[IEEE 2018 International Conference On Advances in Communication and Computing Technology (ICACCT) - Sangamner, India (2018.2.8-2018.2.9)] 2018 International Conference On Advances in Communication and Computing Technology (ICACCT) - Mutual Coupling Reduction Using Double Negative Metamaterial Based Dual-Line Split-Ring Resonator (DLSRR) Arrays in Microstrip Patch Antenna Arrays for L-Band and X-Band Applications
摘要: A double negative metamaterial based dual-line split-ring resonator (DLSRR) array is proposed in this paper to mitigate mutual coupling between coplanar elements of 1 × 2 microstrip patch arrays operating at frequencies of 10 GHz (for X-band Application) and 1.575 GHz (for L-band Application). The edge-to-edge spacing between the patches is 0.2λ0 at 10 GHz and 0.1λ0 at 1.575 GHz. The metamaterial decoupling structure comprises of an array of SRRs connected at the corners by two vertical lines and is introduced in between the elements of 1 × 2 arrays. Simulation results show mutual coupling reductions of 7 dB at 10 GHz and 13.2 dB at 1.575 GHz with no noticeable changes in the gain. The validation of simulation results for the array operating at 10 GHz is done using experimental measurements.

Study of Horizontally Polarized Omnidirectional Microstrip Antenna Arrays
摘要: This paper presents two microstrip antenna arrays for horizontally polarized (HP) omnidirectional application, namely rectangular patch antenna array and H-shaped patch antenna array. There are eight patch elements placed with back-to-back structure, four patch elements on each side. Antenna arrays are fed by a split eight power divider. The H-shaped patch antenna array has better omnidirectional performance than rectangular patch antenna array. The H-shaped antenna array is fabricated and measured. Both simulated and measured results show that the bandwidth of the designed H-shaped antenna array is 36 MHz with a center frequency 2.35 GHz. Horizontally polarized gains are greater than 7 dBi over the resonant band (S11 < ?10 dB), while the cross-polarization level is less than ?25 dB. The proposed H-shaped antenna array has high directivity (half-power beam-width is only 20 deg) and good omnidirectional performance (gain variation less than 1.5 dBi) at the center frequency.

摘要: This paper presents our study on a THz imaging system using a sparse periodic linear antenna array (SPA) with large element spacing, consisting of only 14 transmitters and 16 receivers at 220GHz to achieve a horizontal field of view (FOV) of about 0.8m. The image of a realistic target scenario, i.e. the metallic objects concealed under a thin clothing in front of a human body phantom is reconstructed with data from an effective simulation based on a combined method between moment and ray launching-geometrical optics (RL-GO) algorithms in FEKOTM. The results have shown that a resolution of 3.5mm at 4m distance can be achieved in this THz imaging system. In addition, the study demonstrates compressive sensing (CS) reconstruction method is capable to provide a comparable image quality with a dramatic reduction of sampling data, which can also be applied in practical products to improve the imaging rate.

A SIMPLE 2×3 BEAM-FORMING NETWORK WITH A 2-BIT PHASE SHIFTER FOR FOUR-BEAM RECONFIGURATION
摘要: A simple 2×3 recon?gurable beam-forming network (R-BFN) for four-beam recon?guration application is designed and implemented. The proposed R-BFN with two input ports and three output ports consists of a 2:1 power divider, a 90? hybrid, a 180? hybrid and a 2-bit phase shifter. The 2-bit phase shifter has two states: one is a 180? phase shifter (State 1); the other is a 0?/360? phase shifter (State 2). By introducing the 2-bit phase shifter, the constant phase di?erences of three output ports can be recon?gured. When the proposed R-BFN is connected to an antenna array, a four-beam recon?guration is obtained. Simulated and measured results show that good impedance matching, high port isolation, equal power division, and constant phase di?erence have been achieved simultaneously within the operation band of 2.4–2.6 GHz. The capability of the proposed R-BFN to recon?gure beams is also veri?ed experimentally by using a 2.5 GHz dipole array.

摘要: This paper demonstrates the design and characterization of an on-board 4x2 corporate-fed differential patch array at 79 GHz band to equip a fully differential millimeter-wave radar transceiver. The array is based on two single-ended 4x1 arrays and it has a measured peak gain of more than 14 dBi over the 77-81 GHz band with a simulated efficiency of more than 60%.

A low-profile 28-GHz Rotman lens-fed array beamformer for 5G conformal subsystems
摘要: This paper reports on the first demonstration of an experimental millimeter-wave (mm-wave) beamforming based on the conformal Rotman lens. The passive switched-beam network is intended for operation in the 28-GHz band, covering the 18-38 GHz range, for the deployment in the fifth generation (5G) subsystems. The primary objective of this work is to conduct the feasibility of designing a beamforming network (BFN) based on the liquid-crystal polymer substrate, and to evaluate the performances in terms of the scattering (S)-parameters and surface currents for the proposed flexural case of the convex-circumferential bending. A prototype has been accurately fabricated, and a setup has also been deployed to conduct the measurements. The performance in terms of the linear progressive phase behavior, as the main figure of merit, has been shown. The BFN exhibits significant characteristics to be used as a low-profile unit of the transceivers with the in-built beam steering for the conformal 5G subsystems.

摘要: Compressive sensing (CS) has attracted considerable attention in many imaging applications owing to its high resolution and data under-sampling capabilities. However, the performance differs in many imaging applications due to different formulations of the sensing matrix. This paper presents a comparative study of CS array imaging under switched array, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) array and phased array configurations. Numerical simulations concerning their imaging performance are provided considering factors like sparsity level, element spacing and noise condition.

摘要: Highly integrated multilayered patch antenna arrays are proposed in this paper for 60 GHz wireless communications. Electromagnetic coupling between two stacked patches is used for improving the broadband performance. Three different structures of single column 4-element arrays are presented with center and corporate feeding networks. Maximum gain of 12.2 dBi and <-10 dB return loss in the entire unlicensed frequency band 57-66 GHz is measured. Furthermore, a compact 4x16 antenna array (41 mm x 13 mm) is presented with 18.7 dBi maximum gain, 8 GHz (57-65) bandwidth and 7? HPBW (half power beam width) in H plane.

摘要: A microstrip array antenna has been developed to achieve a high-gain antenna in millimeter-wave band. However, microstrip antennas suffer from high feeding-loss in high frequency band. Therefore, comb-line antenna with traveling-wave operation is applied. To reduce loss increasing due to manufacturing errors in millimeter-wave band and to realize an arbitrary linear polarization, we propose rounded radiating elements for comb-line antennas. The performance of its microstrip linear array with 45-degree polarization is evaluated by simulation in millimeter-wave band.
