摘要: This paper describes the design and demonstration of planar transmit-arrays operating in X-band with 1-bit phase quantization and based on wideband high efficiency unit cells. The unit cell consists of two identical square patch antennas loaded by C-loop slots and interconnected in their centers by a metalized via hole. The proposed transmit-array achieves a maximum directivity of 25.1 dBi and a gain of 22.8 dBi. Radiation efficiency of 56.3% is also obtained with a 1-dB gain bandwidth of up to 9.2% around 9.85 GHz and very low cross-polarization levels. The beam-steering up to 30° is achieved by tilting the focal source.

Modified hybrid multilevel inverter with reduced number of switches for PV application with smart IoT system
摘要: Internet of things (IoT) wind farm foundation is constructed using small wind turbines with cordless communication. Direct storage of holes in ultrathin Ni(OH) <sub/>2</sub> on Fe <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>3</sub> photoelectrodes for integrated solar charging battery-type supercapacitors
摘要: Energy storage is a very significant issue for utilization of solar energy due to its discontinuous and unstable energy flux. Herein, for the first time, we propose a Fe2O3@Ni(OH)2 core–shell nanorod array as a photoelectrochemical battery-type supercapacitor for the direct storage of solar energy. Under light illumination, Fe2O3 absorbs solar energy and produces electron–hole pairs, while Ni(OH)2 stores the photo-generated holes, which can be released as electricity when the light is switched off. In addition, by controlling the valence band position of the semiconductor and the thickness of Ni(OH)2, the side reaction of water oxidation (electrolyte decomposition), which is harmful for the applications of a photoelectrochemical supercapacitor, can be completely suppressed. As a consequence, the specific capacitance of the Fe2O3@Ni(OH)2 photoelectrochemical supercapacitor is enhanced up to 20.6 mF cm?2 at a discharge current density of 0.1 mA cm?2, which is about 4.5 times that of BiVO4/PbOx reported in a previous study. This study offers a very promising device for the direct storage of solar energy and deepens our understanding on the interface charge transfer between a photoelectrode and a battery-type capacitive material.

摘要: Highly integrated multilayered patch antenna arrays are proposed in this paper for 60 GHz wireless communications. Electromagnetic coupling between two stacked patches is used for improving the broadband performance. Three different structures of single column 4-element arrays are presented with center and corporate feeding networks. Maximum gain of 12.2 dBi and <-10 dB return loss in the entire unlicensed frequency band 57-66 GHz is measured. Furthermore, a compact 4x16 antenna array (41 mm x 13 mm) is presented with 18.7 dBi maximum gain, 8 GHz (57-65) bandwidth and 7? HPBW (half power beam width) in H plane.

摘要: The forthcoming 5G communication system is expected to adopt millimeter-wave bands in order to satisfy the ever-growing traffic explosion. The coverage efficiency was proposed in earlier works to evaluate the beam-scanning capability and coverage performance of array antennas implemented in 5G user equipment. However, when multi-subarray configurations are introduced into user equipment, the coverage efficiency fails to reflect the coverage performance of each subarray under the influence of housing. In this paper, we use the effective beam-scanning efficiency to evaluate the coverage performance of a subarray covered by a superstrate. The results provide valuable insight into 5G mobile antenna design.

摘要: A new varactor controlled series-fed scanning array antenna is introduced. At the center of the design is a varactor controlled phase shifter, where varactor capacitance is changed by applying different bias voltages which alters the progressive phase between series-fed dipole input currents and allows array pattern to be scanned (-25, 0, 25 degrees). Good return loss (greater than 10 dB), high gain (10 dB), and beam scanning (within plus minus 25 degrees) with nulls between two consecutive beams are achieved.

摘要: In this paper, a dual-band 5G millimeter-wave antenna array for 37-40 GHz mobile application is proposed. The proposed antenna has two resonances generated by a monopole branch and a loop branch. The two branches are located on the surface of a ceramic block, and the antenna is mounted on PCB. Possible locations of the MIMO antenna array in a mobile phone are studied and an optimized location for the MIMO antenna system is proposed.

摘要: A wideband 45° polarized element with simple structure has been proposed. With the aid of a corporate feeding network and substrate integrated waveguide, a 4 × 4 array antenna has been designed and fabricated using printed-circuit-board technology. Experiments show that the array covers over 24.4% bandwidth with gains around 20.0 dBi, which validates that it can be used for future 5G applications.

摘要: In this paper, a circular phased antenna array has been constructed on the finger ring for the 28 GHz 5G communication systems. The antenna array has been verified in free space and with user’s hand phantom on three fingers by the simulations. It has been found that such antenna structure is resilient towards the user effects and has a stable coverage efficiency characteristics. The coverage efficiency of 80 % with the realized gain of 5 dBi has been observed when the ring simulated with the user’s hand. The correlation between high power loss density with antenna de-tuning has also been observed.

摘要: Directional modulation (DM) is a physical layer security technique based on antenna arrays and so far the polarisation information has not been considered in its designs. To increase the channel capacity, we consider exploiting the polarisation information and send two different signals simultaneously at the same direction, same frequency, but with different polarisations. These two signals can also be considered as one composite signal using the four dimensional (4-D) modulation scheme across the two polarisation diversity channels. In this paper, based on cross-dipole arrays, we formulate the design to find a set of common weight coefficients to achieve directional modulation for such a composite signal and examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
