Syntheses, crystal structures, and photocatalytic properties of two zinc(II) coordination polymers based on dicarboxylates and flexible bis(benzimidazole) ligands
摘要: Two new ternary zinc(II) coordination polymers (CPs), catena-(μ2-phthalato)-(μ2-1,1'-hexane-1,6-diylbis(2-methyl-1H-benzimidazole))-zinc (CP 1) and catena-(μ2-phenylene-1,4-diacetato)-(μ2-1,1'-hexane-1,6-diylbis(1H-benzimidazole))-zinc (CP 2) were synthesized via hydrothermal process. CP 1 and CP 2 are named as [Zn(L1)(PA)]n and [Zn(L2)(PDA)]n (L1 = 1,1'-hexane-1,6-diylbis(2-methyl-1H-benzimidazole), L2 = 1,1'-hexane-1,6-diylbis(1H-benzimidazole), H2PA = phthalic acid, H2PDA = 1,4-phenylenediacetic acid)), respectively. Both CPs were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. CP 1 possesses a 4-connected 66-dia network, CP 2 displays a 2D hcb layer with point symbol {63}. Luminescence, UV-vis diffuse reflection spectra, and photocatalytic properties of two CPs for the degradation of the methylene blue (MB) dye were investigated. The mechanism of photocatalytic degradation of MB was also suggested.

A unique (4,4,5)-connected 3D zinc (II) metal-organic framework for highly efficient photodegradation of Rhodamine B under UV light
摘要: A new zinc (II) metal-organic framework, [Zn3(L)2(nbta)2]n (1) (L = 1,4-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)-2-butene, H3nbta = 5-nitro-1,2,3-benzenetricarboxylic acid) was hydrothermally synthesized and structural characterized. 1 possesses a unique 3D (4,4,5)-connected network with a Schl?fla symbol of {42.63.8}2{44.62}{47.63}2. Furthermore, the photocatalytic property of 1 for degradation of the Rhodamine B (RhB) was examined under UV irradiation.

Structure-Property Study of Homoleptic Zinc(II) Complexes of Di(arylethynyl) Azadipyrromethene as Non-Fullerene Acceptors for Organic Photovoltaics: Effect of Aryl Group
摘要: Azadipyrromethene-based zinc(II) complexes were demonstrated to be promising molecular organic semiconductors for electronic applications due to their easy preparation, tunable structures and high electron affinity. The first successful such complex incorporated phenylethynyl groups at the pyrrolic positions, which red-shifted the absorption spectra of zinc(II) bis(tetraphenyl azadipyrromethene) and improved morphology in blends with poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT). We recently discovered that replacing the phenyl group in the pyrrolic positions with the larger 1-naphthyl group [Zn(L2)2] increases crystallinity and improves the organic photovoltaic (OPV) performance. In this work, two more aryl groups were explored to further investigate the relationship between the aryl groups in the pyrrolic position and electronic properties: naphthyl with a different anchoring site, 2-naphthyl [Zn(L3)2], and a larger aryl group, 9-phenanthrenyl [Zn(L4)2]. The larger aryl group slightly improved absorptivity and red-shifted the absorption spectra and lead to different packing modes in crystals with most intermolecular π-π stacking interactions being of T-shaped type involving the pyrrolic aryl group of one complex. Of the series, 1-naphthyl gave the highest crystallinity. The OPV power conversion efficiency (PCE) of Zn(L3)2 and Zn(L4)2 when blended with P3HT was 3.7% and 3.4%, respectively, both lower than that of Zn(L2)2, PCE of 5.5% due to higher trap-assisted recombination and less favorable morphology. Charge carrier mobility in these complexes was also relatively low, also limiting performance. Single-point energy calculations point to low overlap integrals as a cause for the low mobility. The aryl group anchoring position and size therefore have a large effect on properties in these systems, but do not appear to significantly enhance intermolecular interactions.

Solvent-controlled assembly of two Zn(II) coordination polymers constructed from 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene and 2,5-dichloroterephthalic acid with fluorescent recognition of carcinogenic dye in chloroform
摘要: Two Zn(II) coordination polymers, [Zn2(tib)2(BDC-Cl2)(HBDC-Cl2)2](cid:1)2H2O (1) and [Zn(tib)(BDC-Cl2)](cid:1)H2O (2), were synthesized by reaction of 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene (tib) and 2,5-dichloroterephthalic acid (H2BDC-Cl2) with Zn2t under solvothermal conditions. The results of X-ray single-crystal analysis show that 1 possesses a 1-D chain structure, while 2 exhibits a 2-D layer structure with {44(cid:1)62} topology. Both display a 3-D supramolecular framework through hydrogen bonding interactions. Experimental results indicated that the ratio of solvent may regulate the structural formation of the polymers. 1 and 2 were further characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and elemental analysis. Notably, 1 and 2 possess the ability to identify chloroform by emitting specific fluorescence spectra. Both can detect carcinogens in dyes by the modified fluorescent signal of the compound in chloroform.

New Zn(II) Complexes of Substituted bis(Salicylidene)phenyl-1,2-diamino Based Organic Ligands: Synthesis, Photoluminescence, Applications in Forensic Fingerprint and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
摘要: New azomethine-Zn(II) complexes of bis(salicylidene)phenyl-1,2-diamino organic ligand derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of salicylaldehyde, substituted phenyl-1,2-diamine with zinc acetate. The synthesized complexes were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR and EDS. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties were studied and their applicability for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and forensic finger print developments have been demonstrated. Photoluminescence studies revealed that the emission peaks of the complexes in solution state appeared at 372-406 nm and emitted blue light. Latent fingerprint detection study indicated that the powder compounds show good adhesion and finger ridge details without back ground staining. Based on these results, it was ascertained that these Zn(II) complexes can serve as a suitable non-dopant blue light emitting compound for flat panel display applications and applied to detect fingerprints on all types of smooth surfaces.

Prospects of applications of fluorescent sensors based on zinc(II) and boron(III) bis(dipyrromethenate)s
摘要: To date, synthesis and study of luminophores with practically significant sensory characteristics are the most promising direction of the oligopyrrole dyes chemistry. The results of sensory characteristics study of zinc(II) and boron(III) bis(dipyrromethenate)s to the various analytes presence in solutions and gas mixtures are discussed in this mini-review. The main aim of the mini-review is to examine the causes and mechanisms of the spectral signal of zinc(II) bis(dipyrromethenate)s to the presence of various nature analytes. The prospects of applications of fluorescent sensors based on zinc(II) and boron(III) bis(dipyrromethenate)s are discussed.

Crystal structure, thermal stability and photoluminesence properties of five new Zn(II) coordination polymers constructed from mixed ligand; N-donor pyridine ligands and bis(4-carboxylphenyl)phosphinic acid
摘要: Five new Zn(II) coordination polymers, {[Zn2(HBPO)2(phen)2(H2O)2].H2O}n (1), [Zn2(BPO)(H2BPO)(phen)4]·2(H2BPO)·4H2O (2), {[Zn(HBPO)(4,4’-bipy)0.5].H2O}n (3), [Zn(HBPO)(dpe)0.5]n (4) and {[Zn2(HBPO)2(dpp)].H2O}n (5), constructed from mixed ligand; bis(4-carboxylphenyl)phosphinic acid (H3BPO) and N-donor pyridine ligands (phen, 4,4’-bipy, dpe and dpp), have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds, π- π interaction and other intermolecular interaction are effective in stabilization of the crystal structure of these supramolecular complexes. The thermal stability and luminescence properties of compounds 1-5 in the solid state were studied too.

A Conformationally Flexible Macrocyclic Dipyrrin Tetramer and Its Unsymmetrically Twisted Luminescent Zinc(II) Complex
摘要: A macrocyclic dipyrrin tetramer containing flexible m-phenylene linkages and its tetranuclear zinc(II) complex were synthesized. The obtained complex has an unsymmetrical figure-of-eight structure because of the conformational flexibility of the macrocyclic framework. The first μ-hydroxo- and μ-acetato-bridged dinuclear zinc(II) dipyrrin complex structure is realized in the twisted macrocyclic complex. Furthermore, the complex exhibited an efficient emission in toluene and chloroform.

Spectrophotometic Determination of Trace Zinc in Milk Powder by Ethyl Rhodamine B
摘要: In the presence of the surfactant gum Arabic, the Zn(II)-SCN–-ERB (ERB = ethyl rhodamine-B) ternary chromogenic reaction system was studied. The results showed that, in the acetic acid-sodium acetate medium of pH 5.0, Zn(II)-SCN–-ERB forms a rose red complex of 1:4:2 at room temperature. The complex has a maximum absorption wavelength of 625 nm, a zinc content of 0.16-8.00 μg/25 mL conforming to the Lambert-Beer’s law, a molar absorption coefficient ε625 of 1.02 × 105 L mol-1 cm-1 and a detection limit of 0.045 μg/25 mL. Using this method to determine the trace zinc in milk powder, the relative standard deviation is less than 2 % and the results are satisfactory.

A three-dimensional Zn <sup>II</sup> coordination network based on 5,5′-methylenebis(2,4,6-trimethylisophthalic acid) and 2,7-bis(1 <i>H</i> -imidazol-1-yl)fluorene: synthesis, structure and luminescence properties
摘要: In recent years, coordination polymers constructed from multidentate carboxylate ligands and N-containing ligands have attracted much attention since these ligands can adopt a rich variety of coordination modes which can lead to crystalline products with intriguing structures and interesting properties. A new coordination polymer, namely poly[[diaqua[μ-2,7-bis(1H-imidazol-1-yl)fluorene-κ2N3:N3′][μ-5,5′-methylenebis(2,4,6-trimethylisophthalato)-κ2O1:O1′]zinc(II)] hemihydrate], {[Zn(C23H22O8)(C19H14N4)(H2O)2]·0.5H2O}n, 1, was prepared by the self-assembly of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O with 5,5′-methylenebis(2,4,6-trimethylisophthalic acid) (H4BTMIPA) and 2,7-bis(1H-imidazol-1-yl)fluorene (BIF) under solvothermal conditions. The structure of 1 was determined by elemental analysis, single-crystal X-ray crystallography, powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. Each ZnII ion is six-coordinated by two O atoms from two H2BTMIPA2? ligands, by two N atoms from two BIF ligands and by two water molecules, forming a distorted octahedral ZnN2O4 coordination geometry. Adjacent ZnII ions are linked by H2BTMIPA2? ligands and BIF ligands, leading to the formation of a two-dimensional (2D) (4,4)-sql network, and intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions connect the 2D layer structure into the three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular structure. Each 2D layer contains two kinds of helices with the same direction, which are opposite in adjacent layers. The luminescence properties of complex 1 in the solid state have also been investigated.
