The study successfully established a novel design strategy for ultrafast laser initiating materials using coordination chemistry. The synthesized Ag-based ECCP demonstrated excellent tolerance to moisture, non-corrosive properties, good thermal stability, and superior detonation performance. It showed great potential as an ultrafast photosensitive initiating material for laser direct initiation, with a low initiation delay time and energy requirement.
