In-band phase deviation minimization method for wideband tunable phase shifter
摘要: This article provides a novel approach to analyze and design wideband tunable reflection-type phase shifter (RTPS) with low in-band phase deviation (IBPD) error. The proposed RTPS consists of coupled lines where through and coupled ports are terminated with varactor diodes. The coupled lines can minimize the parasitic elements of varactor diode to achieve high phase shift range (PSR). In addition, the measured frequency-dependent capacitance of varactor diode was used in the analytical analysis to obtain minimum IBPD error and high PSR. For experimental demonstration, phase shifter was fabricated at the center frequency of 2.5 GHz. The measured results show that the fabricated circuit achieved 126.85° PSR with ±6.48° IBPD error for 500 MHz bandwidth (BW). In addition, the measured maximum insertion loss variation and input/output return losses are within ±0.34 dB and higher than 16.85 dB within 500 MHz BW, respectively.

Compact Wideband Reflective/Absorptive Bandstop Filter With Multitransmission Zeros
摘要: Novel wideband re?ective bandstop ?lters (RBSFs) and absorptive bandstop ?lters (ABSFs) with high stopband rejection (SR) and good frequency selectivity are proposed. Based on a coupled line (CL) with an open-circuited stub, a broad stopband response with three transmission zeros (TZs) is implemented in a compact circuit con?guration. Two modi?ed CL structures are loaded at the ports resulting in two additional TZs. In addition, a grounded resistor is introduced to absorb unwanted signals in the stopband. For demonstration, the ?ve-zero RBSFs and three-zero ABSFs operating at 2 GHz are designed and built. The re?ective ?lter shows a 35-dB SR with 79.5% relative bandwidth (RB). The absorptive ?lter with 69.5% RB of 24-dB SR achieves an all-passband 12.2-dB return loss. Good agreements between simulated and measured results are observed.

Simple Coupled-Line Tunable Bandpass Filter With Wide Tuning Range
摘要: In this paper, a tunable bandpass filter using coupled line with a wide tuning range is proposed. The proposed filter has a simple structure which is composed of a coupled-line section and two pairs of varactors. Meanwhile, simultaneously tuning on bandwidth and center frequency are introduced by varactors. The tunability is mainly realized by varactors connected to one end of the coupled line and varactors between port and coupled line provides an impedance matching. A theoretical analysis is presented to illustrate the tunability by using even- and odd-mode theory. Additionally, the detailed effect of the two types of varactors is researched, respectively. To verify the concept, a prototype is designed, fabricated, and measured. The transmission zero exhibited in measurement is introduced by bias circuits. The measured results show that the tunable bandpass filter achieves a tunable center frequency of 0.494-1.257 GHz (87.15%) and a 3-dB bandwidth of 0.282-0.943 GHz (334%).

Compact quad-band band-pass filters using stepped-impedance coupled-line resonators
摘要: In this article, compact quad-band band-pass filters are realized by using stepped-impedance coupled-line quad-mode resonators (SICLQMRs). The compactness of the quad-mode resonator relies in its folded structure without extra space between the parallel lines. Unlike stepped-impedance resonators, SICLQMRs provide more design freedoms for controlling the four resonating frequencies since the even- and odd-mode equivalents can be separately assigned with characteristic impedances. Internal and external couplings are also parallel couplings, resulting in very compact dimensions of the filters. Simulated and measured S parameters are compared with good agreement, demonstrating the feasibility of the design.

Compact and low insertion loss UWB ona??chip bandpass filter using coupled meandered line
摘要: For ultra-wideband (UWB) communication applications, a low-loss compact filter is proposed based on coupled lines using the GaAs integrated passive devices (IPD) technology in this letter. The multistage coupling lines are used to realize the ultra-wide passband with 100% fractional bandwidth. Two modified stubs loaded with shorted capacitors are introduced between coupled lines to produce a new transmission zero near the lower pass-band edge, resulting in better frequency selectivity performance. Moreover, stepped impedance resonator (SIR) structure is applied to the coupled lines to improve impedance matching performance within ultra-wide pass-band. As demonstrated, the proposed filter is fabricated as a chip with a compact size of 1.8 × 1.7 mm2, the insertion loss of the filter is less than 1.5 dB from 6 to 18 GHz with the return loss better than 13.5 dB. All simulated and measured frequency responses of the proposed filter are found to match well with each other, which further demonstrates the claimed superior performances of the proposed filter.

<scp>Coupleda??line</scp> banda??pass filter with <scp>Ta??shaped</scp> structure for high frequency selectivity and stopband rejection
摘要: A coupled-line band-pass filter (BPF) with T-shaped stub structure is presented. Five transmission poles within the passband and eight deep transmission zeros (TZs) from 0 to 2f0 (f0 denotes filter's center frequency) are realized through input impedance calculations. With the simple T-shaped structure, the positions of six TZs can be appropriately adjusted to achieve high frequency selectivity and stopband rejection. For demonstration, a BPF prototype centered at 2.05 GHz is designed and fabricated, whose measured rejection levels are of over 45.5 dB at lower stopband and better than 19.5 dB at upper stopband. The simulation and measurement results are in good agreement, which validates the design idea.

摘要: This paper proposes a novel planar dual-band coupled-line balun with impedance transformation and high isolation. Closed-form design equations are obtained based on the classical even-odd mode equivalent approach. For convenience of designing and synthesizing such a novel dual-band balun, the practical ranges of the frequency ratio, terminated impedances, and two free variables are provided under the conventional microstrip fabrication constraints. By adopting four coupled-line sections, six transmission-line stubs, and an isolation resistor, a microstrip prototype balun working at 1.0/2.6 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. There is a good agreement between the simulated and measured results. The wide bandwidths of 290 MHz from 0.83 to 1.12 GHz and 270 MHz from 2.44 to 2.71 GHz are obtained with the measured return losses (|S11|, |S22|, |S33|) and the isolation (|S23|) better than 10 dB, which effectively confirm the proposed theoretical predictions.

摘要: In this paper, a wideband ?ltering power divider (PD) with ultra-wideband harmonic suppression and isolation is proposed. The dual coupled-line sections are embedded to the conventional quarter-wavelength transmission lines, which helps to extend the passband of the PD. With the introduction of the short-circuit stubs shunted at the output ports and the coupled lines with the open-circuit stubs, the ultra-wide stopband can be implemented more ef?ciently, thus resulting in ?ve transmission zeros from 2 to 6 GHz. Furthermore, the improved isolation structure with series connected a resistor and a capacitor can be utilized to realize the ultra-wide isolation frequency band. Using a single resistor between two output ports, we have achieved an excellent in-band isolation. For demonstration, a wideband ?ltering PD operating at 1 GHz with a 20-dB bandwidth of 50% and an ultra-wide stopband better than 20 dB from 2 to 6 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results agree well with the anticipation.

摘要: This letter presents an improved UWB bandpass ?lter with sharp selectivity and a notch-band. Its fundamental structure is mainly based on a half-wavelength resonator using asymmetric parallel-coupled line. A center-tapped short-stub is connected at the symmetrical plane of the ?lter. As a result, two transmission zeros at the lower and upper passband/stopband edges are obtained. Moreover, one open parallel-coupled line is introduced to achieve a notch-band. Measured results indicate that the proposed ?lter has achieved a bandwidth of 110.6% from 3.05 to 10.6 GHz with a notch-band at 8.5 GHz. In addition, this ?lter can o?er some other advantages such as sharp roll-o? and compact size (0.63λg × 0.33λg), which make it attractive for the practical applications in UWB systems.

摘要: A compact dual-band branch-line coupler for the application of mobile phones has been proposed using multilayer PCB technology. The coupler contains six miniaturization units and two extra transmission lines (TLs). The miniaturization unit is introduced to replace the λ/4 TL for size reducing. For further miniaturization, the overall structure of the coupler uses multi- layer technique. The proposed coupler has high isolation and flexible frequency ratio. A coupler operating at 2.4/3.5 GHz is designed for verification. The size of the BLC is about 0.025 λg 2, reduced by 92% compared with the conventional hybrid.
