  • Waterproof Cesium Lead Bromide Perovskite Lasers and Their Applications in Solution

    摘要: The many advantageous optoelectronic properties of lead halide perovskites have made them promising materials in both solar cells and light source applications. However, lead halide perovskites are soluble in polar solvents, which hinders their practical applications. Thus, the effective protection of perovskite against polar solvents is of great significance. Herein, we report waterproof CsPbBr3 nanoplate (NP) laser protected by large-scale on-chip micro process compatible atomic layer deposition (ALD) Al2O3. 50 nm Al2O3 coated CsPbBr3 NPs can continuously lase in water for over an hour, and can still lase after being immersed in water for a month. Moreover, the lasing behaviors of the 20 nm Al2O3 coated CsPbBr3 NP, in the mixed solution of water and glycerine with the refractive index ranging from 1.33 to 1.47, are also studied. As the environmental refractive index increases, the NP laser goes through a mode selection process, showing single-mode (540.3 nm) to dual-mode and to single-mode (533.9 nm) lasing behavior, which is caused by mode competition resulting from the decrease of quality factor (Q factor) and the blue-shift of the material’s gain spectra. Besides, lasing thresholds of the CsPbBr3 NP increase with the environmental refractive index, which can be utilized for sensing with a measured sensitivity of 129.7 μJ cm?2 RIU?1 (per refractive index unit) (388.2 μJ cm?2 RIU?1) for the long (short) wavelength lasing mode. Our work demonstrates that the ALD Al2O3 protection method can effectively protect CsPbBr3 against polar solvents, enhance the material’s stability, and enable perovskite’s practical applications in both on-chip integration and solvent systems.

  • PHOTONIC CRYSTAL NANOLASERS AS OPTICAL FREQUENCY STANDARDS

    摘要: Using of the nanolasers with the system of radiation frequency stabilization for development of the nano-size order optical frequency standards is considered in this paper. A number of nanolaser designs, their radiation processes and frequency stabilization are examined. The quantum dot nanolaser model with the wavelength of λ = 633 nm is developed. Radiation frequency stabilization is performed with the help of the iodine molecules placed into the photonic crystal cell having the T-shaped defect.

  • Double-wavelength nanolaser based on strong coupling of localized and propagating surface plasmon

    摘要: We theoretically demonstrate a kind of plasmon coupled cavity to achieve a nanolaser with high intensity and low threshold. The plasmon cavity is composed of the gold film substrate and gold disk array, which supports two strong coupled resonance modes (i.e. surface plasmon polariton (SPP) and localized surface plasmon (LSP)). Compared with the nanolaser with the LSP resonance structure, the scattering cross-section of the LSP-SPP coupled laser is 80 times higher. The coupled cavity nanolaser with different wavelengths can be excited with different plasmon resonance modes by selecting the appropriate gain medium. In addition, a compact tunable dual-wavelength laser can be developed using this coupled structure.

  • Nanosecond Laser Cataract Surgery in LOCS III Grade 4 and 5: A Case Series

    摘要: Purpose: a major obstacle to the widespread implementation of nanosecond laser cataract removal has been its limited efficacy in cases when the cataract is harder than lens opacities classification system iii (locs iii) grade 3. the latest technological modifications seem to have overcome this obstacle. Design: a case series. Methods: this study presents a case series of 17 consecutive patients with a cataract classified as harder than locs iii grade 3 who underwent nanolaser cataract surgery. the basic surgical procedure included administration of topical or local anesthesia, capsulorhexis, hydrodissection, cataract removal with a nanosecond laser, cortical cleanup, intraocular lens implantation, and clear corneal incision closure with physiological solution. Results: the nanosecond laser system effectively removed the cataract in all patients. this result was statistically significant (P < 0.000001) compared with an expected conversion rate to ultrasound phacoemulsification of 100%. Conclusions: Harder cataracts should no longer be considered a limitation for the use of nanosecond laser in cataract surgery.

  • Nanosekundenlaserbehandlung bei Chorioretinopathia centralis serosa ohne RPE-Defekte: eine retrospektive Fallserie

    摘要: Background Chorioretinopathia centralis serosa (CCS) is a uni- or bilateral disease of the macula which is characterized by detachment of the neuro-sensory retina. The spontaneous resolution rate is 68 % after four months and 84 % after six months. Purpose To investigate the efficacy of subthreshold nanopulse laser treatment for central serous chorioretinopathy (CCS) in the absence of any atrophy in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). Methods This retrospective study comprised 23 eyes of 23 patients without previous treatment. Patients were followed up to 12 months. Laser treatment was performed with the 2RT? nanolaser using a grid stimulation. Changes in corrected visual acuity (VA), microperimetry and subretinal fluid height in optical coherence tomographic images were measured. Saliences in autofluorescence images and angiographic images were observed. All results were documented 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after the first treatment. Patients did not receive any supplementary treatment. Results Two months after the first treatment, 74 % of the patients showed complete SRF resolution and 91 % of the patients within 6 months had complete resorption of the SRF. Central visual acuity and macula sensitivity significantly improved from 0.18 ± 0.16 logMAR to 0.09 ± 0.17 logMAR and 24.19 ± 3.96 dB to 27.59 ± 2.89 dB. The SRF decreased within one month significantly. No CNV was documented during the observation time. The baseline subretinal fluid height is a predictive factor of faster resolution. Conclusion The evaluation of our treatment results shows that the therapy is a safe and promising method. Patients with a CCS without existing RPE defects benefit from the treatment with the 2RT? nanolaser, which is associated with an improvement of the macula function.

  • Mode Locking of the Hermite-Gaussian Modes of a Nanolaser

    摘要: Mode locking is predicted in a nanolaser cavity forming an effective photonic harmonic potential. The cavity is substantially more compact than a Fabry-Perot resonator with a comparable pulsing period, which is here controlled by the potential. In the limit of instantaneous gain and absorption saturation, mode locking corresponds to a stable dissipative soliton, which is very well approximated by the coherent state of a quantum mechanical harmonic oscillator. This property is robust against noninstantaneous material response and nonzero phase-intensity coupling.
