研究目的
Investigating the damage progress in the ceramic coating of thermal barrier coatings (TBC) exposed to cyclic rapid thermal loading using a newly developed rapid thermal cycling device.
研究成果
The developed rapid thermal cycling test device successfully simulated actual steep thermal gradient in TBC. Vertical cracks initiated at the surface of TBC at early cycles and propagated into the sintering layer. Finite element analysis revealed that tensile stress, shifted by accumulation of sintering strain and steep temperature gradient, contributed to crack initiation and growth.
研究不足
The study focuses on the damage evaluation under rapid thermal cycling but does not address long-term durability under actual operational conditions. The simplification of the FE model by ignoring the bond coat may affect the accuracy of stress analysis.
