研究目的
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination therapy with sclerotherapy and dual-wavelength pulsed dye laser (PDL) & Nd:YAG for infantile hemangiomas (IHs).
研究成果
Combined sclerotherapy and dual-wavelength laser treatment is an effective option for IH. Each treatment has its own advantages. Combined treatment can achieve better results, especially for patients who have no response to, or cannot tolerate, propranolol.
研究不足
The laser treatment had limitations when the IH was thicker than 0.6 cm because the deep components could not be treated. Combined therapy was necessary for thicker IHs.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved a combination of sclerotherapy and dual-wavelength laser treatment for infantile hemangiomas (IHs).
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Fifty-nine patients with IH were recruited from the plastic surgery department of Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A Vascular Workstation (Cynosure, Westford, MA) laser was used, along with 1% lauromacrogol as the sclerosing agent.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Patients were treated with sclerotherapy followed by laser therapy 2 weeks later, under general anesthesia by inhalation of sevoflurane.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Observers assessed the size and color of IH using a size rating scale and color rating scale before and after treatments.
