研究目的
Investigating the design and simulation of the Fourier Transform Beam Propagation Method in different optical waveguides.
研究成果
The FD-BPM is found to be more efficient and stable than FFT-BPM for simulating light propagation in optical waveguides. The Fourier Transform method is useful for propagating Gaussian beams, especially for beams with initial waist radii close to or larger than one wavelength. However, for narrow initial waist radii, the FDTD technique is preferred due to its ability to model beams incident on any surface.
研究不足
The FFT-BPM requires much smaller propagation step sizes than FD-BPM for similar accuracy, indicating higher computational demands. The study is limited to simulations and does not include experimental validation.
