    摘要: This work deals with the modified multilayer fifth order generalized integrator (MLFOGI) based grid tied single phase solar photovoltaic (PV) system employing fuzzy logic control (FLC) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms. The MLFOGI is used to extract the fundamental component of grid voltage under polluted grid due to voltage sag, swell, harmonics, frequency variations and dc offsets. The FLC based MPPT is capable to extract optimum energy under change in weather conditions. It offers fast dynamic response under reduced PV voltage oscillation. The proposed system is developed on MATLAB 2018a and obtained results shows the feasibility of system control and Total Harmonics Distortions (THDs) of grid current are in acceptable limits as per IEEE-519 standard.

  • Effect of Interface Layer Engineering on Resistive Switching Characteristics of ZrO?-Based Resistive Switching Devices

    摘要: An intentionally introduced interface layer in the resistive random-access memory (RRAM) devices play an important role in the improvement of resistive switching characteristics. In this paper, the resistive switching characteristics of ZrO2-based RRAM devices by inserting a thin TiO2 interface layer between electrodes and ZrO2 resistive switching layer were investigated. Compared with the Cu/ZrO2/Pt and Cu/ZrO2/TiO2/Pt devices, the Cu/TiO2/ZrO2/Pt and Cu/TiO2/ZrO2/TiO2/Pt devices showed much improved programing voltages, including lower forming voltage and lower set voltage. Moreover, the reset current was also improved. These results indicate that the TiO2 interface layer between the anode electrode and the resistive switching layer plays an important role in improving device performance.

  • Effect of surface hydrogenation on the topological properties of multilayer graphene

    摘要: We have investigated effects of surface hydrogenation on the topological properties of multilayer graphene by using density functional theory calculations and a tight-binding model. Hydrogen adsorption on a dimer site of a surface layer decouples the surface layer from the rest of the layers. Hydrogen adsorption on a nondimer site introduces a band mixing between the hydrogenated graphene and the rest of the graphene layers. The valley Hall effects and spin-valley-resolved Chern numbers of multilayer graphene, calculated as a function of the sublattice potential and the potential perpendicular to the layers, was found to be sensitive to details of inversion symmetry-breaking potentials. While the topological invariant depends on the adsorption site and spin polarization, surface-hydrogenated M-layer graphene was found to be topologically equivalent to (M-1)-layer graphene under inversion symmetry-breaking potentials regardless of the adsorption site.

    摘要: This work deals with the estimation of global solar irradiance in an embedded platform through the use of a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor and its temperature. A prototype is built and has its values compared to the data obtained through a commercial pyranometer. An Multilayer Perceptron neural network is used to provide a non-linear regression between the voltage and temperature signals of the LDR on the commercial sensor irradiance data in a data analysis software. A regression with determination coef?cient of 96.466 % and with mean squared error of 0.04 was obtained. The neural network present in the embedded system has 100% accuracy in relation to the neural network present in the data analysis software used. The minimum response time of the prototype is 13.49 ms and its dissipated power is 27.2 mW, making the approach quite promising. This neural estimation, using simple sensors like the LDR, can help to reduce the cost of renewable energy applications and make it easier to implement.

  • Hyperspectral unmixing using double-constrained multilayer NMF

    摘要: Hyperspectral unmixing (HU) refers to the process decomposing the entire hyperspectral image into a set of endmembers and the corresponding abundance fractions. Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) has been widely used in HU due to its simplicity and effectiveness. Many extensions of NMF have been also developed since traditional NMF has a large solution space. On the other hand, the multilayer structure has shown great advantages in learning data representation. Inspired by these considerations, we added sparsity and geometric structure constraints to the multilayer NMF structure and proposed a double-constrained multilayer NMF (DCMLNMF) method for HU in this paper. The multilayer NMF structure was obtained by iteratively decomposing the target matrix into a number of layers. To improve the unmixing performance, a sparsity constraint term on the abundance matrix and a graph regularization term were both incorporated to each layer. Besides, a layer-wise optimization method based on Nesterov’s optimal gradient method was further proposed to solve the multi-factor NMF problem. Experimental results based on both synthetic data and real data demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms several other state-of-art approaches.

  • Improving the Accuracy of Broad-Band Monitoring of Optical Coating Deposition

    摘要: A method for improving the accuracy of the broad-band monitoring of the process of depositing optical coatings is proposed. The method is based on determining the actual set of thicknesses of deposited layers in the deposition process. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated in a series of model numerical experiments using a simulator of deposition process.

  • Reversible Polarization Recording in As2S3–Se Multilayer Nanostructures

    摘要: Polarization holographic recording of diffraction gratings and their subsequent erasure have been investigated on As2S3–Se multilayer nanostructures. The work investigates how preexposure to actinic laser radiation up to complete photoinduced changes in the optical properties affects the formation of diffraction gratings in the studied structure. It is shown that the preexposure of an As2S3–Se multilayer nanostructure (MNS) leads to photobleaching, and the maximum achievable diffraction efficiency (DE) of 35% does not change; however, the required exposure value is increased. It is also shown that exposure using one laser beam results in complete erasure of the diffraction grating recorded up to the maximum. Seven recording–erasure cycles show that the kinetics of the increase in diffraction efficiency and its maximum value do not change, which indicates that the As2S3–Se multilayer structure is capable of reversible holographic recording under orthogonal circular polarization. Study of the gratings recorded with an atomic-force microscope shows that the main factor determining the diffraction efficiency value is modulation of the relief, the depth of which is greater than 200 nm.

  • Photoacoustic and fluorescent effects in multilayer plasmon-dye interfaces

    摘要: Progress in understanding the cell biology and progression of disease depends on advanced imaging and labeling techniques. Here, we address this demand by exploring novel multilayered nanocomposites (MNCs) with plasmonic nanoparticles and adsorbing dyes in thin nonabsorbing shells as supercontrast multimodal photoacoustic (PA) and fluorescent agents in the near-infrared range. The proof of concept was performed with gold nanorods (GNRs) and indocyanine green (ICG) dispersed in a matrix of biodegradable polymers. We demonstrated synergetic PA effects in MNCs with the gold–ICG interface that could not be achieved with ICG and GNRs alone. We also observed ultrasharp PA and emission peaks that could be associated with nonlinear PA and spaser effects, respectively. Low-toxicity multimodal MNCs with unique plasmonic, thermal, and acoustic properties have the potential to make a breakthrough in PA flow cytometry and near-infrared spasers in vivo by using the synergetic interaction of plasmonic modes with a nearby absorbing medium.

    摘要: Broadband laser based terahertz systems become currently established for inline multilayer paint inspection in the automotive industry. This technology has also proven to be suitable for inspections of certain multilayer plastic structures with up to a few millimeters of thickness. We present a complementary technique for the measurement of dielectric multilayer structures with thicknesses of submillimeter to several centimeters, using frequency-modulated continuous-wave electronic transceivers. In order to resolve layers below the inherent resolution limit by the modulation bandwidth, we take advantage of model-based signal processing techniques.

  • Scattering of a Plane Electromagnetic Wave by a Multilayer Spherical Lens

    摘要: We propose an analytical solution of the problem of diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave by a multilayer dielectric (including plasmon) sphere. The solution is obtained using the method of separation of variables. New efficient recurrence relationships are obtained for calculations of the fields in layers, as well as formulas for the fields in the near and far diffraction zones. The novelty of the proposed solution is connected with the way of representing its radial part in the form of normalized functions. It is shown that as the number of the lens layers, which approximate the smooth profile of dielectric permittivity, grows, the electric field at the focusing point increases and reaches the maximum value. This allows one to determine the minimum required number of layers in practical problems. Resonance properties of metal-dielectric nanoparticles are studied in the optical band.
