Tuning Bandgap of Mixed-Halide Perovskite for Improved Photovoltaic Performance Under Monochromatic-Light Illumination
摘要: Organic–inorganic halide perovskites have emerged as promising materials for optoelectronic devices. This paper focuses on a new application field for perovskite materials as monochromatic-light conversion devices. First the optical properties of organic–inorganic perovskite semiconductors with bandgaps varying from near-infrared to visible at room temperature are presented. Two types of hybrid organic–inorganic mixed-halide perovskites, (FAPbI3)x(MAPbBr3)1-x and FA0.85MA0.15Pb(IxBr1-x)3, are adopted for bandgap tuning, an approximate linear variation of bandgaps with the x value is obtained. The relationship between thin film composition and device performance are investigated. Based on the results of the above bandgap tuning, two kinds of devices with bandgap near the wavelength of 683 nm are characterized under monochromatic-light illumination. A conversion efficiency of up to 40% under 60 mW cm?2 monochromatic-light illumination is achieved. The results confirm that the perovskite films exhibit sharp optical absorption edge, enabling highly efficient monochromatic-light conversion device.

Direct Imaging of Current‐Induced Transformation of a Perovskite/Electrode Interface
摘要: Formamidinium-lead-iodide (FAPbI3) perovskite films are subjected to a long-term action of the constant electrical current in the dark, using planar vacuum-deposited gold electrodes. The current-induced transformation is monitored by the time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) mapping complemented by microscopic, spectroscopic methods, and X-ray diffraction. The migration of chemical species inside the lateral interelectrode gap is clearly visualized by ToF-SIMS. Those species correspond to both electrode material and perovskite itself, so that the perovskite/electrode interface becomes disrupted. As a result, the interelectrode gap shrinks, which is reflected in the surface images.

摘要: Inorganic cesium lead halide compounds have gained an increasing interest in the perovskite photovoltaics research community. These compounds are mixed into state of the art organic lead halide perovskite solar cells to provide for more thermal stability, and CsPbX3 (x=I, Br, Cl) nanocubes are investigated as standalone emitter material in light emitting diodes. Eventually, reproducible, single-phase CsPbBr3 thin films could also provide us with a more stable inorganic material for perovskite solar cells. In the present work, we report on microscopic structural and optoelectronic properties of Cs-Pb-Br thin films prepared by different synthesis methods and studied using various electron-microscopy techniques.

Conjugated Polymer–Assisted Grain Boundary Passivation for Efficient Inverted Planar Perovskite Solar Cells
摘要: Grain boundaries in lead halide perovskite films lead to increased recombination losses and decreased device stability under illumination due to defect-mediated ion migration. The effect of a conjugated polymer additive, poly(bithiophene imide) (PBTI), is investigated in the antisolvent treatment step in the perovskite film deposition by comprehensive characterization of perovskite film properties and the performance of inverted planar perovskite solar cells (PSCs). PBTI is found to be incorporated within grain boundaries, which results in an improvement in perovskite film crystallinity and reduced defects. The successful defect passivation by PBTI yields reduces recombination losses and consequently increases power conversion efficiency (PCE). In addition, it gives rise to improved photoluminescence stability and improved PSC stability under illumination which can be attributed to reduced ion migration. The optimal devices exhibit a PCE of 20.67% compared to 18.89% of control devices without PBTI, while they retain over 70% of the initial efficiency after 600 h under 1 sun illumination compared to 56% for the control devices.

Fusing Nanowires into Thin Films: Fabrication of Graded‐Heterojunction Perovskite Solar Cells with Enhanced Performance
摘要: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have recently experienced a rapid rise in power conversion efficiency (PCE), but the prevailing PSCs with conventional mesoscopic or planar device architectures still contain nonideal perovskite/hole-transporting-layer (HTL) interfaces, limiting further enhancement in PCE and device stability. In this work, CsPbBr3 perovskite nanowires are employed for modifying the surface electronic states of bulk perovskite thin films, forming compositionally-graded heterojunction at the perovskite/HTL interface of PSCs. The nanowire morphology is found to be key to achieving lateral homogeneity in the perovskite film surface states resulting in a near-ideal graded heterojunction. The hidden role of such lateral homogeneity on the performance of graded-heterojunction PSCs is revealed for the first time. The resulting PSCs show high PCE up to 21.4%, as well as high operational stability, which is superior to control PSCs fabricated without CsPbBr3-nanocrystals modification and with CsPbBr3-nanocubes modification. This study demonstrates the promise of controlled hybridization of perovskite nanowires and bulk thin films for more efficient and stable PSCs.

Bulk luminescent solar concentrators based on organic-inorganic CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite fluorophores
摘要: In this paper, we report characterization and performance results of lead bromide perovskite luminescent solar concentrator. CH3NH3PbBr3 fluorophores are synthesized by sonication method and examined by their X-ray diffraction pattern and scanning electron microscopy. Synthesized perovskite shows excitonic absorption at 524 nm and PL emission peak located at 532 nm with a Stokes shift around 8 nm. Micron-sized fluorophores are dissolved in prepared solutions and uniformly embedded in PMMA host with 0.006–0.120%wt concentration. Then, Fabricated devices are cut into 50 × 30 × 5 mm cuboid shapes and placed in a mirror surrounded configuration with an attached photovoltaic cell. Fabricated device is put under standard AM1.5 illumination and the output spectrum from the concentrator is acquired. Re-absorption in the samples is also measured by variable optical path method, showing red-shifts up to 13 nm in the output spectrum. Spatially resolved photo-luminescence maps and optical efficiencies are also presented for each sample. Plus, a Monte-Carlo ray tracing algorithm is developed to assist better understanding the experimental results. Stability of fabricated samples are evaluated under high intensity UV illumination, reporting efficiency reduction around 15% after 24 h. Finally, Comparing current-voltage characterization of the attached photovoltaic cell reveals optimized efficiency enhancement in the 0.04%wt sample above 65%.

Addressing the Reliability and Electron Transport Kinetics in Halide Perovskite Film via Pulsed Laser Engineering
摘要: The long-term performance and stability of perovskites are adversely affected by their porous microstructure, tensile residual stress, and electron transport kinetics. Here, a high-speed pulsed laser processing technique is implemented to produce beneficial structural changes in organic–inorganic halide perovskites, including pore-free, crystalline structure, reduced defects, and tensile residual stress. Moreover, halide perovskite films can be converted from p-type to n-type semiconductor, which originates from crystal structure changes, giving rise to carrier dynamic changes. Comparing with traditional thermal annealing, residual tensile stress of perovskite thin film decreases by 40% after pulse laser processing, which significantly increases its stability. Pulse-laser-induced thermomechanical shock momentum can create pore-free perovskite thin films, contributing to much better reliability. Under humidity of 80% at room temperature for 500 h, the decomposition rate is reduced by more than two times, comparing thin films after pulsed laser processing with conventional thermal annealing. The thermal decomposition temperature of pulse-laser-processed perovskite thin film raises by 20 to about 220 °C. Pulse laser processing technique provides a scalable technique to tailor the structures in perovskite films with both temperature and loading control, further facilitates the design of perovskite-based devices for service under harsh conditions, and also contributes to high-performance optoelectronic applications.

Quantum and Dielectric Confinement Effects in Lower-Dimensional Hybrid Perovskite Semiconductors
摘要: Hybrid halide perovskites are now superstar materials leading the field of low-cost thin film photovoltaics technologies. Following the surge for more efficient and stable 3D bulk alloys, multilayered halide perovskites and colloidal perovskite nanostructures appeared in 2016 as viable alternative solutions to this challenge, largely exceeding the original proof of concept made in 2009 and 2014, respectively. This triggered renewed interest in lower-dimensional hybrid halide perovskites and at the same time increasingly more numerous and differentiated applications. The present paper is a review of the past and present literature on both colloidal nanostructures and multilayered compounds, emphasizing that availability of accurate structural information is of dramatic importance to reach a fair understanding of quantum and dielectric confinement effects. Layered halide perovskites occupy a special place in the history of halide perovskites, with a large number of seminal papers in the 1980s and 1990s. In recent years, the rationalization of structure–properties relationship has greatly benefited from new theoretical approaches dedicated to their electronic structures and optoelectronic properties, as well as a growing number of contributions based on modern experimental techniques. This is a necessary step to provide in-depth tools to decipher their extensive chemical engineering possibilities which surpass the ones of their 3D bulk counterparts. Comparisons to classical semiconductor nanostructures and 2D van der Waals heterostructures are also stressed. Since 2015, colloidal nanostructures have undergone a quick development for applications based on light emission. Although intensively studied in the last two years by various spectroscopy techniques, the description of quantum and dielectric confinement effects on their optoelectronic properties is still in its infancy.

Mechanism of photoluminescence intermittency in organic-inorganic perovskite nanocrystals
摘要: Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have demonstrated their potential as active materials for optoelectronic applications over the past few years. Nevertheless one issue which hampers their applicability has to do with the observation of photoluminescence intermittency, commonly referred to as blinking, as in their inorganic counterparts. Such behavior, reported for structures well above the quantum confinement regime, has been discussed to be strongly related with the presence of charge carrier traps. In this work we analyze the characteristics of this intermittency and explore the dependence with the surrounding atmosphere, showing evidence for the critical role played by the presence of oxygen. We discuss a possible mechanism in which a constant creation/annihilation of halide-related carrier traps takes place under light irradiation, the dominant rate being determined by the atmosphere.

Hydrophobic Metal Halide Perovskites for Visible-Light Photoredox C-C Bond Cleavage and Dehydrogenation Catalysis
摘要: Two-dimensional lead and tin halide perovskites were prepared by intercalating the long alkyl group 1-hexadecylammonium (HDA) between the inorganic layers. We observed visible-light absorption, narrow-band photoluminescence, and nanosecond photoexcited lifetimes in these perovskites. Due to their hydrophobicity and stability even in humid air, we applied these perovskites in the decarboxylation and dehydrogenation of indoline acids using (HDA)2PbI4 or (HDA)2SnI4 as photoredox catalysts, with quantitative conversions and high yields for the former. We highlight another original application of the metal halide perovskites.
