摘要： The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been a stable item of laser safety standards for many years, considered so ubiquitous that its real purpose and applicability to all laser use applications are questioned. This paper explores the effectiveness of SOPs in the research and development (R&D) environment, particularly in universities, where the dynamic nature of research makes it challenging to follow a set path. The author suggests that traditional SOPs may not achieve their goal in such settings and proposes alternatives like risk analysis and on-the-job training (OJT) to enhance compliance and safety.

摘要： In order to transfer 3000-MW capacity of electricity from the mine-mouth coal-fired power plants in South Sumatra to the load center in Java, PLN Indonesia intends to build the Java-Sumatra Power Interconnection System. The scopes of these works of the Power Interconnection System are including: high voltage alternating current (HVAC) 500 kV Transmission Line in Java, HVAC 500 kV Transmission Line in Sumatra, high voltage direct current (HVDC) 500 kV Transmission Line in Java, HVDC 500 kV Transmission Line in Sumatra, and HVDC 500 kV Java-Sumatra submarine cables. This paper will analyze the financial feasibility study to ensure whether the project has economic benefit, and the asset would be used effectively and efficiently along its benefit period using life cycle cost analysis (LCCA). In this paper, an LCCA will be simulated to analyze three alternatives and to decide which alternative is the most profitable. Monte Carlo simulations and a break-even chart for a period of 30 years' operation of the interconnection system are part of the LCCA models to achieve the objectives of this paper.

Screening for retinopathy of prematurity by telemedicine in a tertiary level neonatal intensive care unit in France: Review of a six-year period
摘要： To analyze the prevalence and risk factors for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and severe (treatment-requiring) ROP. A retrospective study was conducted in a level III neonatal unit in Bordeaux, France, from 2009 to 2015. Four hundred and nineteen preterm infants who were screened for ROP exclusively by RetCam were included. ROP of any degree was diagnosed in 27.68% of infants. Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 ROP was found in 44%, 46%, 9% and 1% of subjects, respectively. No stage 5 ROP was observed. 28/419 infants (6.6%) were treated exclusively with laser photocoagulation. No intravitreal anti-VEGF injections or surgical treatments were performed. No infants born at > 31 weeks or with BW > 1110 g required ROP treatment. On multivariate analysis, risk factors for ROP development were low birth weight, low gestational age at birth, high duration of invasive mechanical ventilation, shock or use of vasopressors. On multivariate analysis, risk factors for severe, treatment-requiring ROP were male gender, gestational age ≤ 27 weeks and Apgar score at 5 minutes ≤ 7. In our 6-year series, ROP was successfully identified on screening exclusively by telemedicine, and no surgical treatment was required. This study identifies known ROP risk factors, but the Apgar score at 5 minutes as a risk factor for severe ROP requires further studies in order to be confirmed.
