The ME effect in laminates of lead-free piezoelectric langatate bimorph and magnetostrictive Permendur is stronger compared to composites with lead-based ceramic ferroelectrics. An 80% increase in ME coupling strength is achieved using compositionally-stepped piezoelectric, making these laminates suitable for magnetic field sensors and converters.
