研究目的
To analyze and compare the performance of bifacial and mono-facial photovoltaic systems under different environmental conditions.
研究成果
The bifacial solar panels generate more energy per year than mono-facial solar panels, with the most suitable tilt angle being 15 degrees. The generation increasing percentage is higher when the albedo is increasing. Bifacial PV performs well under albedo rates of more than 40% and at tilt angles of 15 degrees, while mono-facial PV performs well under albedo rates of less than 40% and at tilt angles of 15 degrees.
研究不足
The study was based on computer simulations, which may not fully capture real-world environmental variations and conditions.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study used computer simulations with PVSyst6 software and MATLAB/Simulink to analyze the performance of bifacial and mono-facial photovoltaic systems.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Simulations were conducted considering different albedos and tilt angles to identify power variations. The location selected was Colombo-Katunayaka, Sri Lanka, due to its proximity to the equator and higher irradiance rate.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Mono-crystalline type-high efficiency cells were used for both bifacial and mono-facial panels.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Simulations were conducted under four variable considerations: Albedo 30 and tilt angle 15, Albedo 30 and tilt angle 30, Albedo 80 and tilt angle 15, Albedo 80 and tilt angle
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The results were analyzed to determine the power gain and most suitable PV panels for different site conditions.
