  • LCO-FLL control for single-phase utility integrated single-stage solar PV system

    摘要: This study presents a limit cycle oscillator-frequency locked loop (LCO-FLL) control for single-phase utility integrated single-stage photovoltaic (PV) system. The proposed topology increases the utility of the voltage-source converter (VSC), particularly in the absence of PV generation. It has the potential to load harmonics current mitigation. It estimates harmonic free load current accurately with low computational requirement due to the absence of cumbersome mathematical algorithm and transformation techniques. It provides reactive power compensation, both in the absence and the presence of PV generation, improves transient response during dynamics in load and varying irradiance conditions. The total harmonic distortions of utility current and utility voltage, compliance the limit of the IEEE-519 standard. The proportional–integral (PI) regulator regulates the DC-link voltage of VSC input to the reference DC-link voltage. The incremental conductance-based technique derives the reference DC-link voltage. The dynamic behaviour of the LCO-FLL-based control is improved using a feed-forward loop for the PV power sharing. It also reduces loading on the PI controller. Test results demonstrate satisfactory performance of LCO-FLL-based control.

    摘要: In the present day scenario due to change the rapid demand and over global climate change in increased the sustainable Distributed generation (DG) resources such as fuel , wind and solar. Society moving to the conventional resources like as solar, wind etc. To fill surplus demand need alternative sources like solar cell. It has a distinct concern in this scenario as it is pollution free, clean, unlimited and free. In this Paper we are design a micro-grid model by using PV cell with help of boot converter. This model is basically applicable in rural or islanded load system. Here we also discussing the operation of autonomous or grid connected microgrid model by using PV cell with help of Boost converter. PV model is completed by using MATLAB SIMULINK and different current Voltage and power levels. The MATLAB SIMULINK is done in island mode as well as grid-connected mode at the both end, grid end and load end. This study aims to understand the change of fault value Compared to healthy surgery that may serve as a cornerstone Selection of protection strategies that may work effectively both operating modes.

  • An Integration of Solar Photovoltaic Generation to Three-Phase Utility Using Adaptive Control Algorithm

    摘要: This paper deals with the modified weighted least-mean square (LMS) control strategy for single-stage, solar photovoltaic (PV) grid-integrated system to enhance the power quality at common coupling point. This control algorithm has fast convergence, fewer oscillations, fast dynamic response, and good steady-state performance than the other LMS-based control algorithm. The incremental conductance-based maximum power point tracking technique is used to obtain the crest power from the PV array, which is used to sustain DC link voltage by proportional–integral controller. The fundamental component of load current is extracted using this proposed control technique to estimate the reference currents of grid. This proposed control algorithm addresses various power quality concerns such as harmonics reduction, power factor correction, and load unbalancing. The VSC of PV array-interfaced grid system feeds real power to the loads, and surfeit real power is injected into the distribution network. The dynamic performance of proposed single-stage PV-fed three-phase system is validated into the MATLAB\Simulink environment at nonlinear loads, and simulated results are validated with test results on an experimental prototype at different environmental conditions such as varying solar irradiation and load unbalancing. Test results are found satisfactory, and total harmonic distortions of grid currents are observed well within limits of the IEEE-519 standard.

    摘要: Modular multilevel converters (MMC) are presently the converter topology of choice for voltage-source converter high-voltage direct-current (VSC-HVDC) transmission schemes due to their very high efficiency. These converters are complex, yet fast and detailed electromagnetic transients simulation models are necessary for the research and development of these transmission schemes. Excellent work has been done in this area, though little objective comparison of the models proposed has yet been undertaken. This paper compares for the first time, the three leading techniques for producing detailed MMC VSC-HVDC models in terms of their accuracy and simulation speed for several typical simulation cases. In addition, an improved model is proposed which further improves the computational efficiency of one method. This paper concludes by presenting evidence-based recommendations for which detailed models are most suitable for which particular studies.
