Use and Analysis of Color Models in Image Processing
摘要: The use of color image processing is divided by two factors. First color is used in object identification and simplifies extraction from a scene and color is powerful descriptor. Second, humans can use thousands of color shades and intensities. Color Image Processing is divided into two areas full color and pseudo-color processing. In this processing various color models are used that are based on color recognition, color components etc. A few papers on various applications such as lane detection, face detection, fruit quality evaluation etc based on these color models have been published. A survey on widely used models RGB, HSI, HSV, RGI, etc. is represented in this paper.

摘要: Novel technique for data transmission from air–gap secured computer is considered in this paper. Backlight modulation of screen using BFSK allows data transmission that is not visible for human. The application of digital camera equipped and telescope allows data recovery during the lack of the user’s activity. Demodulation scheme with automatic selection of demodulation ?lters is presented. Di?erent con?guration of data transmission parameters and acquisition hardware were tested.

摘要: Phenotyping is the process of estimating the physical and chemical properties of a plant. Traditional phenotyping is labor intensive and time consuming. These measurements can be obtained faster by collecting aerial images with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and analyzing them using modern image analysis technologies. We propose a method to estimate plant centers by classifying each pixel as a plant center or not a plant center. We then label the center of each cluster as the plant location. We studied the performance of our method on two datasets. We achieved 84% precision and 90% recall on one dataset consisting of early stage plants and 62% precision and 77% recall on another dataset consisting of later stage plants.

摘要: The trend towards customized products and the shortening of product lifecycles leads to changing requirements for production systems. Their flexibilization is focus of different approaches, among others regarding possibilities to alter the mechanical configuration. Within, modularization and robotics serve as key enablers, allowing a flexible composition of plant sections as well as a free manipulation of objects. One major challenge is the adaptive robot programming, especially for free positionable plant modules. This paper presents a modular architecture for offline robot programming based on position measurement via image processing, robot path simulation and a novel concept for data management using asset administration shells for standardized data access and exchange. In particular, the concept for localizing objects via two dimensional data codes is described and evaluated.

摘要: Orthopaedics deals with surgery and treatment of the human musculoskeletal system. It also involves degenerative conditions, trauma, sports injury, tumors, and congenital issues. Orthopaedic doctors are always interested to take an X-Ray image of injured parts of patient’s body for better diagnosis. In an X-Ray imaging, electronic radiation is passed in the human body for capturing bone images. After X-Ray image retrieval, a doctor examines X-Ray image manually. It is not that easy to detect most of the major diseases/issues related with the bones just by visualizing an X-Ray image, although in some cases, it is possible, but till that time, diseases may reached towards next or serious stage for example bone fracture. The main problem with X-Ray images is that they may be blurred, out of focus, improperly bright and noisy, which makes examination more dif?cult. One of the solutions to all above problems can be computerized image processing of human being’s X-Ray images. In this research paper, we have presented an algorithm to detect bone fracture from X-Ray images of human ?ngers using image processing.

A new design on image processing scheme for smart car
摘要: As a product of comprehensive discipline, smart car involve artificial intelligence, computer vision, mechanical design, control science and vehicle engineering, etc. In this study, we take the NXP smart car competition as the background and put forward a new image processing scheme for smart car. The purpose of the image processing is to identify the different types of track from continuously transformed video images, to filter out noise and interference in the images, to identify the obstacles and extract the available left and right edges of the track. The proposed new scheme can effectively extract and classify the image features of different road types and give corresponding image processing algorithms. Experiments show that this scheme can efficiently deal with the probe images and provide accurate image information for smart car. Thus, the proposed scheme has a high practical value in applications, such as smart car contests and self-driving car industry.

Low-Power Optical Sensor for Traffic Detection
摘要: 4-D-computed tomography (4DCT) provides not only a new dimension of patient-specific information for radiation therapy planning and treatment, but also a challenging scale of data volume to process and analyze. Manual analysis using existing 3-D tools is unable to keep up with vastly increased 4-D data volume, automated processing and analysis are thus needed to process 4DCT data effectively and efficiently. In this paper, we applied ideas and algorithms from image/signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning to 4DCT lung data so that lungs can be reliably segmented in a fully automated manner, lung features can be visualized and measured on the fly via user interactions, and data quality classifications can be computed in a robust manner. Comparisons of our results with an established treatment planning system and calculation by experts demonstrated negligible discrepancies (within ±2%) for volume assessment but one to two orders of magnitude performance enhancement. An empirical Fourier-analysis-based quality measure-delivered performances closely emulating human experts. Three machine learners are inspected to justify the viability of machine learning techniques used to robustly identify data quality of 4DCT images in the scalable manner. The resultant system provides a toolkit that speeds up 4-D tasks in the clinic and facilitates clinical research to improve current clinical practice.

摘要: Titanium-coated surfaces are prone to tiny defects such as very small cracks, which are not easily observable by the naked eye or optical microscopy. In this study, two new thresholding methods, namely contrast-adjusted Otsu’s method and contrast-adjusted median-based Otsu’s method, are proposed for automated defect detection system for titanium-coated aluminum surfaces. The two proposed methods were compared with four existing thresholding techniques in terms of accuracy and speed of defect detections for images of 700, 900, and 1000 dpi obtained using high-resolution scanning. Experimental results have shown that the proposed contrast-adjusting methods have performance similar to minimum error thresholding (MET) and are generally better than Otsu’s method.

摘要: In the transportation systems engineering field, there is a fast growing interest to use small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for structural inspections. Of particular importance is the development of image processing algorithms to process UAS collected data for transportation infrastructure (e.g., bridges) defect detection/classification purposes. Results from preliminary experiments using image data collected with a UAS have shown the presence of significant image noise, which negatively impacts the efficiency of algorithms to detect/classify structural defects. This research study presents an ongoing effort to understand the relationship between UAS camera vibrations to image noise. Ultimately, the objective is to identify maximum camera vibration frequencies that will result in acceptable image noise levels for effective detection and classification of defects.

Design of estimators for restoration of images degraded by haze using genetic programming
摘要: Restoring hazy images is challenging since it must account for several physical factors that are related to the image formation process. Existing analytical methods can only provide partial solutions because they rely on assumptions that may not be valid in practice. This research presents an e?ective method for restoring hazy images based on genetic programming. Using basic mathematical operators several computer programs that estimate the medium transmission function of hazy scenes are automatically evolved. Afterwards, image restoration is performed using the estimated transmission function in a physics-based restoration model. The proposed estimators are optimized with respect to the mean-absolute-error. Thus, the e?ects of haze are e?ectively removed while minimizing overprocessing artifacts. The performance of the evolved GP estimators given in terms of objective metrics and a subjective visual criterion, is evaluated on synthetic and real-life hazy images. Comparisons are carried out with state-of-the-art methods, showing that the evolved estimators can outperform these methods without incurring a loss in e?ciency, and in most scenarios achieving improved performance that is statistically signi?cant.
