  • Glutaraldehyde non-conjugated chitosan polymer fluorophores for selective determination of picric acid via fluorescence resonance energy transfer strategy

    摘要: Water-dispersed glutaraldehyde (GA) non-conjugated chitosan polymer fluorophores (GCPF) with quantum yield of 16 % is synthesized by stirring chitosan and GA for 6 h at room temperature in the present work. It is a facile and mild method and fluorescent GCPF can be stabled for two months. Owing to the spectral overlap of fluorescent spectrum of GCPF and absorption spectrum of picric acid (PA), a novel sensitive fluorescent method using fluorescent GCPF for PA detection from 10 nM to 50 μM via fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) strategy is established. The distance between donor of GCPF and acceptor of PA (R0 value) is calculated to be 3.5 nm. FRET method using fluorescent GCPF possesses high sensitivity (LOD of 2.8 nM), and selectivity and fast response within 2 min. Moreover, fluorescent GCPF is also utilized in visual analysis of PA using cotton swabs. Fluorescence quenching effect can be observed by eyes irradiated with 365 nm ultraviolet light at cotton swabs and using GCPF solid on quartz glasses, which paves an effect and wide way for the application of fluorescent GCPF in our daily life.

  • Ratiometric Luminescent Sensor of Picric Acid based on the Dual-Emission Mixed-Lanthanide Coordination Polymer

    摘要: Powerful explosive sensors play a key role in public security and environmental protection. Herein we report a series of isostructural lanthanide coordination polymers [Ln2L1.5(NMP)2]n (LnL, Ln = Eu , Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er, H4L = [1,1′:4′,1″-terphenyl]-2′,4,4″,5′-tetracarboxylic acid, NMP = N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and mixed-Ln LnL (EuxTb1-xL, EuxGd1-xL, TbxGd1-xL and EuxTb0.02-xGd0.98L). Luminescence studies show that both H4L and GdL emit strong fluorescence and phosphorescence at 77 K while only fluorescence at room temperature, and TbL exhibits strong Tb3+ characteristic emission though the energy difference between the triplet excited state of H4L (20661 cm-1) and the 5D4 energy level of Tb3+ (20500 cm-1) is very small. By doping Eu3+ and Tb3+ into GdL, we obtained EuxTb0.02-xGd0.98L emitting warm white light. For TbL and Tb0.01Gd0.99L showing the dual-emission, upon addition of picric acid (PA) into their suspensions in Tris-HCl buffer, Tb3+ emission decreases slowly, however, the ligand-based emission is sharply quenched, rendering TbL and Tb0.01Gd0.99L excellent single-lanthanide and mixed-lanthanide ratiometric luminescence PA sensor materials, respectively.

  • Water-dispersed fluorescent silicon nanodots as probes for fluorometric determination of picric acid via energy transfer

    摘要: Water-dispersed fluorescent silicon nanodots (SiNDs) were synthesized by a one-pot hydrothermal method starting from tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as silicon source and trisodium citrate as reducing reagent. The method is simple and convenient. The SiNDs, with excitation/emission peaks at 347/440 nm and with fluorescence quantum yield of 18% are shown to be viable fluorescent probes for picric acid (PA). The SiNDs strongly bind PA, and their blue fluorescence is quenched. The distance between the donor and acceptor (R0 value) is calculated from fluorescence data to be 2.1 nm. A fluorometric method was worked out that has a linear response in the 8 nM to 50 μM PA concentration range and a 0.92 nM limit of detection. The method has a fast response (2 min) and is well selective over other nitroaromatic compounds and metal ions. The average recoveries from spiked lake water samples ranged between 98.4 and 100.8%.
