Multiplexed OAM Wave Communication with Two-OAM-Mode Antenna Systems
摘要: In order to improve channel capacity, waves carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) in communication systems have attracted much attention. A two-OAM-mode antenna system, which works at 2.4 GHz, is proposed in this paper. And a signal transmission experiment is performed based on a pair of the proposed antenna systems. The proposed antenna system, which has the planar structure, is composed of two patch antenna arrays, two feeding networks and one common ground plane. Then, re?ection coef?cients, transmission coef?cients, radiation patterns and phase distributions of the proposed antenna system are measured and the measurement results verify the effectiveness of this antenna system in generating two OAM modes (OAM mode 1 and OAM mode 2). The measurement results are in good agreement with the simulation results. Then the signal transmission system is built based on a pair of the proposed antenna systems. Isolation between OAM mode 1 transceiver channel and OAM mode 2 transceiver channel is more than 20 dB. Video signals modulated by FBMC (Filter Bank Multicarrier) are de-modulated simultaneously at the receiving terminal. It means that the two-OAM-mode antenna system has the potential to enhance the channel capacity.

摘要: A wideband 45° polarized element with simple structure has been proposed. With the aid of a corporate feeding network and substrate integrated waveguide, a 4 × 4 array antenna has been designed and fabricated using printed-circuit-board technology. Experiments show that the array covers over 24.4% bandwidth with gains around 20.0 dBi, which validates that it can be used for future 5G applications.

摘要: This paper presents our study on the ghost images suppression for THz imaging system with large sampling spacing which are achieved by both sparse antenna array (SPA) of large element spacing (>8λ) and mechanical scanning. The ghost images in synthetic aperture imaging algorithm is due to the grating lobes of the array radiation pattern, so we propose a ghost image suppression method based on a weighting function in the traditional imaging algorithm. Therefore, the large sampling spacing between array elements for synthetic aperture THz imaging becomes possible, which can further reduce the cost and data acquisition time. And this study will help to guide the scheme design of SPA for THz imaging system.

摘要: In this work we present a study to determine the parameters affecting the power radiated in specific directions by antenna arrays with tilted elements. We developed an efficient Method of Moments (MoM) for the analysis of linear arrays with arbitrarily tilted dipole elements, in free space or in the presence of a backing reflector. By using this analysis method, we study the radiation characteristics of arrays of stacked dipoles over a ground plane, highlighting the variation of the patterns as a function of the inter-element distance and the angle of inclination of the element. It is shown that, for large arrays (i.e. with more than 10 elements), the shape of the active element pattern does not change significantly as a function of the number of elements, but it depends on the inter-element distance and the skew angle of the array elements. A few examples to show this capability are presented.

摘要: Global System Reflectometry (GNSS-R) is a passive sensing method to measure properties of the Earth’s surface, of oceans, or of the atmosphere by analyzing reflected navigation signals from GNSS satellites such as GPS (Global Positioning System). The reflected signals can be measured with ground based, air borne, or space based sensors, and the applications reach from altimetry, ocean wind retrieval, soil moisture to vegetation growth analysis. The principle of GNSS-R was presented a few decades ago. Meanwhile, GNSS-R is already used in ground based GNSS sites, performance analyses/demonstrations for in-orbit measurements are carried out, and orbit missions are ongoing. The present study introduces the concept and some of its variations. It describes initial and ongoing research, and it presents propagation aspects of a future CubeSat mission to measure the height of oceans and ice areas and study the sea ice extend. Finally, the design of a L-band patch antenna array is presented that will be used to detect both the direct and the reflected GNSS signals.

摘要: The concept of metasurface antennas based on electrically small resonators was recently introduced and has opened a new window into the design of high gain antennas. In the earlier work, a linearly polarized metasurface antenna was designed and fabricated. In this work, we present the design of a circularly polarized metasurface antenna. An array of 8 × 8 cross-shaped resonators was designed to operate at 3 GHz with an overall array size of 12 cm × 12 cm (1.2 (cid:540) × 12 (cid:540)). By feeding the resonators with appropriate phases, we achieved circular polarization with a high gain of approximately 12 dBi.

摘要: Beamspace channel estimation is essential for wideband millimeter-wave (mmWave) MIMO with lens antenna array to achieve the substantial increase in data rates, but with a considerably reduced number of radio-frequency chains. However, most of existing beamspace channel estimation schemes are designed for narrowband mmWave systems, while a very few wideband schemes assume that the beamspace channel enjoys the ideal common support in frequency domain. In this paper, inspired by the classical successive interference cancellation for multi-user detection, we propose an efficient successive support detection (SSD) based beamspace channel estimation scheme without the assumption of common support. Specifically, we first demonstrate that each path component of the wideband beamspace channel exhibits a unique frequency-varying sparse structure. Based on this, we then estimate all sparse path components one by one. For each path component, its supports at different frequencies are jointly estimated to improve the estimation accuracy, and then its influence is removed to estimate the remained path components. Once all path components have been estimated, the wideband beamspace channel can be recovered at a low complexity. Simulation results verify that the proposed SSD based beamspace channel estimation scheme is able to achieve higher accuracy than existing wideband schemes.

摘要: The periodic paperclip-shaped (PPS) structure has been employed to suppress strong mutual coupling between antenna elements for microstrip antenna array in MIMO wireless communication system. The special decoupling structure consists of three paperclip-shaped units periodically placed at the centre of the two narrow patches with the adjacent patches spacing of 0.1λ (λ free space frequency), providing the bandstop characteristic to keep out the strong mutual coupling between antenna elements. By using the proposed special bandgap structure, more than 36 dB mutual coupling reduction between microstrip antenna elements is achieved at the centre frequency 5.0 GHz without any resonant frequency shift. Note that inserting periodic paperclip-shaped structure could concentrate on strong power towards the particular side by changing current distribution and propagation direction, so the slight gain enhancement has been obtained by comparing to the antenna array without PPS structure. Additionally, this PPS structure is also suitable for antenna array with other frequency by adjusting size of the PPS structure.

摘要: In this paper, a 12-port 5G multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array for micro wireless access points is studied. By integrating four F-shaped open slot antennas and eight F-shaped electric antennas, the proposed antenna array supports 4 × 4 MIMO in the LTE bands 42/43 (3.4–3.8 GHz), and 8 × 8 MIMO in the 4.9-GHz band/LTE band 46 (4.8–5.925 GHz). In the operation bandwidth, high total efficiency (> 70%), apparent radiation diversity characteristic and low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC, < 0.01) are obtained.

摘要: The paper describes two microstrip antennas realized on Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate and operating in the 28 GHz band attracting a lot of attention recent years. The antennas are both have fan-shaped radiation patterns effective for covering wide angle sectors by communication base stations either in indoor or outdoor scenarios. The narrow pattern (4.5 degree) in elevation provides high antenna gain of 17 dBi (90-degree sector) and 19 dBi (45-degree sector) ensuring high communication distance. Each designed antenna includes two patch arrays with orthogonal vertical and horizontal polarizations. Special techniques were implemented to achieve the isolation between the two arrays of each antenna as high as 40 dB that allows supporting MIMO operation with high modulation order. Both antennas are simulated in CST Microwave Studio and accurately measured. Measurement results confirmed high antenna performance that makes it perspective for practical use in various communication devices.
