The high luminescent polymer-encapsulated CdSe/CdS/ZnS core?shell?shell quantum dots were successfully synthesized and characterized. These QDs revealed enhanced emission and showed antibacterial activity against Klebsiella Pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Due to good absorbing and emission intensity and high luminescence, these QDs can be used in optoelectronics devices, solar cells, and transistors.

The study is limited to the synthesis and characterization of CdSe/CdS/ZnS QDs with specific polymer capping agents. The antibacterial activity was tested against only two bacterial strains.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The CdSe/CdS/ZnS core?multi-shell quantum dots were prepared without a protective atmosphere via a continual precursor injection and phosphine free method in paraffin liquid and oleic acid. Polymers like PEG, PVA, PVP, and PAA were added to CdSe/CdS/ZnS core?multi-shell quantum dots to increase stability.

The samples were characterized using UV?visible spectra, PL spectra, FTIR spectra, SEM analysis, XRD analysis, and TGA-DSC analysis.
