研究目的
To investigate the potential of RADARSAT-2 band-C in identifying rice fields over a large and fragmented land-use area in the Cau River basin, Vietnam.
研究成果
The study demonstrated the capabilities of RADARSAT-2 C-band to identify cultivated rice fields in a fragmented land-use area, with the SVM classification showing slightly better accuracy than the thresholding technique. Polarimetric data was found to be more effective than a single polarization in identifying rice fields.
研究不足
The study was limited by the lack of field data and spring images, and the use of a 1:50,000 reference map which may not be sufficiently detailed for accurate validation.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Two methods were proposed, one for each data type (dual-pol and quad-pol), adapted to the land-use/land-cover of the study area. The thresholding technique was applied to the HH like-polarized ratio of dual-pol data, and the SVM algorithm was applied to the full quad-pol and a single HH-polarization calculated from polarimetric data.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
RADARSAT-2 images covering the Cau River basin were used, along with ground truth data collected during field trips.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
RADARSAT-2 band-C data, SPOT-4 images, and a DEM created from topographic maps.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Data calibration, geometric correction, filtering, backscattering coefficient analysis, and classification using thresholding and SVM methods.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Analysis of temporal backscattering behavior of rice compared to other vegetation, and validation of classification results using confusion matrix method.
