Evaluation of the performance of a photovoltaic power plant installed in a building in the north of Portugal
摘要: In this work, the evaluation of the performance of a small-size photovoltaic plant, with 15 kWp of capacity, is made and some proposals for its optimization are presented. The plant consists of a grid-connected centralized system, where the output power is consumed in the same building. The PV plant production data of the last couple of years are analysed, filtering the periods of inoperation. To obtain an accurate prediction of the efficiency and power output, the characteristics of all plant components were introduced in SAM software. The results obtained through the simulations and the measured output power values were compared.

Pollinator effectiveness of a specialist bee exploiting a generalist plant—tracking pollen transfer by Heriades truncorum with quantum dots
摘要: Heriades truncorum (Megachilidae) is a specialist bee that forages on Asteraceae and collects pollen by tapping its abdomen on pollen-presenting florets which places the grains directly in the ventral scopa. We tracked pollen transfer by female H . truncorum between conspecific inflorescences of Inula ensifolia and Pulicaria dysenterica by labelling pollen with quantum dots. On average, bees transferred 31.14 (I . ensifolia ) and 9.96 (P. dysenterica ) pollen grains from the last visited inflorescence, 39% and 45% of which were placed on receptive styles. Pollen germination ratio is significantly lower for inflorescences of P. dysenterica visited by one H . truncorum (0.13%) compared with open control inflorescences (0.51%), which suggests that the bees mainly transfer self-pollen of these self-incompatible plants. Thus, a single visit by H . truncorum does not grant the plant high reproductive success, but the bees’ abundance and flower constancy might reduce this disadvantage.

Design and Sizing of Mobile Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant to Support Rapid Charging for Electric Vehicles
摘要: Existing DC fast-charging stations are experiencing power quality issues such as high harmonics in the line current, poor power factor in the input supply, and overloading of distribution transformers, due to the dynamic behavior of charging patterns when it is connected to the power grid. Most of the recent works involve the usage of renewable energy sources to mitigate the issues on the distribution grid. In order to design a mobile plug and play DC fast charging station, solar energy is the best and viable solution to carry out. In this paper, plug and play solar photovoltaic power plant to charge electric vehicles (EVs) is proposed and modelled using MATLAB/Simulink software. The proposed system can act as a mobile power plant. The controller allows the system to charge the battery, whenever there is abundant solar energy. Incoming EVs will be charged directly from the system battery where the charger acts as a rapid charging system. The proposed system can meet the concept of Solar Photovoltaic Rapid Charging Stations (SPRCS), which shows that 80% of charge can be fed to an EV in 10.25 min.

Investigation of enhanced far-red emitting phosphor GdAlO3:Mn4+ by impurity doping for indoor plant growth LEDs
摘要: Phytochrome is indispensable for plant growth, which can absorb light useful for sprout, blossom, fruits. Generally, Phytochrome PR absorbs red light and Phytochrome PFR absorbs far-red light. The emission of Mn4+ doped GdAlO3 is situated in far-red light region. Herein, GdAlO3:Mn4+, Mg2+(GAL:Mn4+, Mg2+) phosphors were successfully synthesized via sol-gel method and the crystalline structure and luminescent properties were investigated systematically. Impressively, the emission intensity of GAL: Mn4+ phosphors was raised by Mg2+ and Ge4+ doping, and the mechanism of improved luminescence was also discussed. Depending on photoluminescence excitation and photoluminescence spectroscopy, the crystal field strength of the GdAlO3 host was calculated. In addition, excellent color purity and good thermal stability were found in Mg2+ co-doped GdAlO3:Mn4+ phosphors. Furthermore, the luminescence spectra of GAL: Mn4+, Mg2+ phosphor was agreed well with the absorption of Phytochrome PFR, which convincingly confirmed that Mg2+ co-doped GdAlO3:Mn4+ phosphors show promise in indoor plant growth LEDs.

Time series forecasting of solar power generation for large-scale photovoltaic plants
摘要: Accurate solar power forecasting is essential for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems especially in case of fluctuating environmental conditions. The prediction of PV power output is critical to secure grid operation, scheduling and grid energy management. One of the key elements in PV output prediction is time series analysis especially in locations where the historical solar radiation measurements or other weather parameters have not been recorded. In this work, several time series prediction methods including the statistical methods and those based on artificial intelligence are introduced and compared rigorously for PV power output prediction. Moreover, the effect of prediction time horizon variation for all the algorithms is investigated. Hourly solar power forecasting is carried out to verify the effectiveness of different models. The data utilized in the current work comprises 3640 hours of operation data taken from a 20 MW grid-connected PV station in China.

Techno-economic analysis of using three Fresnel solar fields coupled to a thermal power plant for different cost of natural gas
摘要: In this paper, the effect of using three solar ?elds in a solar thermal power plant has been evaluated. Two separate solar direct steam generations are used to provide a portion of the energy required by the high-pressure turbine and low-pressure turbine. The third solar ?eld is used for molten salt energy storage. If the energy stored during the daytime is not enough, the fossil fuel boiler will provide the rest of the energy needed. Given the current price of natural gas, the use of solar energy is not cost-effective, regardless of environmental issues, government incentives or external costs, such as health costs. Furthermore, the use of solar energy for the power plant was unable to make a signi?cant reduction in electricity cost, regardless the 3.5$/MMBTU natural gas price. However, considering the complexity of the solar system, the use of solar energy for the price of the current natural gas is not recommended. By increasing the price of natural gas, the use of solar energy is more economically feasible. The results of the study show that the use of three solar ?elds (two separate solar ?elds to produce superheated steam for a high-pressure turbine and low-pressure turbine and a solar ?eld for energy storage using molten salt as thermal energy storage medium) rather than one solar ?eld reduces electricity consumption by 1.83%e13.78% for the price of 9 $/MMBtu natural gas. Although each of the ?rst and second solar ?elds produce different energy quantities, and therefore, require different ?eld areas, the ?eld coef?cient of the ?eld is the same for both solar ?elds.

Investigation of Operating Parameters and Degradation of Photovoltaic Panels in a Photovoltaic Power Plant
摘要: Recently, the use of photovoltaic (PV) cells and the increase in the number of photovoltaic power plants has led to a detailed examination of their operating parameters. In this article, we discuss material and operating parameter influences on the performance and efficiency of photovoltaic panels in a photovoltaic power plant. The plant consisted of 3600 pieces of polycrystalline PV panels from Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) Solar (type REC 230AE) with a maximum power of 230 Wp. Parameter measurements were made three years after the power plant was started. The measured and computed data were statistically processed using multidimensional statistical methods where the relationships between input and output variables were examined, which was subsequently quantified by regression analysis. Using the ANOVA, the variability of the measured efficiency of the panels and the performance for individual years was examined. Efficiency has been found to increase significantly over the years. The reason for this is the statistically proven prevailing operating time of the PV power plant in conditions with lower temperature than standard operating conditions (25 °C). Ageing was not confirmed in optimal conditions and calculated efficiency was constant.

P‐13.7: Top‐Emitting White OLEDs with Micro‐cavity for Ultra‐Low Power Consumption Display
摘要: Invasive plants may be more plastic than non-invasive plants and maintain high fitness under various environmental conditions. Previous studies mainly focused on the comparisons between invasive and native plants, and comparisons between highly invasive and less invasive exotic species are still relatively rare, especially for comparisons at the subspecies level. This study examined the effects of nutrient addition and shading on the performance of the highly invasive Mimosa invisa and its less invasive subspecies M. invisa var. inermis under either isolated or competitive conditions. Nutrient addition increased biomass and plant height and decreased root-to-shoot ratio (R/S). Shading decreased biomass and R/S and increased plant height. Under isolated conditions, the two invaders did not differ in R/S, plant height and plasticity of these traits in response to nutrient addition or shading, and the two invaders also did not differ in biomass production under each of the nutrient and light treatments. When the two invaders competed with each other, M. invisa outcompeted M. invisa var. inermis under high soil nutrient conditions, and the two invaders did not differ in performance under other growth conditions. Thus, only considering competition may we find out the difference between highly invasive species and their closely related, less invasive subspecies. Management of M. invisa should focus on habitats with high soil nutrient availability, in which M. invisa is more likely to dominate.
