研究目的
Investigating a novel approach for electrodeposition of gallium from a chloroaluminate ionic liquid in ambient atmosphere, after protection with a non water-absorbable hydrocarbon layer.
研究成果
Gallium was successfully electrodeposited in a highly hygroscopic chloroaluminate ionic liquid under ambient atmosphere, after covering the ionic liquid with a decane layer. The electrodeposition is a diffusion-controlled process, and the microstructure of Ga deposits is influenced by the substrate metal. The approach has the potential to be studied in a pilot scale.
研究不足
The electrodeposition process is diffusion-controlled, and the morphology of Ga deposits is influenced by the substrate metal. The study suggests further investigations on the stability of decane and decane/ionic liquid double layer over extended periods.
