    摘要: The quantification of the impacts of photovoltaic system (PV) integration in the low voltage (LV) power grid is necessary for the historical evaluation of the electrical network with and without PV penetration. This paper presents the study case of the LV electrical network of a university building (Colombia), which has a 9.1 kW PV system. Specifically, the electrical variables monitored were voltages (V), frequency (f), active power (W), voltage distortion (THDv), and harmonics at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC), to determine impairments according to Std. IEEE 1547-2018. PV systems could change the RMS value of voltage at the PCC, therefore, this variable was analysed. Likewise, the frequency was analysed to corroborate the no affectation of the interconnection of the PV system to the electrical network; it is due to the absence of rotational inertia. The solar irradiation information was measured by a pyranometer and the electrical variables by an smart meter, recording the information every 10 minutes for 32 days. The above is an initial step for a comprehensive evaluation of electrical variables with PV generation and future integration of parameters for the resilience evaluation of the electric network.

    摘要: This article provides an overview regarding a real implementation of a grid-connected PV system on the building of Universidad Nacional de Rafaela, Argentina. The aim is to investigate and emphasize the importance of the whole experience carried out by an educational institution in the central region of Argentina. The first part of the study is focused on the current legislation, standards and programs related to renewable energy in general and grid-connected PV systems in particular. Afterwards, the design and sizing stage and the connection protocol are described in detail. In order to illustrate the solar potential in the region and the system performance, generation data accounting for the PV system are provided. Based on this information, preliminary conclusions are presented.

  • Single- and multi-objective optimization for photovoltaic distributed generators implementation in probabilistic power flow algorithm

    摘要: In this study, probabilistic power flow (PPF) for radial distribution systems (RDSs) integrated with photovoltaic (PV) distributed generators (DGs) is presented. The PPF is carried out using a combined approach of cumulants generating function and Gram–Charlier expansion. To express the intermittent nature of the PV power generation and demand powers, the random probabilities for solar irradiance and load demand are considered and modeled in the PPF. The benefits of PVDGs integration into RDS can be accomplished by their optimal placement and sizing. Hence, two optimization approaches are implemented to allocate the PVDG in the RDS. The first optimization approach utilizes a single-objective function based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to minimize the total power losses in RDSs, while the second approach uses the multi-objective PSO (MOPSO) to minimize the total power losses and voltage deviation. However, in case of MOPSO, a fuzzy logic decision making is developed to adopt a suitable solution from the optimal Pareto set according to the decision-maker preference. The developed algorithm is verified using two standard IEEE radial distribution systems: IEEE 33-bus and 69-bus. The obtained results prove the ability of the developed algorithm in solving the PPF considering the optimal PVDG allocation with low computational time.

  • On harmonic injection anti-islanding techniques under the operation of multiple DER-inverters

    摘要: This work studies the impact of multiple Distributed-Energy-Resource (DER) inverters (which are connected to the same node) on anti-islanding protection of DER-installations. As it concerns the harmonic injection-based schemes, the induced harmonic voltage component that is provoked by each inverter is compromised, as synchronous injection (injection at the same time intervals) among the inverters cannot be reassured. Therefore, harmonic injection-based anti-islanding schemes will fail if the harmonic voltage component falls below a certain level. In this framework, a novel metric (i.e. the Upgrade-Factor, UF) is introduced, indicating the supplementary power (of DERs) that can be installed in the same point of common coupling without compromising the effectiveness of the harmonic injection scheme. As this metric enables the evaluation of harmonic injection schemes prior to the future integration of DERs, it could be a substantial addendum into the relevant standards that evaluates the anti-islanding features of grid-tied DER-inverters. Finally, this work proposes a technique (implemented in software level), which maximizes UF and reassures the effectiveness of the harmonic injection schemes under the power variations of installed inverters. Extensive simulations and experimental tests have been conducted that verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy under various penetration-levels and islanding-network conditions.

    摘要: This paper presents an approach for photo-voltaic based DG allocation in distribution networks. The objective of the proposed approach is to minimize the developer’s investment cost associated with energy supply requirements over predefined planning period. Uncertainties associated with supply and demand are considered in this work, as well as, the uncertainty associated with energy prices. In addition, this work introduces smart curtailment of renewable resources, which can maximize the penetration and minimize the overall investment. Simulation results on a typical distribution network are provided, which prove the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed resource allocation approach.

  • Clusters partition and zonal voltage regulation for distribution networks with high penetration of PVs

    摘要: Integration of distributed generation (DG) at large scale with high penetration challenges the radial structure of the traditional distribution networks and the effectiveness of the conventional voltage regulation methods. In this study, the clusters partitioning and voltage regulation are researched. The modified electrical distance is introduced. An effective method, based on spectral clustering algorithm, is proposed for the partitioning of the DG network via the judgement of critical load buses. Two-stage voltage regulation optimisation is realised in each sub-community. The optimal objects are the minimal voltage fluctuation and the network loss of the distributed network. The independent variables are reactive-power absorption and active-power curtailment for each controllable photovoltaic node. An advanced particle swarm optimisation algorithm is applied to the voltage regulation for the sub-communities. After a case study of the IEEE 33-bus system, a regional distribution network in Anhui province of China is analysed. Simulation results indicate that the node voltages are stabilised with the improvement of power quality employing the proposed clusters partitioning method and zonal power control scheme.

    摘要: This paper presents a new control method for grid-connected pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters to reduce the output current harmonic distortion in a wide range of applications, including photovoltaic (PV) inverter. The proposed control method is designed to eliminate harmonics in micro-grid and to correct the system unbalance. The proposed technique is able to increase the inverter output current around 18 times of conventional one. Another advantage of the proposed control method is that it can be easily adopted into the distributed generation (DG) control system without the installation of extra hardware. The proposed control method comprises of the advance synchronous reference frame method (ASRF).
