The proposed ESPRIT-based method for joint pitch and DOA estimation is computationally more efficient than existing methods and performs similarly. It is effective for both synthetic and real-life signals, with performance close to the corresponding Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB).

The method assumes the number of sources and the number of harmonics are known a priori or determined with some available methods. The performance may be degraded in the presence of multi-path propagation without using the spatio-temporal smoothing technique.
