研究目的
Investigating the influence of the polarization of a multielectron atom in a strong laser field on high-order harmonic generation.
研究成果
The polarization of multielectron atoms in strong laser fields significantly affects ionization and HHG by suppressing bound-state depletion and enhancing HHG yield. The TDDFT calculations show a substantial increase in HHG yield compared to the SAE approximation, especially at high laser intensities. The contribution of different atomic orbitals to HHG spectra is also highlighted, with the 3p0 orbital being the most active at high frequencies.
研究不足
The study is limited to argon atoms and specific ranges of laser-pulse parameters. The numerical challenges include handling electronic dynamics in various atomic shells and the high probability of recolliding electrons moving over long distances and acquiring high energies.
