研究目的
To review current initiatives of SouthBound Interfaces (SBI) to control optical components, including ad-hoc extensions of OpenFlow and YANG modelling proposals combined with the NETCONF / RESTCONF protocols, and to discuss the advantages and drawbacks of these initiatives.
研究成果
The paper concludes that while OpenFlow proposals were initially relevant in SDONs, current trends favor YANG modelling with NETCONF / RESTCONF protocols. However, the lack of mature prototyping toolkits for these protocols hinders standardization and quick iteration in the SDON community.
研究不足
The paper discusses the lack of open source tools to implement protocol agents during product development or research programs, which jeopardizes the standardization movement in the SDON community. It also mentions the complexity of implementing NETCONF and RESTCONF agents.
