研究目的
To update the experience of oncologic and functional outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) for prostate cancer in patients with a history of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
研究成果
Post HoLEP prostatectomy remains feasible with similar perioperative and oncologic outcomes compared with matched cohorts. Functional recovery remains slowed yet may continue to improve with technical familiarity.
研究不足
The study is retrospective with implicit selection bias. The study group is relatively small, which could impact generalizability. Follow-up post-RARP was standardized, but some data points were unavailable due to referral patterns.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective study comparing 27 patients with previous HoLEP who underwent RARP to a matched 1:1 cohort of RARP patients with no history of transurethral surgery.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Patients were identified from an IRB database at Indiana University School of Medicine.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy was performed using standard techniques.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Demographic, operative, oncologic, continence, and erectile function outcomes were analyzed.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Descriptive statistics, T-tests, Mann-Whitney tests, Pearson χ2, and Fisher’s exact tests were used for statistical analysis.
