    摘要: To improve the interoperability and misalignment tolerance of the inductive power transfer (IPT) system, the concepts of circular rotating magnetic field control and elliptical rotating field orientated control(FOC) are proposed in this paper. The method of analogy analysis between LIM (liner inductive motor) and IPT is adopted to improve the magnetic field distribution characteristics. Detailed output voltage derivation of circular pads and DD pads under misalignment are given. An approximate calculation model is built to study the influence of end effect and gap variation on magnetic field distribution. Experimental results verify the laws of circular magnetic field and elliptical magnetic field.

  • Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer for Cost-Effective Wireless Sensor Networks using Frequency-Scanned Beaming

    摘要: A simple adaptive 1D frequency-s scanning method is proposed for radiative Wireless Power Transfer (RWPT) systems in low-power Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). As a proof of concept, a directive leaky-wave antenna that scans 1 W output RF power in the angular range from ±10° at 2.4 GHz to ±37° at 2.5 GHz, is used to power a WSN covering an area of 1.2 m x 1.2 m. It is shown that, using a frequency-scanned antenna, a wider area than using a non-scanned directive antenna can be powered without additional expensive equipment. The WPT protocol is described, showing that any sensor in the WSN can select the optimum transmission channel in the 2.4 GHz band, based on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements, as the coordinator performs a scheduled frequency hopping phase. This maximizes the WPT beaming efficiency and thus the transferred DC power. The optimum channel selection can be performed periodically, which makes the system robust against channel state changes.

    摘要: The difficulty of modeling a dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system for Electric Vehicles(EVs) charging is that its mutual inductance changes with the coil offset, so we have to build a dynamic model of the system. In this paper,we propose a modeling method by using equivalent circuit method and state space averaging.Moreover,based on the set of system parameters,comparing the results of the simulation experiment with the result of the model calculation.At last, the performance indexes of the system under the different buck duty cycle are observed. The simulation results of these indexes are also basically consistent with the model calculation results, which further verify the accuracy of the model.At the same time,we found that the selection of duty cycle has a great influence on the performance indexes.

    摘要: As an important component of Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system for transmitting energy, the coupler, composed of coils and shielding, is worth studying parameters effect on the system performance. When the WPT system is applied to trams, the primary coupler is installed between two rails, and the secondary coupler is installed at the bottom of the carriages. The magnetic field produced by the coupler has an effect on carriages and rails, which need to be analyzed. In this paper, the influences of coupler parameters on system performance are analyzed. The mathematical model of coupler is found. The measure to improve the metal influences of the vehicle body is put forward, and the correctness of the analysis is verified through preliminary experiments.

  • Application of FRA to Improve the Design and Maintenance of Wireless Power Transfer Systems

    摘要: Frequency response analysis (FRA) plays an important role in the assessment of the mechanical integrity and hence, reliability of high-voltage power transformers. Wireless power transfer (WPT) system introduced by Tesla a 100 years ago based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction is similar to a conventional power transformer. Therefore, the reliability of a large WPT system can also be evaluated using FRA measurement. When the WPT system is constructed, the electrical components and the desired transfer distance need to be ascertained accurately. Furthermore, the structure of the winding and the electrical characteristic of the components in WPT systems may vary due to aging or fault events. FRA measurement can examine the discrepancy between the WPT system parameters and the reference fingerprint data to provide cost-effective condition monitoring-based maintenance scheme for the WPT systems. This paper presents a detailed circuit analysis of a two-coil inductively coupled WPT model in different compensating topologies to accomplish efficient energy transfer. Then, FRA measurement is used to detect the variation in the amplitude and the phase angle of the developed circuit input impedance in a wide frequency range. In addition, displacements due to the placement of ferrite material and the variation of the transfer distance between the transmitter and receiver units are investigated through practical measurements.

    摘要: In recent years, wireless power transfer technology has received considerable attention because of its wide range of applications. Almost all literature focuses on resistance load or constant voltage load, but constant power load is never considered. The constant power load voltage is unstable, thus stabilization is required. In order to perform it without resorting to discontinuous operation and avoid big voltage transients, this paper proposes a control strategy for a secondary side with a single converter. It is based on the combination of synchronous rectification and symmetric phase shift, without communication with the primary side. While the primary side is not manipulated, the AC/DC converter regulates the amplitude of the secondary coil voltage and stabilizes the constant power load voltage on the DC side. In this paper, the control concept, the design and the stability analysis are provided. The proposed control is verified through experimental results both in a static scenario.

  • A Generic Receiver Architecture for MIMO Wireless Power Transfer With Nonlinear Energy Harvesting

    摘要: This letter investigates a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless power transfer system under practical nonliner energy harvesting (EH) models. We propose a new generic energy receiver (ER) architecture consisting of N receive antennas and L recti?ers, for which one power splitter is inserted after each antenna to adaptively split the received radio frequency (RF) signals among the L recti?ers for ef?cient nonlinear RF-to-direct current (dc) conversion. With the proposed architecture, we maximize the total harvested dc power at the ER, by jointly optimizing the transmit energy beamforming at the energy transmitter and the power splitting ratios at the ER. Numerical results show that our proposed design by exploiting the nonlinearity of EH signi?cantly improves the harvested dc power at the ER, as compared to two conventional designs.

    摘要: The contactless transmission of electrical power has many important advantages in modern technology through the lack of electrical contacts and therefore of their ageing, the facile use in aggressive or explosive environments, in marine environments, medical applications, in electrical vehicles, in robotics. The efficiency is comparable to the galvanic contact transmission at small and medium distances but there is also the ability to simultaneously transmit energy and data. The paper makes a review of the main recent Romanian and foreign publications on the main techniques of contactless power transmission, regarding the optimization of the coupler 'figure of merit', and compensation topology, using both circuit analysis and FEM analysis. A recent application to contactless transmission via conductive fluids is discussed. Also, there are discussed the perspectives of the research, development and use of the described methods in the following years, in the scope of achieving interoperability, increasing the efficiency and the power transfer.

    摘要: Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system for Electric Vehicle (EV) battery charging application popularity is increasing due to the safety, convenience, and eco-friendly issue. Nowadays, Lithium-Ion battery is well known as one of the potential for EV. However, Constant Current/Constant Voltage (CC/CV) control strategy needs to be adopted for achieving high efficiency charging and maintaining battery lifetime. By analyzing the gain curve, Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) can be used to perform CC/CV charging due to the load variation. The operating switching frequency needs to be considered and limited to prevent instability of the system. A typical drawback in the PFM control is the use of serial communication module for feedback data transmission from the secondary to the primary side. Therefore, the rectifier side controlled WPT can be a solution to remove the feedback communication part. In this paper, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) applied in the secondary side (rectifier) for achieving CC/CV charging is investigated and compared with the traditional PFM control. The comparison study is verified by implementing a 3kW Series-Series (SS) WPT topology in the Power Simulation (PSIM) software. It shows that the secondary side PWM control strategy can achieve 94% efficiency during the 35 Ω load in CC mode, while the primary side PFM control only can achieve 88% efficiency.

    摘要: Multiple transmitters are widely used to solve the problem of lateral misalignment between coils in wireless power transfer (WPT). The effective control method is one of the guarantees to improve the performance of the WPT system. Based on theoretical modeling and mechanism analysis, this paper proposes a novel switching control method to select the optimal transmitter, which includes the control criteria of single transmitter and dual transmitters. Compared to other control methods of using coupling coefficient, the proposed method is easier to implement switching control and improves system reliability. The experimental results show that the proposed switching control method can effectively select the optimal working mode and increase lateral misalignment tolerance for the WPT system.
