摘要: One of the most critical issues that arises when controlling a robot is the necessity to locate itself in the environment. Ranging from industrial processes applications to outdoor mobile robots, landmarks are used to such purpose: by recognizing them, the robots are able to know where they are with the aid of computer vision. Fiducial markers are the cheapest and one of the most common solutions to this issue: 2D planar patterns that embed some information that can be identified using artificial vision techniques. Many different typologies of markers as well as image processing algorithms are being implemented nowadays, using C++ / Python / MATLAB? libraries and ROS as middleware. In this work we have evaluated the robustness of various fiducial marker typologies, documenting the main technical aspects of the used implementations and commenting how each algorithm operates. Aggregated results are presented and discussed, evaluating the different implementations tested.

Performance evaluation of different photovoltaic technologies in the region of Ifrane, Morocco
摘要: This study aims at analyzing and comparing several indices that evaluate the performance of different grid connected photovoltaic technologies, namely amorphous silicon (a-Si), Polycrystalline silicon (pc-Si), and Monocrystalline silicon (mc-Si) generating around 2 kWp each and set up a forecast studies for future perspectives. These technologies are connected to a low voltage (400 V) three phase electrical grid of Al Akhawayn University (33° North, 5° West) facing south on a flat surface, 32° tilted with zero azimuth, and without including any tracking system. This work is done within the framework of Propre.ma project aiming at establishing a photovoltaic yield maps throughout Morocco. The experimental and theoretical horizontal irradiances of Ifrane's region, simulated with the Davies and Hay model on the MATLAB's software, are compared in the following study. Besides, the evaluation of different technologies is based on the (annual/monthly/daily) AC energy output, the performance ratio, the system efficiency, and the capacity factor that are calculated and measured from data gathered between October 2014 and the end of 2018. An economic analysis was carried out in order to define the levelized cost of electricity of the three technologies. Eventually, the obtained results confirm that the polycrystalline technology is the most cost-effective technology for the region of Ifrane.

摘要: Visual object tracking is one of the most significant research areas in computer vision. Many trackers have been proposed and achieved great success in recent years. Accompanying these excellent trackers, many datasets of image sequences and methods for evaluating them have also been put forward. However, we can hardly find a set of sequences which is specially regard to air targets even if it is very vital in civil aviation as well as in military domain, especially in air defence tasks. On the account of this, a series of aerial object image sequences with different attributes have been collected from the internet and made out to dataset in the form of OTB-100 Sequences, which is a very famous dataset for generic target tracking.

A Non-Contact Method to Assess Contractility on the Langendorff’s Model Based on CCD Imaging
摘要: Cardiac performance measurements of the isolated beating heart are essential for the evaluation of new pharmaceutical heart treatments. In the small animal, the means for these measurements usually are direct pressure changes in the left ventricle. Although volume equations are also used, they usually are indirect correlates of the pressure changes as opposed to true anatomical or dimensional measurements. In order to acquire detailed cardiac physiological data echocardiographic studies have been used in alive small animals. However, these are experimental techniques that demand a high level of expertise and expensive equipment. A new easy to use and fast charge-coupled device (CCD) analysis tool has been developed by our team for the isolated beating heart, based on morphometric changes of the projected heart‘s surface. It uses a commercially available fast CCD camera technology, home-made software and an image acquisition-analysis method to extract true dimensional changes. Its significance relies on acquisition and assessment of the cardiac anatomical parameters, using non-contact methods. A high definition CCD camera is used to acquire images from the isolated beating heart. Subsequently, image analysis software is used to eliminate noise and provide morphometric data (heart chamber dimensional changes) which are transformed to myocardial contractility indices and heart rate measurements. In conclusion, the new method presented in this paper is contactless, unbiased, cost effective, simple and can be used to evaluate the cardiac function in an ex vivo working model.

摘要: Image quality assessment plays an important role in iris recognition systems because the system performance is affected by low quality iris images. With the development of electronic color imaging, there are more and more researches about visible wavelength (VW) iris recognition. Compared to the near infrared iris images, using VW iris images acquired under unconstrained imaging conditions is a more challenging task for the iris recognition system. However, the number of quality assessment methods for VW iris images is limited. Therefore, it is interested to investigate whether existing no-reference image quality metrics (IQMs) which are designed for natural images can assess the quality of VW iris images. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of 15 selected no-reference IQMs on VW iris biometrics. The experimental results show that several IQMs can assess iris sample quality according to the system performance.

Secure Communication in Non-Geostationary Orbit Satellite Systems: A Physical Layer Security Perspective
摘要: Satellite communication systems serve as an indispensable component of wireless heterogeneous networks in 5G era for providing various critical civil and military applications. However, due to the broadcast nature and full accessibility of wireless medium, such systems exist serious security threats. As an effort to address this issue, this paper, for the first time, investigates the secure communication in a non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite system from a physical layer security perspective. Specifically, we focus on the downlink of an NGSO satellite which provides services to a fixed earth station and is wiretapped by a fixed eavesdropper. We first apply three types of orbiting models to characterize the movement state of the satellite. Based on the orbiting models, we then provide theoretical analysis for the secure communication performance of such a system. The expressions of two fundamental performance metrics, secrecy capacity and secrecy outage probability, are derived in closed-form for any system time. Finally, we conduct extensive simulations to validate our theoretical performance analysis and illustrate the security performance in a practical NGSO satellite communication system.

摘要: More and more image processing applications are intended to run on mobile devices. This trend is visible also in medical industry, which have very strict reliability and safety requirements. Increased power consumption and inefficient image processing can affect both of these factors significantly. More over, it affects the user experience as well. In this paper authors investigates the performance and power consumption of several different numeric algorithms implemented on iPhone device. The comparison is made between CPU and GPU based solutions. Authors evaluated the test scenarios involving common used operations: matrix multiplication, thresholding and Canny’s edge detection. The results showed that GPU based solution can be up to 4 times faster as CPU based one, with similar power footprint in particular cases. All measurements have been gathered without hardware interference nor jailbreaking of the device. Finally authors discuss possible application considerations and scenarios in medical related image processing smartphone apps.
