Single-pixel 3D reconstruction via a high-speed LED array
摘要: Three-dimensional reconstruction can be performed in many ways, among which photometric stereo is an established and intensively investigated method. In photometric stereo, geometric alignment or pixel-matching between two-dimensional images under different illuminations is crucial to the accuracy of three-dimensional reconstruction, and the dynamic of the scene makes the task difficult. In this work, we propose a single-pixel three-dimensional reconstructioning system utilizing structured illumination, which is implemented via a high-speed LED array. By performing 500kHz structured illumination and capturing the reflected light intensity with detectors at different spatical locations, two-dimensional images of different shadows with 64×64 pixel resolution are reconstructed at 122 frame per second. Three-dimensional profiles of the scene are further reconstructed using the surface gradients derived by photometric stereo algorithm, achieving a minimum accuracy of 0.50 mm. Chromatic three-dimensional imaging via an RGB LED array is also performed at 40 frame per second. The demonstrated system significantly improves the dynamic performance of the single-pixel three-dimensional reconstruction system, and offers potential solutions to many applications, such as fast three- dimensional inspection.

LED Arrays of Laser Printers as Valuable Sources of Electromagnetic Waves for Acquisition of Graphic Data
摘要: Classi?ed information may be derivable from unintended electromagnetic signals. This article presents a technical analysis of LED arrays used in monochrome computer printers and their contribution to unintentional electromagnetic emanations. Analyses were based on realistic type sizes and distribution of glyphs. Usable pictures were reconstructed from intercepted radio frequency (RF) emanations. We observed di?erences in the legibility of information receivable at a distance that we attribute to di?erent ways used by printer designers to control the LED arrays, particularly the di?erence between relatively high voltage single-ended waveforms and lower-voltage di?erential signals. To decode the compromising emanations required knowledge of—or guessing—printer operating parameters including resolution, printing speed, and paper size. Measurements were carried out across di?erences in construction and control of the LED arrays in tested printers.

Single-Cell Optogenetic Control of Calcium Signaling with a High-Density Micro-LED Array
摘要: Precise optogenetic control, ideally down to single cells in dense cell populations, is essential in understanding the heterogeneity of cell networks. Devices with such capability, if built in a chip scale, will advance optogenetic studies at cellular levels in a variety of experimental settings. Here we demonstrate optogenetic control of intracellular Ca2+ dynamics at the single cell level using a 16-μm pitched micro-LED array that features high brightness, small spot size, fast response, and low voltage operation. Individual LED pixels are able to reliably trigger intracellular Ca2+ transients, confirmed by fluorescence microscopy, control experiments, and cross-checked by two genetically-coded Ca2+ indicators. Importantly, our array can optogenetically address individual cells that are sub-10 μm apart in densely packed cell populations. These results suggest the possible use of the micro-LED array towards a lab-on-a-chip for single-cell optogenetics, which may allow for pharmaceutical screening and fundamental studies on a variety of cell networks.

摘要: SPV based LED Streetlight has advantages over other conventional lighting systems as no power conversion is needed. LED work on DC and energy optimization is possible by controlling the duty cycle of the LED driver. The components of Solar Fed LED Street lighting system are SPV array, MPPT, dc-dc converter and battery unit. In this paper, the intensity of solar fed Street light is controlled from traffic hours to non-traffic hours which results in saving the electricity consumption. A hybrid street light model is also designed and developed. The simulation studies are performed in Matlab-Simulink environment.

A 2.6 μW Monolithic CMOS Photoplethysmographic (PPG) Sensor Operating with 2 μW LED Power for Continuous Health Monitoring
摘要: Photoplethysmography (PPG) enables wearable vitals monitoring. Nevertheless, it is still limited by the few mA of the LEDs driving current. We present a PPG sensor integrating an array of dedicated pinned-photodiodes (PPD) with a full readout chain integrated in a 0.18 μm CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) process. The sensor features a total input referred noise of 0.68 e?rms per PPD, independently of the input light, and achieves a 4.6 μW total power consumption, including the 2 μW LED power, at 1.38 bpm heart rate average error.
