摘要: Using an effective refractive index calculation, we demonstrate the ability to efficiently tune epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) behavior within compact thin-film stacks. Results show the desired effect of broadening the reflectivity profile and improving absorption for an all-oxide ENZ metamaterial.

摘要: An integrated optic technology with liquid core waveguide (LCW) has biomedical application in real time. The different structure of liquid core waveguide and mathematical modeling is implemented in this paper. The ARROW (Anti resonant reflecting optical waveguide) is simulated at 532nm wavelength gives 0.047dB loss and the effective index of 1.458715 for hundred percent Transfer Electric (TE) polarization factor. The Finite Difference Eigen (FDE) mode mathematical model is used.

Implications of theoretical analysis to explore the functional core dimension in one-rod core microstructured optical fibers
摘要: A new development in optical fiber technology that has attracted interest for multitude of novel and potential applications is an all-in-silica microstructured optical fibre (MOF) with one-rod core. We aim to estimate the functional core dimension for one-rod core triangular MOF (T-MOF) from its geometrical characteristics by using an alternative analytical field model. Moreover, to scrutinize the validity of the choice of effective core dimension (by adapting V-parameter, i.e., the normalized frequency) for T-MOF, we have explored the rudimentary propagation characteristics of the T-MOF in single mode guidance realm. We made comparisons with those which are based on the experimental and numerical studies. Relative errors are also reported.

Applications of Silicon Photonics in Sensors and Waveguides || New Approach to Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) Cell Based on Silicon Waveguides for Nanophotonic Circuits
摘要: In this chapter, we present a new scheme for Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) structure based on only one 4×4 multimode interference (MMI) coupler. We design the new MZI cell on the silicon on insulator (SOI) platform. The MZI based on directional coupler and 2×2 MMI coupler is also investigated in detail. The new MZI cell is a basic building block for photonic applications such as optical quantum gate, optical computing and reconfigurable processors. The numerical simulations show that our approach has advantages of compact size, ease of fabrication with the current complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) circuitry.

MDL reduction effect of S-bend induced modal coupling in five-mode ring core fiber
摘要: We discuss the extensibility of the S bend model to five mode ring core fiber (RCF). We propose a MUX/DEMUX for the five mode RCF and clarify design conditions from the viewpoint of connectivity. We evaluate the in-bobbin state with different barrel sizes and confirm the extensibility of the S bend model to five mode transmission. Furthermore, a transmission experiment demonstrates the reduction in MDL possible by promoting binding in five-mode RCF.
