data, the available Biomass is 480 tonnes per day and the estimated demand of the focused village is 2296 kWh per day with 361.7 kW peak. The thousands of different models are simulated in the powerful Microgrid tool, HOMER (Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources) Pro (version 3.13.3). Then, the feasible Grid-connected system is proposed with 100 kW PV; 1,800 kW Biomass; 45 kW Converter; total NPC (Net Present Cost) 4,255,082 $; levelized COE (Cost of Energy) 0.01575 $ per kWh; Initial Capital 524,000 $, and Operating Cost 219,337 $. Annual Energy Sold to Grid is 15,045,299 kWh and Average Monthly Energy Sold is 1253775 kWh. The simulated results significantly demonstrate the good performance and the available benefits of the proposed system. Moreover, this system can shape the Sustainable Electrification to tackle the Climate Crisis in Ayeyarwady Delta Region of Myanmar.

    摘要: This paper presents a high-power 240–290 GHz waveguide enclosed two-dimensional (2-D) grid heterostructure barrier varactor (HBV) frequency multiplier. A 35 mW of output power is produced at 247 GHz with an input power of 900 mW. The operational bandwidth is tunable within a 50 GHz span by the use of an input tuner able to adjust the input matching of the 2-D grid HBV frequency multiplier. Tuning is achieved by moving a suspended dielectric slab in the input waveguide.
