    摘要: Novel architecture of high precision localization using optical flow sensor (OFS) combined with Iterative Point Tracking Algorithm (IPTA) is proposed. This work focuses on attenuation of OFS' sensitivity dependency on texture of surface over which sensor is moving. The aim for the design of experimental setup is to verify how much a robustness of OFS’s sensitivity on various surfaces improves. In this regard, four different surfaces' texture including iron, paper, textile and granite stone is opted. Experimental results indicate that sensor's resolution via IPTA on surfaces of iron, paper, textile and granite stone respectively equal to 382, 460, 528 and 448 CPI. Optimal value of the algorithm parameters is calculated via Genetic Algorithm (GA). We show that IPTA is one of the effective algorithms that can enhance the robustness of OFS' resolution to surface's texture variations.

  • Optical and Electrical Performance of ZnO Films Textured by Chemical Etching

    摘要: Zinc oxide (ZnO) films were prepared by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering on the glass substrate as transparent conductive oxide films. For silicon solar cells, a proper surface texture is essential to introduce light scattering and subsequent light trapping to enhance the current generation. In this study, the magnetron-sputtered ZnO films were textured by wet-chemical etching in diluted hydrochloric acid (HCl) for better light scattering. The diffuse transmittance of the surface textured ZnO films was measured to evaluate the light scattering. The influence of hydrochloric acid concentration on the morphology, optical and electrical properties of the surface-textured ZnO film was investigated. The ZnO film etched in 0.05M HCl solution for 30 s exhibited average diffuse transmittance in the visible wavelength range of 9.52 % and good resistivity of 1.10 x 10-3 Ω·cm while the as-deposited ZnO film had average diffuse transmittance of 0.51 % and relatively high resistivity of 5.84 x 10-2 Ω·cm. Experimental results illustrated that the optical and electrical performance of ZnO films can be significantly improved by introducing the surface texture through the wet-chemical etching process.

  • Study of the effect of surface laser texture on tribological properties of cemented carbide materials

    摘要: Surface texturing has become a potential method to obtain a low friction coefficient under dry/lubricated conditions for different mechanical product surfaces. The mechanism of friction and wear reduction from a micro-texture on the surface of cemented carbide cutting tools was investigated by dry cutting a titanium alloy. Three kinds of micro-textures, namely, line, sinusoidal and rhombic grooves, with different area occupancy rates were produced by a laser on the cemented carbide surface. Experiments and finite element simulation of ABAQUS were used to investigate the tribological characteristics of micro-textured cemented carbide. The results indicated that the line-textured cemented carbide with an area occupancy rate of 10% showed a low friction coefficient of 0.076, which is approximately 34% of the non-textured sample. Few adhesives appeared on the textured surface, while a large number of adhesives were attached to the smooth surface after 30 min of dry friction between the cemented carbide and the titanium alloy balls. Moreover, among the three textures, the line-groove texture has the smallest friction coefficient and a good anti-wear effect. The results show that the existence of a groove texture can effectively reserve the wear debris, reduce the bond wear and weaken the furrow effect.

  • Improving the efficiency of a-Si:H/c-Si thin heterojunction solar cells by using both antireflection coating engineering and diffraction grating

    摘要: In this paper, we present an analytical study of the impact of light trapping and multilayer antireflection coating (ARC) on the electrical characteristics of n(a-Si:H)/i(a-Si:H)/p(c-Si)/p+(C-Si) heterojunction solar cells with intrinsic thin layer (SHJ). The developed analytical model considers a triangular texture morphology of the solar cell top surface and a double ARC layer. This model serves as a fitness function to optimize the device reliability against the interfacial traps using Grey Wolf optimization approach (GWO). The optimized solar cell reveals a high short circuit current ISC=47.9mA, an open circuit voltage VOC=0.56V, fill factor FF=74.72% and a conversion efficiency improvement in the order of 30% over conventional planar solar cells efficiency. Not only the optimized SHJ solar cell exhibits higher performance in terms of figure of merits, but also shows superior interfacial traps reliability at the amorphous/crystalline interface. This reliability enhancement is due to a better surface texture control and intrinsic thin film layer tuning provided by GWO approach.

  • Textured PDMS Films Applied to Thin Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells

    摘要: Front surface texturization is a standard procedure used to improve optical properties of photovoltaic devices. In some particular cases, such as when dealing with ultrathin substrates, common texturization techniques can become unpractical or even unfeasible. Texturized polymer films applied on top of such devices may be used as an alternative. In this article, we report on the development of textured polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) films to be placed on top of planar crystalline silicon solar cells based on thin substrates (≤40 μm). The PDMS polymer is deposited onto a rough surface (conventional random pyramid textured silicon), cured and detached from it. By scanning electron microscope images, we demonstrate that the dilution of PDMS into toluene helps in a better replica of the master surface. Next, we apply the optimized PDMS films on top of dummy samples based on 10, 20, and 40 μm thick crystalline silicon (c-Si) substrates whose reflectance is significantly reduced after placing the PDMS films. Accurate optical simulations indicate that the optical improvement comes from three mechanisms: higher light transmission into the device, lower reflectance at the c-Si surface, and better light trapping properties at the thin c-Si absorber. Experimental verification of the optical improvement with texturized PDMS films is reported based on 40 μm thick solar cell, where a short-circuit current density gain of 1.7 mA/cm2 is observed.

  • Coupling and Trapping of Light in Thin-Film Solar Cells Using Modulated Interface Textures

    摘要: Increasing the e?ciency of solar cells relies on light management. This becomes increasingly important for thin-?lm technologies, but it is also relevant for poorly absorbing semiconductors like silicon. Exemplarily, the performance of a-Si:H/μc-Si:H tandem solar cells strongly depends on the texture of the front and rear contact surfaces. The rear contact interface texture usually results from the front surface texture and the subsequent absorber growth. A well-textured front contact facilitates light-coupling to the solar cell and light-trapping within the device. A variety of di?erently textured ZnO:Al front contacts were sputter deposited and subsequently texture etched. The optical performance of a-Si:H/μc-Si:H tandem solar cells were evaluated regarding the two e?ects: light-coupling and light-trapping. A connection between the front contact texture and the two optical e?ects is demonstrated, speci?cally, it is shown that both are induced by di?erent texture properties. These ?ndings can be transferred to any solar cell technologies, like copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) or perovskites, where light management and modi?cations of surface textures by subsequent ?lm growth have to be considered. A modulated surface texture of the ZnO:Al front contact was realized using two etching steps. Improved light-coupling and light-trapping in silicon thin-?lm solar cells lead to 12.5% e?ciency.

  • Effect of Laser Processing Parameters on Surface Texture of Ti6Al4V Alloy

    摘要: Surface micro-machining was performed on Ti6Al4V alloy sample by nanosecond laser. The micro-morphology, the depth of texture and the chemical composition of melt deposits were analyzed through different techniques including Ultra-Depth Microscopy, SEM and EDS. The single factor method was applied to investigate the influence of different laser parameters on the depth of texture and micro-morphology. The result showed that the depth of texture increased first and decreased with the increase of average power (11-20.9W), the texture depth decreases sharply when the scanning speed increased from 10mm/s to 40mm/s, and the repetition frequency had little effect on the depth of texture. It was possible to select an optimum combination of laser processing parameters that obtain different depths of texture without decreasing the surface quality of texture.

  • High energy femtosecond laser peening of 2024 aluminum alloy

    摘要: A femtosecond laser with a pulse energy of up to 100 mJ is used to investigate the feasibility of laser peening of a 2024 aluminum alloy that is widely used in aerospace industry. Laser beam directly irradiates the as-received aluminum sample surface in air without any protective coating for laser absorption and transparent overlay for plasma confinement. The effects of pulse energy, pulse duration and beam spot size on peening performance are studied. Optical microscope and SEM are used to examine the surface morphology of laser peened samples. Vickers hardness test is used to determine the microhardness on the surface. Residual stresses on the surface and at selected depths are measured using x-ray diffraction method. It is found that femtosecond laser can impart compressive residual stresses to a depth of more than 100 μm for this material, but the surface stress condition is not altered significantly.

  • Nd3+:YAG laser surface processing of moly-chrome film at 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm wavelengths

    摘要: A nanosecond pulsed Nd3+:YAG laser was used to generate grooves as well as dimples on the surface of the moly-chrome film. Interaction of laser, operating at the laser wavelengths of 1064 nm, 532 nm and 355 nm, respectively on the target material were investigated. The principal finding is based on the geometrical parameters such as width, depth and recast layer in the case of the groove. Various roughness parameters inside the grooves were studied. Whereas in the case of the dimple, various parameters like dimple diameter, depth and recast laser were analyzed. A study to find the optical reflectivity of the moly-chrome material at different laser wavelengths was conducted. The groove and dimple formed with the laser wavelength of 1064 nm showed a high material removal and re-cast layer compared to 532 nm and 355 nm. The roughness Ra inside the groove formed with the laser wavelength of 1064 nm and 355 nm exhibited a percentage increase of around 68% and 20% compared to the 532 nm.
