  • High Speed Wireless Internet Using LiFi

    摘要: The internet has become a basic necessity, so with the advancement in technology, people are demanding something faster than WI-FI. Since light is the only medium that can travel fastest than any other source of data transmission else so if we use this medium for internet, it will be the best utilization of medium with a higher data transmission rate. This technology was implemented over and came out with concept of LI-FI Technology. Li-Fi in known for Light-Fidelity, Li-Fi uses an idea of visible light communication (VLC) technology that uses light as a medium to convey fast high-speed communication in a manner like Wi-Fi. Since visible light is present everywhere, the main idea of our review paper is how LI-FI technology can help in security, speed and reliability of internet and even can change our life style. This innovation is actualized utilizing white LED bulbs matched with the Downlink transmitter that can give a higher information transmission rate up to 10Gbps. The main prospective of this paper demonstrates the forthcoming routine of Li-Fi technology innovation and its highlights to expand the execution of information transmission and different applications where Li-Fi has been put to utilize.

  • Correction: Efficient non-fullerene organic solar cells employing sequentially deposited donor–acceptor layers

    摘要: This paper proposes a method to reduce the stub reflection effects on a memory channel of a server platform. The memory channel eye height and eye width margin improved by 3 times when isolation between multiple dimms were achieved. Balanced margin distribution between dimms were also accomplished. Process, voltage and temperature (PVT) variations were improved as well.

  • Highly efficient optical aggregation network with network functions virtualization

    摘要: Network functions virtualization enables network edge functions to be relocated from dedicated hardware to distributed pools of commodity servers. Metro aggregation networks provide transport between access gateway nodes and such servers accommodating virtual network functions (VNFs). Networks need to be designed to increase the efficiency of network resource usage and reducing network cost as well as energy consumption. However, independently placing VNFs on a server from a physical network design degrades the efficiency of resource usage and causes an increase in network cost. We can avoid such problems by adequately placing each VNF in consideration of the location of access gateway nodes and a network topology. We thus propose a method for designing an optical aggregation network with VNF placement. We successfully formulate the design method as mixed-integer linear programming and demonstrate its effectiveness through intensive mathematical experiments. The experiments showed that the proposed method reduced network cost by up to about 18% while performing almost optimally in terms of server load dispersion.

    摘要: In order to maintain energy e?ciency and optimize resource utilization in cloud datacenters, cloud providers adopt virtualization technologies as well as server consolidation. Virtualization is the means used to achieve multi-tenant environments by creating many virtual machines (VMs) on the same physical machine (PM) in a way that they share same physical resources (e.g. CPU, disk, memory, network I/O, etc.). Server consolidation consists of placing as much as possible VMs on as less as possible PMs, in the aim of maximizing idle servers and then minimize the energy consumption. However, this vision of server consolidation is not as simple as it seems to be. Hence, it is crucial to be aware of its emerging concerns, such as severe performance degradation problem when placing particular VMs on the same PM. Furthermore, the Virtual Machine Placement (VMP) is one of the most challenging problems in cloud environments management and it’s been studied from various perspectives. In this paper, we are going to propose a VMP taxonomy in order to understand the various aspects that researchers consider while de?ning their VMP approaches. We will also survey the most relevant interference-aware virtual machine placement literature and then we shall give a comparative study between them.
