  • Diffraction Focal Position and Vector Diffraction Theory for Micro Holographic Storage Systems

    摘要: In this study, we proposed a method to determine the optimal focal position for micro-holographic storage systems, using vector diffraction theory; the theory provides exact solutions when the numerical aperture (NA) exceeds 0.6. The best diffraction focus was determined by the position and wavelength corresponding to minimal spherical aberration. The calculated refractive index modulation, polarization illumination, and boundary conditions at the interface of different media were analyzed. From the results of our analysis, we could confirm the size of micrograting as a function of NA and wavelength, based on vector diffraction theory, compared with scalar diffraction theory which defines the micrograting by . To demonstrate our analysis, we adapted an optical alignment method using a Twyman-Green interferometer, and could obtain good agreement between analysis and experimental results.

  • Improvement of the Beam-Wave Interaction Efficiency Based on the Coupling-Slot Configuration in an Extended Interaction Oscillator

    摘要: A method aimed at improving the beam-wave interaction efficiency by changing the coupling slot configuration has been proposed in the study of extended interaction oscillators (EIOs). The dispersion characteristics, coupling coefficient and interaction impedance of the high-frequency structure based on different types of coupling slots have been investigated. Four types of coupled cavity structures with different layouts of the coupling slots have been compared to improve the beam-wave interaction efficiency, so as to analyze the beam-wave interaction and practical applications. In order to determine the improvement of the coupling slot to a coupled cavity circuit in an EIO, we designed four nine-gap EIOs based on the coupled cavity structure with different coupling slot configurations. With different operating frequencies and voltages takes into consideration, beam voltages from 27 to 33 kV have been simulated to achieve the best beam-wave interaction efficiency so that the EIOs are able to work in the 2π mode. The influence of the Rb and the ds on the output power is also taken into consideration. The Rb is the radius of the electron beam, and the ds is the width of the coupling slot. The simulation results indicate that a single-slot-type EIO has the best beam-wave interaction efficiency. Its maximum output power is 2.8 kW and the efficiency is 18% when the operating voltage is 31 kV and electric current is 0.5 A. The output powers of these four EIOs that were designed for comparison are not less than 1.7 kW. The improved coupling-slot configurations enables the extended interaction oscillator to meet the different engineering requirements better.

  • Color Noise Reduction Method in Non-constant Luminance Signal for High Dynamic Range Video Service

    摘要: A high dynamic range (HDR) video service is an upcoming industry. For compatibility with legacy devices receiving a non-constant luminance (NCL) signal, new tools supporting an HDR video service are required. The current pre-processing chain of HDR video can produce color noise owing to the chroma component down-sampling process for video encoding. Although a luma adjustment method has been proposed to solve this problem, some disadvantages still remain. In this paper, we present an adaptive color noise reduction method for an NCL signal of an HDR video service. The proposed method adjusts the luma component of an NCL signal adaptively according to the information of the luma component from a constant luminance signal and the level of color saturation. Experiment results show that the color noise problem is resolved by applying our proposed method. In addition, the speed of the pre-processing is increased more than two-fold compared to a previous method.

  • 2D-Porphrinic Covalent Organic Framework-Based Aptasensor with Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Response for the Detection of C-Reactive Protein

    摘要: In this study, a novel photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor based on two-dimensional (2D) porphyrinic covalent organic frameworks (p-COFs) for the label-free detection of C-reactive protein (CRP) is presented. The obtained p-COFs possess high conductivity and an improved stability due to strong and rigid covalent linkages. The introduction of p-COFs hinder the recombination of electrons and holes, decreasing their band gap (Eg), thereby which improved the photocurrent conversion efficiency. Compared with pure porphyrin, p-COFs exhibited enhanced photocurrent intensity. An amplified photocurrent conversion efficiency and enhanced photocurrent results from H2O2, which act as active molecules and electron donors. As an unprecedented application of COFs in PEC bioanalysis, the detection of CRP with a PEC aptasensor is presented. The assembly of a CRP aptamer on the surface of Ag nanoparticles hinders the electron transfer, resulting in the decrease of the photocurrent response. This PEC aptasensor exhibits good analytical performances such as a rapid response, high stability, wide linear range and excellent selectivity, making COFs promising candidates for PEC bioanalysis.

  • Effective detective quantum efficiency of two detectors in a prototype digital breast tomosynthesis

    摘要: Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) system is a novel imaging modality that strongly depends on the detector performance. The effective detective quantum efficiency (eDQE) is a newly accepted system of performance analysis metric that solves the disadvantages of conventional DQE evaluations, which do not consider clinical operating conditions. To evaluate the eDQE, we used the direct-conversion based Anrad detector and the indirect-conversion based Dexela detector. Our aim is to study the performance of such detectors when they are mounted on a prototype DBT system. The prototype DBT system consists of a CsI(Tl) scintillator/CMOS-based flat panel digital detector and an a-Se based direct conversion detector developed by the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI). The performance of the two detectors was compared on the basis of scatter fraction, transmission factor, effective modulation transfer function (eMTF), and effective normalized noise power spectrum (eNNPS). As a result, the Dexela detector is characterized by a decreasing eNNPS trend as the spatial frequency increases, whereas the Anrad eNNPS looks almost independent of the spatial frequency. The eMTF was found to be higher in the Anrad detector compared to that in the Dexela one for all frequencies. The eDQE values at 1 cycle/mm (low frequency) were 0.11 and 0.17 for the Anrad and Dexela detectors, respectively, and the values of the spatial frequency feDQE (0.1), corresponding to eDQE = 0.1, were 1.25 and 2.81 cycles/mm for the Anrad and Dexela detectors, respectively. The Dexela detector also presented a higher contrast-to-noise ratios (CNRs) for all different sizes of μCa groups, thus demonstrating overall better eDQE results in imaging performance compared to the Anrad detector.

  • Optimized chemical cleaning procedure for enhancing photoemission from GaAs photocathode

    摘要: To obtain cleaner GaAs photocathode surface, various wet chemical cleaning methods to remove the oxides and carbon contaminations from the surface of GaAs photocathode are investigated, and an improved chemical etching method is presented to further enhance the cathode photoemission performance. By means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis, characteristics of these methods are summarized. HF solution can effectively reduce surface oxides, but it does not effectively act on the absorbed carbon contaminations. The mixed solution of HCl and isopropanol scores well in removing carbon contaminations, but the ability of removing oxides is relatively weaker. The mixed solution of HCl and deionized water right after the mixed solution of H2SO4, H2O2 and deionized water is unfavorable to reduce Ga oxides. The improved chemical etching method, which uses HF solution followed by the mixture of HCl and isopropanol has more advantages in removing oxides and carbon contaminations at the same time. Moreover, a hydrophobic surface is obtained by using the improved method, which also plays a role in the contaminations removal. The quantum efficiencies of GaAs photocathode undergoing various wet chemical cleaning procedures are compared after subsequent heat treatment and activation. The results show that the chemical treatment of HF solution followed by the mixture of HCl and isopropanol can help GaAs photocathode obtain higher activated photocurrent and quantum efficiency.

  • High-performance Raman quantum memory with optimal control in room temperature atoms

    摘要: Quantum memories are essential for quantum information processing. Techniques have been developed for quantum memory based on atomic ensembles. The atomic memories through optical resonance usually suffer from the narrow-band limitation. The far off-resonant Raman process is a promising candidate for atomic memories due to broad bandwidths and high speeds. However, to date, the low memory efficiency remains an unsolved bottleneck. Here, we demonstrate a high-performance atomic Raman memory in 87Rb vapour with the development of an optimal control technique. A memory efficiency of above 82.0% for 6 ns~20 ns optical pulses is achieved. In particular, an unconditional fidelity of up to 98.0%, significantly exceeding the no-cloning limit, is obtained with the tomography reconstruction for a single-photon level coherent input. Our work marks an important advance of atomic memory towards practical applications in quantum information processing.

  • CPW-Fed Triple High Rejection Notched UWB & X-Band Antenna on Silicon for Imaging & Wireless Applications

    摘要: In this paper, compact Coplanar Waveguide feed antenna covering UWB & X-Band signals (2.98GHz-13.34GHz) is presented. Antenna also offers triple notched band elimination (WiMAX: 3.40GHz-3.95GHz, WLAN: 4.50GHz-6.34GHz & Downlink Satellite System: 7.11GHz-7.802GHz) which are due to insertion of stub and etching of slots. Antenna is fabricated and characterized on silicon for imaging and wireless applications with having fractional bandwidth of 133%. The antenna offers gain, radiation efficiency and group delay between 3.26dBi-8.00dBi, 84%-92% and ≤ ±1.0ns respectively for the entire of its bandwidth. Isolation of antenna in face to face and side to side orientations are < -25dB with very less distortion presented in the transmission and reception of the signal. The radiations emitted by the antenna are observed as dipole like pattern in E-plane and omni-directional in H-plane.

  • Measurement-device-independent and arbitrarily loss-tolerant verification of quantum steering

    摘要: We propose a method to verify quantum steering for two-qubit states with an arbitrary amount of null results when both the steering and steered parties cannot be trusted. We converted the steering inequality proposed in a recent article [Phys. Rev. X 2, 031003 (2012)] to a corresponding measurement-device-independent steering criterion that depends on the heralding efficiency of the steering party, number of measurement settings, and imperfection of the state preparation. As a result, for a relative frequency of valid measurement outcomes ηH, the steering can be verified using a number of different measurement settings larger than 1/ηH and maximally entangled states. Furthermore, steerability is guaranteed as long as the measurement efficiency of the steered party is nonzero. Our result is useful for loss-tolerant and measurement-device-independent steering tasks.
