研究目的
To compare the theoretical biases in estimating polarimetric properties of precipitation with weather radar using parabolic reflector, or planar and cylindrical arrays.
研究成果
The cylindrical polarimetric phased array radar exhibits much lower biases in polarimetric parameter estimates compared to the planar configuration, with performance comparable to that of the parabolic reflector antenna. This suggests that cylindrical arrays may be more suitable for future polarimetric weather radar applications where accurate measurements are critical.
研究不足
The study is based on simulations and theoretical calculations, which may not fully capture all real-world operational conditions and environmental factors affecting radar performance.
