To propose a low-cost patch antenna with circular polarization using a FR4 substrate for US standard UHF RFID application, with better impedance matching at 915MHz.

The antenna proposed fulfils the purpose of being a low-cost alternative to a commercial circular polarized antenna. The simulation results showed good impedance matching, high gain, and low axial ratio at 915MHz. In the comparison with the commercial antenna, both antennas had similar reading performance. However, the antenna showed great sensibility in terms of the airgap thickness.
