To study the aerosol optical properties over validation sites in Japan for the HISUI Hyperspectral Imager's atmospherically corrected surface reflectance product validation.

The study presents the HISUI atmospheric correction algorithm and validation methods using ground-based measurements of aerosol optical properties. The aerosol properties over the validation sites in Japan, measured by Skyradiometer POM02, are divided into groups based on their characteristics, which will be useful for validating the HISUI atmospherically corrected surface reflectance. Future work includes evaluating the effect of atmospheric correction by aerosol optical properties for each group.

The SKYNET SSA results may be larger than AERONET due to underestimated skyradiometer SVA. The effect of surface reflectance on aerosol optical properties needs further investigation.
