The 2D MoS2/1D WS2 heterostructure was successfully synthesized and characterized, demonstrating promising photodetector performance across a broadband spectrum. The highest photoresponsivity was achieved at 785 nm, attributed to the built-in electric field reducing electron-hole pair recombination. The study provides a foundation for further research into heterostructure-based optoelectronic devices.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study utilized a hydrothermal technique to synthesize the 2D/1D heterostructure. The sensor was fabricated using the drop cast technique. Characterization techniques included XRD, FTIR Spectroscopy, FESEM, UV-Vis, Raman, and XPS spectroscopy.

Equipment used includes SEM Zeiss, Sigma, Transmission Electron Microscopy (JEOL/JEM-F200), X-ray diffraction (XRD Smart Lab, Rigaku), UV-Vis Spectrophotometer (Cary 100 series, Agilent Technologies), Bruker’s Vertex 70V spectrometer, HR800 JY, Lab RAM HR for Raman spectroscopy, and XPS (Omicron ESCA, Oxford Instrument Germany).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The optical sensing studies were performed under optimum conditions at room temperature using a two-probe chamber from Linkam, UK. The device was irradiated with laser sources at different wavelengths and power levels.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The photoresponsivity, quantum efficiency, noise equivalent power, detectivity, and specific detectivity were calculated to assess the performance of the photodetector.
