研究目的
Investigating the feasibility of aircraft positioning by using the signal delay profile of Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting–Terrestrial (ISDB-T) signals.
研究成果
The proposed system using ISDB-T signal delays is useful for estimating aircraft positions. The experiment demonstrated that signal delays caused by moving aircraft can be detected, several delayed signals can be separated, and a much higher update rate can be achieved compared to conventional primary surveillance radar.
研究不足
The positional accuracy was not taken into account in this study. Additionally, the study mentions the need to confirm the accuracy of the estimated target position by comparing it to other surveillance data and to expand the system to multistatic-type radar in future works.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study utilizes passive bistatic radar (PBR) principles with ISDB-T signals for aircraft positioning. The method involves detecting signal delays caused by moving aircraft using the characteristics of ISDB-T, specifically its guard interval (GI).
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The experiment was performed near Tokyo International Airport using high-power signals from TOKYO SKYTREE.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A COTS Yagi antenna with 30 elements and a signal analyzer 'Keysight Technology N9010A with software N6155A' were used.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The experiment involved receiving incident and scattered waves by aircraft, detecting signals, computing signal delays, and recording them using LabVIEW software.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The data analysis involved computing the distance from the receiver to the target based on signal delays and estimating aircraft positions along the landing course.
