1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study employed a mid-infrared free-electron laser (FEL) to target the molecular structure of melanin. The FEL was tuned to specific wavelengths corresponding to the vibrational modes of melanin's chemical bonds.

Synthetic melanin powder and melanoma cells were used as samples. The melanin powder was spread on a slide base for irradiation, and melanoma cells were cultured in DMEM containing 10% FCS.

Melanin powder was irradiated with FEL at various wavelengths and power densities. The morphological and structural changes were analyzed using optical microscopy, SEM, FT-IR, MALDI-TOF-MS, and 13C-NMR. Melanoma cells were irradiated and observed under an optical microscope.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The data were analyzed using Perfect Viewer 7 imaging software for microscopy images, and standard spectroscopic techniques for FT-IR, MALDI-TOF-MS, and 13C-NMR data.
